Se il tuo gatto è pigro innanzitutto è importante capire il perché. Potrebbe avere un problema di salute, non essere abbastanza stimolato dall'ambiente, non gradire il tipo di gioco che gli proponi, o forse essere in sovrappeso. Identificare la causa è sempre il primo step per poter intervenire in modo appropriato.
Ogni gatto poi ha la sua personalità unica, quindi quello che potrebbe far impazzire un gatto potrebbe non interessare affatto un altro. Magari il tuo micio è pigro semplicemente perché non hai ancora trovato il gioco giusto che lo stimoli!
Per darti qualche esempio, potresti provare con delle palline di gomma o quelle con campanelli all'interno, o anche semplici palline di carta stagnola. Molti gatti amano inseguirle. Anche i lacci e i fili possono essere molto stimolanti, soprattutto se li fai muovere in modo irregolare per simulare il movimento di una preda. Prova anche a farli sparire sotto un tappeto o una copertina: molti gatti trovano divertente vedere gli oggetti “scomparire” come se fossero prede che si nascondono!
Le bacchette con piume sono un'altra ottima opzione per stimolare l'istinto di caccia del tuo gatto. Muovile su e giù o a zigzag e osserva il tuo micio mentre salta e corre. Se preferisci qualcosa di più automatizzato, ci sono molti giocattoli interattivi che si muovono o emettono suoni da soli, e potrebbero catturare l’attenzione del tuo gatto pigro.
Prova anche i puzzle alimentari: inserendo croccantini o bocconcini nei puzzle, il tuo gatto avrà la motivazione per muoversi e cercare la ricompensa. Puoi anche nascondere i bocconcini in giro per casa o lanciarli per stimolare il tuo gatto a rincorrerli.
Infine, arricchire l’ambiente in cui vive può fare una grande differenza. I gatti amano esplorare scatole di cartone, quindi puoi crearne un piccolo labirinto o metterne diverse in giro per casa. I tunnel per gatti sono divertenti da esplorare e anche tiragraffi, alberi per gatti e mensole possono stimolare il tuo gatto a saltare e arrampicarsi.
