That's right. Rod and Princeton are done by the same guy.. And Nicky and Trekkie are done by another guy.. Finally Lucy and Kate are also done by the same girl.. So there are only 3 voices for the puppets.. :)
I don't think it matters if they're done by the same guy or not. Lucy and Kate (who are done by the same woman) have a scene where they bicker back and forth. It's actually pretty sweet. ^_^
However iyou pay close enough attention in the song "only for now" Jonny (the actor for princeton and Rod) Has both of them because the woman who always holds the extra puppets has her arms full.
@DeeplyShalllow Aww, just because you like one doesn't mean you can't like the other xD Just finished watching Avenue Q and I positively love all the songs, the musical's amazing, and me and my friends are planning to go and watch Wicked when it performs here in a couple of months. And Wicked still won Best Actress if you're still upset :)
He found that he didn't need a purpose at the end of the musical, but in my recalling he never finds a porpoise. Heck, did he even show an interest in marine biology?

i belive that this came with the avenue q program (the one you have to pay for) i ditn buy it when i saw it, but i know it comes with a song that was pulled, ao maybe htis is it.
I understand Alex ,say have you noticed Rod sounds like Paul Lynde? So if there was an animated version of Avenue Q I bet they could get him to voice Rod (or perhaps Dee Bradley Baker), as for the others how about this: Andrew Rannells-Princeton Mona Marshall-Kate and Lucy Corey Burton-Nicky, Ricky and Trekkie Monster (we need a Rick Lyon sound-alike so why not Corey?) Matt Stone and Kristen Schaal-The Bad Idea Bears with Lauren Tom, Cree Summer and Trey Parker what do you think?
there are 3 or 4 songs that ar written and taped, but they aren't in the musical. you can see on wikipedia the titels of the songs, and i thing (I'M NOT SURE!) they are on the CD you can buy at the musical!
Carolina Machado 4 years later you got a answer from what I herd it was written specifically for Tony voters as part of the “For your consideration” Tony campaign. A Very clever move on the part of producers in my opinion, and it paid off as it won best musical that yaer beating the far more popular Wicked
thats awesome can you get that song called "christmas" it sounds just like the song "purpose" but it's really about christmas i heard it before it's from avenue q can you post that? =]
Dx this is yet another song thats definitaly Avenue Q but wasnt in the actual musical when i saw it...;__; Im so confused... :D Rod's my hero! :D WE LOVE YOU ROD!
I'm sure you already know this by now, 15 years later, but anywa ys: this song was never supposed to go to the musical. It was made for the Tony Awards contest so that people voted on Avenue Q. Incidentally, there other "lost" Avenue Q songs, like "Tear It Up And Throw It Away"
@xEmmy07x I know same! i went with my two friends who look much older than me to a 12A film and they only let me in because my friends went with me! I'm 14!! By the way, Avenue Q so does! =D
I really don't get the whole Wicked vs. Avenue Q animosity. Honestly, they're both great shows; why does it have to be one or the other? Sure, they were both up for the Tony, but that doesn't mean you can't be fans of both just because there could only be one winner. It's a little childish, to be honest.
Ew! 1) she's not hot (IMO) 2) she's a hypocrite 3) you can't vote for someone based on how they look 4) it'd be McCain you're voting for, not her 5) I feel that Obama's obviously the better candidate Unfortunately I'm from the UK so I can't vote
I know you all will disagree with me on this, but I think Avenue Q should’ve been disqualified at the Tony Awards. Because I think they wrote that song so they can bribe the Tony Voters to vote for them instead of Wicked. I know Wicked is not perfect, but Wicked is a better musical than Avenue Q in my opinion. I know I’ll receive dislikes, but this is my opinion, and mine alone.
In their defence, there was no rule saying they *couldn't* do this at the time (also youtube doesn't show dislikes ever since they got roasted on a youtube rewind video a couple years ago)
Sometimes I wish Rod wasn't gay it's kinda annoying, like I said the creators should've made Rod bisexual, then he could still have Ricky and a girl on the side, plus Nicky would have some extra company, don't you think so?
The fact that John Tartaglia had to change between his Princeton voice and Rod voice so quickly amazes me.
Trekkie: Vote for him he pay you back in sexual favour
Rod: And that too
D:
"and then i'll tell the cute one i voted for him! hahaha.."
I love Rod.
"And then I'm gonna tell the cute guy that I voted for him!" I
"And then I'm gonna tell the cute one I voted for him!"
GO ROD! xDDD
"And one guy's a guy you'd like to make your bitch"
OMG I laughed sooooo hard XDD
Whenever someone says “a vote for blank is a vote for blank” I listen to this.
Oh, look! A youtube video! And it's from the year i was born! 😲 It's a sign!
Rod's my favourite
YAY!! It's the OBC! Johnny was the BEST!! Thanks for posting! I LOVE THE OBC OF AVENUE Q!!!!
I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it. O.O It sounds like one of those computer pop ups.
"It's not boring, it's Rotary!"
I love Rod's little LAUGH! XD
"Oh, get real you guys." Man, Rod, I thought you were the smart one! But we luff you anyway.
1:40 THE OLD FACEBOOK CHAT NOISE!!!! Oh god I miss that noise
OMG this SO worked!!! It's so clever.. if not a little bit subliminal =P
"And we're all counting on you.." ... "Avenue Q!"
"I'm gonna vote my.......HEART!" and then I'm going to tell the cute one I voted for him.
LOL! you gotta love the fact that he's gay
It's not boring...it's ROTARY! :D Oh i love you rod!
That's right. Rod and Princeton are done by the same guy..

Squee! I love this song! Rod's my fav character, I wuvs him! :D
"and one guy's the guy you like to make your b*tch'' when i herd that i laghfed may butt off
*Throws a dictionary at your head*
While I prefer Avenue Q, both it and Wicked are incredible musicals, both wonderful in their own ways, and both worthy of Tonies. :)
I don't think it matters if they're done by the same guy or not. Lucy and Kate (who are done by the same woman) have a scene where they bicker back and forth. It's actually pretty sweet. ^_^
It was never in the show at any stage. It was recorded as a part of the demo for the show's Tony Award Campaign, for the voters/committee.
However iyou pay close enough attention in the song "only for now" Jonny (the actor for princeton and Rod) Has both of them because the woman who always holds the extra puppets has her arms full.
This sounds a lot like The Money Song...
Gee, money and politics being related... isn't that an interesting concept.
Me to. Especially the laughter.
i freaking ruv rod

I LOVE THIS SONG :D
in for now he has princeton on one hand and rod on the other.
what an angel
awesome laugh at the end
well...the other day i almost couldn't get into a 12A movie...(i hardly look 15...lol) Avenue Q rocks!!! :)
why is there a pop at 1:42 when Princeton says care?
Yeah, but did Princeton ever find his porpoise?
He found that he didn't need a purpose at the end of the musical, but in my recalling he never finds a porpoise. Heck, did he even show an interest in marine biology?
I'd vote for the cute one
They wrote it for the Tony Awards voters. Go to Wikipedia and search for Avenue Q, go to "Other Avenue Q songs".

I only watched the music videos but I thought Rod wasn't ok with them knowing he was gay, so what happened in the actual show that changed it?
18bluecat rod being a closet case was likely the reason this song was cut.
At the end of the show, he comes out.
The song wasn't a song that was part of the show. This was for the Tony's voting.
@@BoHista23 This wasn't cut at all. It wasn't a part of the show to begin with. Also Rod does tell everyone he's gay.
When did this happen in the paly?
It didn't. I believe this song was specifically recorded as part of AQ's Tony campaign.
is there any place to get this song?
mostamazingppl doubt it considering this song is just a add

Is this Broadway or West End?
Broadway, I believe
