It's not a version of ATR but a pure military design by EADS.

not as good as by new large geared bypass jets. was on heavily loaded 767 and in no time it shot up at 25 + degree angle. just like a rocket engine.
It's good for search and rescue because it can fly at slower speeds.
Until a bird shows up when operating low. Not good for unprepared fields either.
Turboprops are for low speed performance... Cant compare apples and Oranges
