If SFAT won he would've played Hungrybox... Good luck with that. Even if hungrybox is rusty, his record against SFAT is still completely one sided. Also, D1's ability to look at the camera while talking to wobbles and blur is quite professional.
This is what separates the God's from the non-gods. The fact that he took him to game 5 doesn't make this matchup any less one sided. sfat needs hbox to be playing like total shit in order to have a chance.
I’m Rick Harrison and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my old man and my son, Big Hoss, and in 23 years I’ve learned one thing. You never know what is gonna come through that door.
I'm Isai Alvarado, and this is my Smash 64. I work here with my old man and my son, Wizzrobe. Everyone in here has a story and a Main. One thing I've learned after 13 years - you never know who is gonna come through that Bracket. (made this OC during smash 64)
Whether they counted game 4 as SFATs win or decided to replay it entirely, mango still destroyed him on the 5th game they played. I would personally consider the set a 3-2 win, but the decision made from the tv messing up would have had the same result whether it was considered the 4th game or the 5th. I don't understand why everyone is saying this was so unfortunate for SFAT when it really made no difference in the end result lol
Because it ruined his momentum. He's going blow for blow with Mango. Then he's told, he didn't win that match and now has to replay it; still being down 2-1 the set instead of being 2-2. Also has to wait 7-minutes inbetween the match instead of going straight into the next, so he isn't warm or as focused. There's a lot of psychology that goes into these high-level competitive situations. As the commentators said "Position wise, he was doing fantastic." "Yeah, that time away did ice SFAT a little bit." You can even see it in his gameplay that last match; his playstyle wasn't as clean or the same when he was improving throughtout the set. Then makes several uncommon mistakes and loses 2-stocks the first minute. Not saying he was guaranteed to win, but ge wasn't mentally all-there for that last match because of that reset period and it was much easier win for Mango then it would have been.
A 5 minute break in between high intensity match does indeed affect the set. If you notice sfat took 2 games to start playing well enough to beat mango
Not only that, but SFAT lost all his momentum after the first game 4 in such a momentum based game. If he had taken game 4, he would have been much more confident going into game 5 since he won the match. Also, having to redo game 4 made him super salty that his work in the previous match wouldn't count, and it puts much more pressure and nerves on him that he'd have to win 2 more games where as he'd only have to win 1 more if game 4 counted.
Yes. Winning tournaments is hard. Dealing with unexpected things is hard. Playing in front of a loud crowd is hard. It's all part of it. It's unfortunate that things should be interrupted and time/effort wasted, but nothing at all could've been done once the TV went out. Play through it.
At the end of game 4, when SFAT threw Mango the tv turned off. SFAT back air'd Mango while the tv was off and Mango just didn't move and lost his stock.
Sfat agreed on doing a rematch(see his reaction to the end?), and Mango won the "actual" game 4, which could have been game 5. The outcome probably was in Mango's favour, none the less. This was not a scumbag move by Mango, it probably wasn't even in their hands.
You can't be sure. Mang0 didn't DI or even try to recover because the TV was off, so it's insanely likely Mang0 would've made it back on stage. After that, who knows?
It may have, but that doesn't make his loss any less a measure of his competitive ability. He didn't lose the game, he lost a potential/probable win. In the end he still went 3-1, and there was simply another match that was canceled out.
Taking away that game changes the entire dynamic for Sfat. He was ready to play game 5, but because he had to replay that game again, he may have played sloppier.
That's not a provable statement, it's just superstition. Sfat never won game 4, he was just marginally ahead in a final stock situation. He had momentum from making a 2-0 to 2-1 comeback, but that momentum wasn't lost because of a break and replay. He got outplayed in game 5 the same way he got outplayed in game 2. Why did he get wrecked in game 1? Was it because the Mango is the crowd favorite? He's just not as strong a player as Mango objectively. If he has problems dealing with the environment or factors like replaying a game, then that's a weakness in his kit that will cause him to lose games. Mango didn't cause the reset, nor did he gain any advantage from it, he simply dealt with it the same way Sfat had to. If he played sloppier in game 5, it's probably just a lack of consistency (see game 1).
vileguy But melee is a momentum based game. With Sfat on the verge of victory with nothing but a simple edge guard to take the game, it must have been devastating to have to play that game again. And honestly Mango and Sfat (when playing each other) are pretty even. SFat 3-1'd him twice the previous weekend.
It's the type of laugh a white guy has was the meaning of that statement I believe.... Sarcasm aside; come on you know what he means! D1 in general sounds very white.
Marcus Rosales but black people arent only in america there are multiple subgroups of people who are from south america and Africa who sound nothing like this so called "black" or white youre talking about in fact the majority of black people dont talk like how you expect them to talk. i just think its an ignorant statement that digresses the black culture
+Dylan Haji Yes I agree, but that's why I used the phrase African American... You know from America, then that's why I referenced culture being a social construct. I guarentee that's what the original comment meant by black, so that's why I used a more specific term in my response. Part of being human is not taking everything so literal and reading between the lines a little. I acknowledge how this can bug you, but I think your question was a bit pedantic since we all know what subculture he was referring to by saying black.
+Newkid 254 No they didn't, the commentators were wrong. The paused to talk it over but ultimately they decided together to give the game to SFAT. The game they were playing was game 5.
The in-game crowd at 8:20 - gooooooooo f-FAAALCOOO!
If anyone was wondering; apparently the T.V. turned off right as mango got up-thrown on his last stock of game 4, that's why there's the delay.
Mang0 + SFAT = Mang0SFAT
Ha!
18:40 Blur: "That's not my TV."
mango didnt propose the rematch. the TOs made that decision. part of the rules.
8:25 Gooooooo, Falco, Falco, Falco, Falco. lol
If SFAT won he would've played Hungrybox... Good luck with that.
Even if hungrybox is rusty, his record against SFAT is still completely one sided.
Also, D1's ability to look at the camera while talking to wobbles and blur is quite professional.
well sfat almost always took it to game 5 and sfat has been playing like a god lately.
and sfat had the closest set with Hbox last year at FC Return
This is what separates the God's from the non-gods. The fact that he took him to game 5 doesn't make this matchup any less one sided. sfat needs hbox to be playing like total shit in order to have a chance.
Hbox, rusty...? He's on top of his game man!
I mean isn't SFAT's record vs Mango also completely one sided minus the recent win at CCC? Other than that he's never beat Mango I think
Was D1's mic an artifact from the 1820's?
thankfully he opted not to talk too much

+zumbaman88 haha good one mate
Th3K1NGT4K3R Thanks just popped into my mind during Isai vs Wizzy when chat was spamming it
That re-do was so cold that D1 had to use the head phones as ear muffs.

@@ZalozisSounds like a skill issue
tv goes out at 12:51
Mango would have won game 5 but regardless that match was so bs it completely killed sfat momentum. Melee is rigged
C O L L U S I O N
Melee isn't rigged, it's scripted
+zoyy2007 the script is real
That rematch of the 4th game was the biggest shame of all time...
Yet what would've been a better solution?
what exactly happened at the end of game 4?
bump
The TV went black as soon as sfat grabbed mang0.
They didn't follow the Script so they had to redo the game.
Phantom 8:25 & 9:29
reddit was going absolutely nuts over this set, honestly if you are the best of the best you don't let a game 4 redo effect you.
yo i had my popcorn, people on reddit made seem like sfat was gonna win the tournament man, it was insane
+JeroCrisis that's Reddit for ya
reddit is fucking retarded
Yes. Winning tournaments is hard. Dealing with unexpected things is hard. Playing in front of a loud crowd is hard. It's all part of it. It's unfortunate that things should be interrupted and time/effort wasted, but nothing at all could've been done once the TV went out. Play through it.
17:06 idk if +Crimson blur ment tournament win or Sfat win but mang0 won dream hack :p in case blur messed up
I saw that nvm
Mang0 looks like melee Jesus
he is melee Jesus
but he's bad
nice attempt to b8, but we all know who the goat is
***** but for real prime mango can't beat other gods in there prime imo
TheSaucyPickle I think he can beat other gods at there prime as long as he is not being cocky like he usually does
Mango won no matter how you look at it. He won 3 games, period.
what caused the redo?
At the end of game 4, when SFAT threw Mango the tv turned off. SFAT back air'd Mango while the tv was off and Mango just didn't move and lost his stock.
Such a tragedy. SFat had that.
I agree,I like mang0 but that was scumbag :/
Sfat agreed on doing a rematch(see his reaction to the end?), and Mango won the "actual" game 4, which could have been game 5. The outcome probably was in Mango's favour, none the less. This was not a scumbag move by Mango, it probably wasn't even in their hands.
+Ciex true but I don't think it would've been fair,I would've just went to last stock
+Arrow Glass or at least give my opponent an advantage that they had
It was either one stock each, 2 minutes or a rematch.
Point is, that it probably wasn't their choice.
wait what happen in game 4? Why did they redo that game?
The TV turned off.
The tv fucked up Mang0's double jump!
+Travis Spence What are you talking about? They've never said the tv turned off.
+ImTxmes - Dutch Pubstomper Blur explained it after the match. The tv went out before Mango could jump.
Shit scripted af, robbed my man sfat
Tv Shut off the moment sfat did the up throw. Hence why mang0 didn't do anything after being thrown.
Cmon SFAT, let mang0 have his bombsoldier d-air
No game 4 redo and the set should have been 3-2 mango
You can't be sure. Mang0 didn't DI or even try to recover because the TV was off, so it's insanely likely Mang0 would've made it back on stage. After that, who knows?
Blur looking good with the beard
OH MY GOD BLUR WATCHED BROOD WAR????
"SFAT tournament win might have just been plucked away by a TV malfunction"
Yea Blur, cuz doing 3-1 is losing but 3-2 is winning?
It may have, but that doesn't make his loss any less a measure of his competitive ability. He didn't lose the game, he lost a potential/probable win. In the end he still went 3-1, and there was simply another match that was canceled out.

***** how does Sfat come back from 0-2 when the momentum is in Mango's favor? Mango and Sfat even? Hell no.
What a script
the plOT THICKENS!
crimson knows broodwar!!!
D1 has a white guy laugh
what does that even mean
It's the type of laugh a white guy has was the meaning of that statement I believe.... Sarcasm aside; come on you know what he means! D1 in general sounds very white.
Marcus Rosales how can you sound a race?
Marcus Rosales but black people arent only in america there are multiple subgroups of people who are from south america and Africa who sound nothing like this so called "black" or white youre talking about in fact the majority of black people dont talk like how you expect them to talk. i just think its an ignorant statement that digresses the black culture

Shit scripted af sfat would've for sure won that game 4
The set was 3-2, Mang0 gave it to him.
+Average they redid the game
+Newkid 254 No they didn't, the commentators were wrong. The paused to talk it over but ultimately they decided together to give the game to SFAT. The game they were playing was game 5.
I hate wobbles commentary
I hate blurrshit
