Looks great! I also get books from the goodwill/dollar tree but I actually take the covers off and use the color of the book itself. More uniform and less busy! Very aesthetic 👏🏾😆
Bianca Price I do the same. I generally only buy/thrift books that are gray or white without the covers.

First, I wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all the dads. Second, we know that your husband is one of the good guys and I'm so happy to know that we can witness some good..my husband is a Navy Vet and his uncle was apart of the police force...I have a 7 and a 1 year old and this time has been hard especially explaining whats going on..because of our family evolvement I want them to know/see that we do have good members of the force and service..I have kept your husband as well as our community of black officers/service members in my prayers..I pray for our community as a whole and especially our kids and men..love all of you🤎🖤🤎🖤🙏🏽

I love the hallway decor and the book cases downstairs. A thought, for the smaller pictures in the bookcases maybe slightly bigger pic & picture frames might manage the space better? Regardless it looks great!

I think you addressed this topic beautifully. I was wondering how your family was holding up especially with your husband being a police officer. I too have close friends that are police officers and they were working long hours because of all the protesting. I think its important that we remember that there are good cops not all are bad. However it’s important that we hold those that are not good accountable for their actions. Thank you ms. Vaughn, I appreciate your content because you are real. This is why I continue to be a subscriber to your channel.

Everything looks really nice. Vaugh you could easily be an interior decorator/consultant because you're a natural!
I think you should of gotten a bigger basket and longer runner to have a more impact. The smaller rug and basket seems to minimize the space. Furthermore since you have a small rug down stairs that just fit the space for a better contrast a longer runner for upstairs will look better. Doesn’t hurt to try it. Just a suggestion

I absolutely love what you’ve done to spruce up those areas. Your entire home has been beautifully and thoughtfully done. I think it’s perfectly fine to not have books on a bookshelf unless that’s the true purpose the shelves were meant to serve. I’d say not to force it. I only have classic, hardback books from black authors on my more public bookshelves. The others are on a closet shelf in the basement. Your commentary about the violence against black people was spot on, and it nearly made me cry tears of black pride when you shared Anthony’s views on the state of affairs.✊🏽
Lastly, it was nice to see Anne’s little toes as she pranced across the console table. 🤣😂🤣
I dont think the upstairs needs a rug personally. Looks better without it. You did a great job on it though. The hallway looks like something that would be featured in a magazine 😊 Love the basket with the blanket. Brings a lot of warmth

Love the console area, especially the basket with the rolled blanket and the area rug! You could also take the covers off the books when ready to switch the look.
Your house is really coming along beautifully. I am a big fan of your decor choices/color palette. For the hallway, I think for the space it's a bit much. I think the rug could have been skipped and it still would have looked really good :)

I have some great books from the thrift store and dollar tree. Remove the jackets to reveal the beautiful but simple colors of the books. Many of the ones I bought were white or gray with gold writing on the spine. Beautiful when staging an area! You did great and gave me some ideas for my hallway table area because it has been a struggle to know how to decorate it!
