Yay another episode. Again, I have no business being here as a straight married woman but obsessed with learning about other communities, culture, and people.
Big thanks to Buck and the On Guard crew for this. I've been scared of getting involved with anything leather because a friend in high school was wearing a very old and cracked and just really neglected trench coat one day, and I broke out after he was playfully smacking at my neck. Bootblacking as a concept always interested me, and I'm a service top. Mr Kristofer's boots though 😍
Tip suggestion: Sometimes if I am at an event wherein the Bootblacks' tips are half-to-Fund or all-to-Fund, I will also tip my bootblack in barter so that they will have something of which they can keep the entirety.
Well done. Great coverage of topics that many bootblacks have to address. Hopefully I'll see a few of you at Southplainsleatherfest or another event soon.
If you want to hit anyone with a trad New Zealand childhood in all the feels, use Kiwi Boot Polish to clean their shoes. Most of us kiwis learned how to clean our shoes using the stuff when we were kids, and in most cases the person teaching us how was our father. Note: the slang term 'Kiwi' to refer to a New Zealander comes from NZ solders using that brand of polish during WW1. We have a history with the stuff, lol.
Point of Information: Int'l Ms Leather/Int'l Ms Bootblack has a long history of equal travel funds for both titleholders! IMsLBB has long been dedicated to, and famous for, truly fair and equal support of its Titleholders. Come to Jersey in April!
I light my wax polish whenever I can. In my experience I find it spreads more thinly and evenly and gives a brighter shine. More recently a lot of spaces prohibit firing your polish. I have ALWAYS kept a fire extinguisher 🧯 right next to my polish as well. Some bootblacks apply the polish to the boot first, then light it. I found this more dangerous to my client, having done it exactly ONCE. 😳
Watching both this and the new Watts The Safeword episode... How Mr Kristofer is repeating his jokes. 😂 What I am wondering: Is there anything to take care of vegan(PU e.g.) leather? As they age, some of that material is turning into flakes and that is so sad. Anything one can do?

As a femme identifying bootblack, outside of the USA, I adore this episode.
Well done Buck Harder & the On Guard Cigar team! ❤

42:07 someone is getting hit hard in the background there 😂
Thnx for yet another great discussion guys! Intrigued as always
So excited for a bootblack video. It's a really uncommon thing in my area.
Great video.

After Liquid's step down speech this year, I'd rethink attendance..
@@Firemistress282 I did go to Jersey in April and I heard. Point taken.

This bootblack is very cool. I recently bought my first TALL big boy boots. Sixteen inches. No not Wesco
Editing at 35:52 is a bit off.
