I really like this demo, do you find this more Versatile thank the microtubes 500? I can’t find a great demo A/Bing them. I’m crazy for fuzz on bass but I’m also looking for that Chris Squire tone. Any thoughts? This was by far the best Dark Glass demo I have seen. Thank you.

Great vid. I'm in the market for a new head. Trying to decide between the DG Microtubes 500 which has the VMT and B3k built in or the Alpha-Omega 500 which just has the AO built in. I'm starting to think that VMT as "Always on" and B3k for boosted would be a great combo. Suppose I could always buy an AO pedal if I really wanted that too. Love the AO sound but most of what my band plays is classic rock so it's probably overkill.
Classic rock? Yeah I’d think you’ll want a VMT in there somewhere. If you’ll truly leave it on all night then save some pedalboard space and go with the MT500

I've been trying to find out two things, wondering if you can help. First, is it possible to run the AO or Microtubes without a speaker load and have them work in a preamp-style format for studio or in-ear-only situations? Second, how does the wattage work - is it 500w at 2 ohms decreasing to 125 at 8ohms or does the wattage hold steady? Thanks!
@@AmosHeller Love your videos and explanations - thank you. I played the 900W thru an MB102 at Guitar Center and it made a $300 bass sound glorious. The 2 ohms is killing me! I already have an MB102, but the 8 ohm impedance won't allow for max amp output. GRRR!!!

Does the 500 also include a footswitch? I've only seen the 900s with one.

Would the omega 500 amp work well using an Ampeg 6x10 or 8x10 cab, or any non darkglass cab in general? (e.g; a house cab)

-yes you can run the amp without a speaker load (that’s how I did the video)
-wattage output will decrease as impedance increases
