I remember as a kid being stuck on Detention Center for like a year or a year and a half. I just didn't figure out where to go. Getting stuck like that isn't part of gaming any more..
@@pon3d120 That's not a great sell for me, to be honest.. I don't remember it fondly. I have Hollow Knight though, I'll get around to completing it some day.
I'm a little surprised they didn't mention how a lot of the sound effects from this game (jumping, enemies taking damage, switching weapons) were recycled for Shadows of the Empire on N64.
OH MY GOD I USED TO WATCH MY BROTHER PLAY THIS GAME BUT OUR DISK WAS MESSED UP AND COULDN'T GET PAST GROMA'S MINES. Course I've gotten it on steam and beaten it a few times now but holy crap I love this game.
Blown away by level 3. What took you less than a minute to tackle took most people hours to figure out back in the day. I quit on that level so many times growing up.
It's called good level design.. These games had some of the best, Jedi Outcast in particular. Doesn't have to make complete sense as long as it's fun, and makes for good balanced gameplay.
GMMReviews I like when makes some sense and it is fun. It really bugs me when it's just randon mazes. Specially in a game like Star Wars that is more sci-fi than Doom or Quake.

Hollow Knight definitely has that if you're looking for an amazing modern game aimed at old school exploration.

I'm playing it for the first time in my life, took me 4 hours to do what you did in 11min. That's impressive to watch
Well that's my childhood ripped apart...

And quite a few of the graphics as well now that I'm looking at them.
Just had to rub in that "no longer canon" dig didn't cha?
manwiththemachinegun yeah disney can't decide what canon is. They inherited star wars' greatness but fans built it.
the best star wars game, hands down
?
Republic commando
Great run!

impressive...
uh, memories
Dark Troopers, are back in Canon!
Definitely one of the better old shooters.
Skip to 20:13 to watch a pig fly!
17:03 .... jump
This is DarkXL is nice, but I'd love to see a remake with a modern game engine.
Is this the one with the Sam & Max Easter egg? I was keeping my eyes peeled for that
Dark Forces 2 has it
I think I never got further than level 2 or 3 playing this back in the day. Just like Terminator Future Shock. Games were hard and I was young!
19:46 two ships... LOL
Omg do Jedi Academy or Outcast!
i never knew doom had dlc
I never finished Jedi Knight 2 because I got annoyed how the architecture doesn't make any sense. This game is even worse.

Star Wars is as much of a sci-fi franchise as Hercules & Xena.
