Just to confirm people. This is 95% the issue for people. I tried it and fixed it with this solution. Mind was extremely loud. Burning smell. I was a little more liberal with the oil. Oil is conductive. So be careful. But it worked perfect. Thanks for the info. I subscribed. Great video. Very direct. Love it.
Many thanks for your video. I need to do that lubrication to my Eureka vac cleaner which it stopped working today even after doing a thorough clean up and washing of its filter and other parts which were all dry when I put all back together.
After vacuuming concrete dust during a bathroom reno, my vacuum screeched like a banshee. Took it apart and now it's down to manageable noise levels again. Saved myself a hundred bucks.
I think the ball/float’s purpose is to stop water from getting into the motor. As it fills with water it floats up and plugs the intake when you’ve reached it’s maximum. Can’t see that it would do anything regarding tipping over.
Hi I have a Dewalt shop wet/dry vac, after using it to get up water, I emptied it but then it barely sucked up any wayer and spit it back out. Do you have any advice. I removed the filter first
I accidentally sucked up a paper towel and it is clogging the air flow....Now it's making that crazy noise....It was fine before the paper towel got sucked in.....Can you tell me how to get it out? It's not in the reservoir or in the tube....Where could it be???
My shop vac has 2.0 Hp. But it won't suck too much. When I connect the long hose, I can barely feel any suction at the end. The suction is even worse than my handheld cordless car vacuum. I would love to know how much your 1.5 Hp shop vac can suck. Would it be able to pick up little rocks or is it just good for small dust?
Should definitely be stronger than what you're experiencing. the 1.5HP in the video will pull at a pretty good rate. Enough to pick up a car floor mat.

Glad it helped
Thanks you are the first to explain how to take an older shop vac apart to see what is clogged if any mine will not suck.

I can appreciate this video. My shop vac is about 25 years old and makes the same sound. Thanks, Man!
