Is It Possible to Beat Batman Arkham Asylum with No Upgrades?

- Skill trees have been in a variety of video games for years and that includes the Arkham games. These upgrades can add things like extra health, improvements to Batman's gadgets, and the inverted takedown. In this video I try to beat the game without upgrading anything. Will I be able to do it?
Would love to see a part 2 with city, maybe even part 3 and 4 with origins and knight

Im pretty sure city isn’t beatable without upgrades, let alone knight. But we’ll find out sooner or later!
@@envir9062 knight will be impossible because of those parts where you need to pick an upgrade for the batmobile tho he never said no glitches

I’ve done this challenge myself. It was really fun and a great challenge that I highly recommend. Looking back, it makes sense that no upgrades are required as the upgrades are a choice and if you get to a point where you need an upgrade you don’t have and have no more upgrade points, then you would be completely stuck. Great video mate!
Challenges are a fun way to experience an old game a new way.
Good memes, also about the doctor tag, medical clothes are usually not person specific in facilities, no surgeon has his own personal suit, the important thing is the size

This was more fun and less difficult than I expected. The biggest change for me were the predator sections. I felt naked without the triple batarang and the one shot sonic batarang. It made me play more creatively and not just clear every room in less than a minute.
I know right. That's one of the reasons I like doing challenge videos. It lets me play a game in a different and creative way.

I really did not know that you could destroy the spores with the Batarang. Arkham Asylum just became a whole lot easier
5:00 I made that exact same joke when I got that. edit: a small thing, ever since I started replaying the Arkham games I have been getting a lot of videos about the Arkham games, which really shows how good the algorithm can be if it does work.

Before the video starts I can already tell you don’t need them, because you gain everything as a tool progressively when you require it for the story.
Explosive gel at the Batmobile, Batclaw once you go in the Batcave, Line Launcher when you need to escape the Botanical Gardens lab, and finally the Ultra Batclaw when you need to escape the Batcave. A lot of upgrades are nice, but they’re unneeded, and AFAIK, each of the games do not require you to use an upgrade whatsoever, as they all give you the tools required when needed in the story.
Now for side missions and especially Riddler stuff, you obviously do need some of them at certain points. Same goes ofc for the challenges
Yeah, the hardest part was playing on hard difficulty. The actual challenge wasn't that bad.

Hard mode in Arkham Asylum isn’t really that hard because it just removes counter icons and enemies and bosses are only slightly increased in speed. At least in the original. I guess Return to Arkham fixed that.
It felt harder to me. Probably since I didn't get any health upgrades
@@KazyMatman I guess. Again, I don’t really know that much myself.
It increases boss health (bane and titans get 3 mini phases in each of their health bars), ivy has a lot more health and predator section enemies check gargoyles more often and are more perceptive overall.

Yes it is I did it my very first play through when I was a kid I didn't pay attention to tutorials or anything and made it all the way through some how
The hardest part was playing on hard difficulty. The challenge itself was easy.

I can barley play the Arkham games on hard, I rely way to much on the over head alerts
It takes time to get used to but is still fun.

I mean it's not a SKIN problem but it Is theoretically a curable disease, he turned evil because he was trying to find a cure. I guess at first it was scales, then he started growing and getting sharp teeth and such.

When I was way younger, everytime I played arkham asylum and arkham city I always played the full story without upgrades because at the time English wasn't on my side and it's not my native language so I couldn't read about tutorials of upgrading.
Yes it's possible, I've done it on my UA-cam channel
1:53 the kick didnt knock him out it killed him, if you use detective mode it says hes deceased
But still, the kick doesn't look strong enough to kill a grown man.
