I just discovered your channel and I'm a fellow Stopmotion/animator ( teaching to kids), and I find your past and current works inspiring & very helpful techniques
Not here to argue at all, but there is a definite charm to those videos too though. The overall diversity, talent and personality makes this channel unique. The recognition of the upped quality is deserved, hope you will just make creative projects that can still include those topics like the photograph stencils and stuff too if the inspiration strikes you. Best of luck
11:31 this really show the genius and attention to detail behind these videos. When he says "to keep everything starting with an 'r'." the audio goes to the right channel only. Beautiful.
I love when people point these things out so he knows that his effort does not go unnoticed. This kind of appreciation is so validating for me when it comes to things I make, so I can only imagine how much Crafsman appreciates it as well
Thanks so much! :D I regret not mentioning "smear frame"! It's not one I default to but I think I see more people use that term vs. "motion blur", so I'm gonna incorporate it now. :) Thank you again!
:D THANK YOU for hangin’ with me! Seriously, I appreciate the continued enthusiasm despite the video sparse-nicity! :) Crafsman has a feeling we might be fixin to get back in the swing. ;)
I absolutely love how you put the puppets reflection in that shiney thing, you think of everything! There's nothing better than a crafsman video to make a day happy 😊
In the 7th grade I went to a church retreat and John Reuben was the musical guest. I don’t know how he ended up in this video as a model for your work, but that’s the kind of goofball left-field stuff that makes me love this channel.
No matter what you do, on any subject, you always do so in such a positive and supportive way. I truly appreciate that. Your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, willingness to teach, and overall positivity are just so uplifting. Well done, as always. See you next time, CrafsMan
Crafsman... you have a talent not only to make stop motion videos but a talent to explain how to make stop motion videos and then to make the video a video about making stop motion videos... and then this video is also about making a stop motion movie and then it's a video about that too. Crafsman... You're too much, but we love what you do.
You are so welcome! But thank YOU for inspiring me and others! I know it's not always easy to stop and think "I need to capture some behind-the-scenes of this." and actually break away from the task at hand to document it... but it's so neat to see, and encouraging to us DIY folks! So thank you again! :D
Steady CRAFTIN is LIFE!!!!! Love you Crafsman..with everything i have! Thank you and the "CrafsFam" for blessing us with peace/comedy/learning for soooo many masterpiece vids!
Man, you love what you do! I won't lie, one video a month is a looong wait, but that one video is always a highlight. If you're moving away from animation I'd love to see you work on something that pulls together the 3D printer, mold making and the laser (as these are all tools I currently use and I'd love to see how you get them synergising). Thanks for the inspiration - I seriously admire your skillsets.
Rory, thank you so much! :D Transitioning back into putting more full concentration toward live-action episodes, I think we can get back to working out a couple-three videos a month. (And I'm still holdin' out for high-speed internet for streaming - we've got things in place already for that, as soon as fiber or something comparable comes along.) :D Thanks again, my friend!
This is one of my favorite episodes you've done! The attention to detail and creative energy you bring is impeccable. Always get's me in the mood to create something :)
My husband watches your channel a lot and I got drawn into it too now so we both watch it and enjoy your videos. You’re very talented, funny and inspiring! Don’t stop what you’re doing! You’ve gained another follower 😊
My seven year old son is super inspired by your videos! And enjoys your subtle humor and effects added in as well. He wants to make ALL of his toys and things he has. He wants to make his own stuffies one day. Create his own legos one day. He wants to make robots someday. Everything we buy… he wants to figure out how to make it himself. So I knew I had to share some of your videos with him! Thanks for being an inspiration 🌟
Crafsman, I can't tell you how much i appreciate your videos. I use them to show my students that you can work with anything and make anything into art. I love that you always tell the viewer that you don't need the fanciest equipment to make something - you just need the will and some basic tools. Peace and love to you, brother.
Today was a long hard day only two weeks into a long hard two months. I don’t know how you always know to be there when we need you most, Crafsman, but we’re very fortunate you do. ❤
CrafsMan you are too hard on yourself. You keep saying this animation is "okay" or "could be better" but honestly it looks amazing! I take my hat off to anyone even attempting stop motion let alone make it look as good as you do. You are doing some really impressive work and have definitely leveled up your skill level. Don't beat yourself up and instead appreciate your growth brother.
11:46 Thank you for showing this! I make stop motion and I think it looks fine, but then I put it in an editor and then UA-cam compresses the quality so all the hard work looks bad sometimes. It's helpful that you show how you really can fix it in post (some times) cheers!
I'm glad to see that you've been keeping up with your passion, and I sincerely hope that you can one day find a perfect balance between crafting for the channel and pursuing more animated projects.
My partner and I love your videos. He is refinishing our deck - and I told him, remember what Steady Crafsman said and always wear you a dust mask. But he didn't wear him a dust mask!!
Tara, thank y'all for watching! :D And you may be fixin to have to jerk a knot in his tail! Pleeease tell him to wear breathing protection, especially if cutting treated wood. I can't tell you how many times I've run a circle saw, table saw, chop-saw, etc. WITHOUT a mask. It's always later that I regret it, when I cough or blow my nose and think "HOW much of this did I breathe?" Even the regular ol' wood dust is reportedly *not* ideal for the lungs. Please tell my man to stay safe over there!
Dang, Crafsman! Made me want to do more stop motion sooner than later. I wonder how Stickybones would look in a hand knit outfit? Could I make it look like Stickybones was knitting?!
You know, pretty safe to say some artists inside Disney studio know your work. If anyone was to get permission, might as well be you (when the time comes).
Hey Craftsman this video was ace! I’m glad your having fun and have lots cookin in da oven. Honestly the production on this was outstanding. Much love big dawg.
I've been animating Gunpla / Model kits with Stop Motion Studio for a year and the economical solution that has been has been delightful. As far as different ranges of starting animatable puppets the gundam / mobile suit kits have a lot of really fun options in affordable ranges! I am going to try to upgrade to dragon frame this year for some of the more animatory features that don't require touching the camera / phone, but this has been very helpful. I enjoy the stop motion insights very much!
I love your videos crafsman, and love your animated content as well, I hope you things change and allow you to pursue it more soon. One thing I'd really like to see more of are music things from you. I know you have mentioned that you don't really get into the music theory side of things but rather just go with what feels right to you but I'm astounded the kind of atmospheres you create doing this and would love more insight on it. But keep on doing you baby, you really have no idea how much of a difference one of your videos can make to my day, makes my anxiety melt away
Love you, Crafsman ! Funny you reviewed/used "Stickybones" ! I keep getting ads for them, and while I was interested, the cost made it prohibitive! Plus, I tend to do more animal sculpture, so, would already have bought it, had it been an animal ! Entertaining video. Might have to do animation one of these days !
Crafsman, this is such a rich resource! Thank you for your inspiring content - you're leading so many people to explore their creativity and I really appreciate all the effort you put into everything you do.

Genius!
@@sheilaoakley281That’s exactly what I was going to say!
Wow! No kidding! I didn't catch that the first time!🙂
That chicken’s beak animation looked great!
You have come a looooong way from paper photograph transfers. And the whole journey is what this channel is about! Awesome dude
Mac, thank you so much for the kind comment. I seriously appreciate y'all who have stuck with the channel all this time. Thank you so much.

Shout-out to the smear frame on the chicken beak! What a great animation detail done with the actual Lego's. So simple and so smart!
Thanks so much! :D I regret not mentioning "smear frame"! It's not one I default to but I think I see more people use that term vs. "motion blur", so I'm gonna incorporate it now. :) Thank you again!
could crafsman go a month without posting a video and just come back into my life?
absolutely.
:D THANK YOU for hangin’ with me! Seriously, I appreciate the continued enthusiasm despite the video sparse-nicity! :) Crafsman has a feeling we might be fixin to get back in the swing. ;)
Great! Glad to hear it. Was starting to worry about you!
I absolutely love how you put the puppets reflection in that shiney thing, you think of everything!
There's nothing better than a crafsman video to make a day happy 😊
This man is a genius but he will always be too humble to admit it - and we all love him more for it. Thanks for another great video, Crafsman 🖤
I am sure it's hard enough to do stop animation in general but making that robot look like it's dancing naturally feels like a whole other level.
"Diabetes, you know". This man has such a talent for comedy delivery! I can't wait for the full-length version, Crafsman. You're the best!
In the 7th grade I went to a church retreat and John Reuben was the musical guest. I don’t know how he ended up in this video as a model for your work, but that’s the kind of goofball left-field stuff that makes me love this channel.
Holy cow Crafsman, your production quality has shot through the roof the past few months! Your animated scenes are just immaculate.
I love the dog running. Beautiful work my friend.

Onion skinning is great, but the reason people would do this instead of taking their work to a light table (what onion skinning is actually mimicking) is bc onionskin just shows you where things were, but not necessarily how they look in motion, which is arguably as important.
