The Garden Line steadily saw less and less use as I got involved with Exhibiting layouts. Not enough time for everything. It last saw use around 1998-9. A few years later a minor flood of the garage caused by a blocked drain led to the dismantling of the Electrics and Storage area which more or less ended the Line for good. In a Beechingesque style move the tracks were lifted and all re-useable equipment stored. A lot of the outdoor buildings were salvaged and many are now to be seen on 'Kings Park', still being exhibited (possibly later in 2021 at the N Gauge Show in Leamington). Most of the equipment has been reused on the current layout.
@@MrGettingtooold That's a shame, was great to see someone being so ambitious with N gauge outdoors when I read your 2 part articles in RM back in the mid 90s. There's only been a couple of layouts in N featured over the years.
The BOC Tankers were made by converting standard Farish TEA Tankers. Some photos showing the process can be found here facebook.com/photo/?fbid=902214643750380&set=a.142604599711392

Sometimes Andy it is incredibly difficult to work out reality v model. In this case you really have achieved perfection. Cheers, Bob
Brilliant Layout! As a fellow N guage enthusiast. Was that a class 310 i saw!
Yes the 310s have been made by converting early Graham Farish coaching stock.
@@MrGettingtooold Fantastic!! Great Job!
Superb layout Andy, what happened to your N gauge garden line?

Hi, great layout, how did you produce the BOC tanks? I’d love a rake of them…… thanks! Simon.
