Wow - what an amazing trombonist !!! - inventive and musical ideas, great tone, beautiful clean articulation, spot-on intonation and really handsome too (ok - maybe not that bit, that would be just too unfair !!!).
Just had to say Bob, you slay me! So beautiful and tasteful. I first heard on you Courtney Fortune's Hello Love and I was like, "Really? Really? who is this guy!?" You are now my favorite player, of all the great trombone players. Thanks for sharing and helping teach they younger generation!
Gracias a Bob McChesney por el empleo de las diferentes forma de emisión, nos ayudara muchísimo en la técnica del ligado rápido chapó. Averiguare la forma de hacerme con sus libros.

if you listen carefully they're ghosted but in the doodle tonguing book, which is where this comes from, you will see that the doodle tonguing method makes you play the note just a lot softer
He uses a lip slur on the downward partial. Writes "ah", preceded by usually "da". Because of this, it still pops like it's tongued, and mostly not that ghosted sound of partially there.
Probably the greatist Jazz trombonist on today's music scene. Fantastic tone with unbelievable technique and musicianship.
Not even just jazz, his classical playing is just as piss clean and musical
@@kevinclancy1573 True, and what a difficult instrument to master.Former pro trombonist 35 yrs. Retired. R.I.P. Urbie and Bill.
If Bob did a live version of Carnival of Venice he would own the Trombone space on youtube.

Yes of course. Misty
Well, the first line of the song 'Misty' is "Look at me..." (I'm as happy as a kitten up a tree)!
Do the notes with an x on the stem signify muted notes or something because I heard him play them as if they were normal

How do you play stuff like this?
what the fuck. How the fuck are you this good.
Believe the tune is Misty not look at me, which is part of the lyrics. Beautiful rendition.
Was he reading that? Thats crazy
+Zach Mejia To a degree he read the score. But there's such a thing as a chord sequence, and staying within that framework the notes will blend OK.
What trombone is that?
Lol someone typed look at me he didnt know misty is the reall name
...
I would hate to be the person who had to transcribe the playing!
a handsome trombonist? whaaa?
