Wow lots of stuff happening, talk about exponential growth. Getting much faster for developers to build off each other’s work.
Yeh I can't keep up
I admit I'm not super tech-savvy in things crypto. But I cannot understand the rationale behind things like this DEDI token. Why the hell do you need a token for that? Pay in ADA, if your project in on Cardano, since transacting on the network will require ADA. I wouldn't even hesitate to participate in such a case. But creating a "utility token" with who knows what fundamentals and tokenomics... doesn't make sense unless you're hoping to manipulate it. That's why it's so hard for me to even contemplate participating in most of these projects.
Projects make a token so that they can raise money and use your funds to feed their project. Thats the brutal honesty of a token raise/ICO.
Projects need money to build, they use your money and give you another form of money in return. That other form may or may not go up or down depending on its utility and speculative market. Projects will put in staking programs to stabilise the price, burn or buy back tokens to increase the price etc.
In the end, some of the tokens do well and end up having more gains than the original sale token, especially if they get a good community of holders and delivery on great utility.
From the projects side, having the token helps bring awareness and marketing for their project. People see price go up and go investigate the project. It also may make more sense from an internal economics point of view to reward in their token as their ecosystem grows, it will be at a different pace and rate compared to the funding currency, ADA.
Finally, the the use of a token that can be listed on an exchange means users can exit to fiat via the token instead of ADA. Exiting via a different token helps reduce sell pressure on ADA keeping ADA price high instead of pushing it down as user sell to pay for costs, which would be hardware and electricity in the case of Dedium.

you wrote what i haven't been able to write because english is not my first language but i agree 100%. A project that leverages the hosting chain fully wouldn't even have a token. it woild develop all based on its hosting chain. as you said i guess everybody wants to profit with tokenomics. they ICO and drain profits burning tokens... or they change tokenomics as a way of marketing... hard to trust aye
