- Not sure if you've seen these cheap power supplies before, but they seem to pop up every now and again. We have a look at this power supply and see if it works, and discuss whether it's a good idea to use. It probably isn't even on the PSU Tier list.

This is one of the power supplies that used to come included with the computer case many years ago. I still have one as a testing unit that was used for 7 years in an old Pentium Dual Core and GT210 system. They might be alright for low power computers but the fans were always too loud for me to actually use them for anything
Ths irony of that fan being called Silence lol
This one is still far from the worst. It's an old school 300W unit relabeled as a 500W one. It should have stronger 5V rail (from 25 to 30A), which is nice for some older sytems without the ATX 12V connector.
And trust me, I've disassembled hundred of these and many ones even fixed, so I know what I'm saying.
I can honestly say that I've never seen one of these that doesn't have a loud fan. Either way, these were an instant swap If I seen them in a system. Also, love your content. It's awesome to see someone tinker with old hardware too keep it from becoming Ewaste. Criminally undersubbed Imho.
These power supplies were typical at the time, it was difficult to find quality units at the time. I have actually seen worse.
We like quiet lol
22A on the 12V - not very impressive, a FSP 350W can do more than that
It probably can't even do that much, most of these used to lie on their ratings. I can almost bet this thing will blow up if you put more than 250w stress on it
