187greek, Thanks for watching my video. I don't remember if I asked him to open his mouth or not. But if I did it was most likely because I was trying to distract him. When a patient knows he is being adjusted then he doesn't allow me to make the corrective treatment that he needs. And when he is distracted then I can do a much better job. Hope this helps.
I hate it when people say chiropractors are quacks. These are the same people that have never been to a chiropractor to make their own judgement. Michael Palm the adjustments clear the nerve pressure and restores the body to its primal relaxation. The body is one complete unit, if one thing goes out of place so will the rest. The only reason such adjustments dont hold permanently is due to the patients belief that the adjustment is all that is needed, sure the pressure and joints have been relieved but to completely fix you must exercise the muscles to adapt + learn natural posture. A natural posture is not actually straight upwards either, those that you see standing straight up likely have places needed to be relaxed. To find the natural posture i recommend learning what a pandiculation is and how gravity stacks the body upwards. These tips are necessary not only for health purposes but for efficiency purposes, a relaxed body does not require muscular tension to carry out movements which allows it to be light and flowing, a tense body however locks up and blocks the bodies ability to manipulate gravity.
Phillip, Thanks for your question. You are absolutely correct. Normally I would have never touched this patient without xrays. Actually in my office its always done. So why didn't I take xrays was your question. The reason was I had taken xrays just a couple of months ago and the nature of the new injury was not traumatic enough to justify taking new ones. If he had more blunt force to his neck and spine I would have taken them. Hope this helps.

This is a way better visual of your work than the sciatica video because it shows the interaction with the patient and your skill. I love hip adjustments done right! I got a chill in my neck when I was 7 (1963) probably from being in a draft. Stayed sitting up on the couch for a week. Neck was stiff exactly like this guy. Finally went to the doctor, he said it was a muscle spasm and injected my neck muscle with a LONG NEEDLE, gave my neck a sharp jerk and it was done.
I go to a chiropractor every 2 months just to keep my neck, back, pelvis etc in check and I must admit there is definitely benefits to visiting this type of person. straight spine , no stiff neck. and posture is kept good. this guy was getting more adjustments than I normally get and you can see that its a science in itself chiropractice as you definitely need to know what your doing !!!!! very interesting to watch thanks
Jack Jenkins I reviewed TCM and the basic premise behind BALANCE is similar but I strictly am a BIOMECHANICAL SPECIALIST of the SPINE. What I found is that the NERVOUS SYSTEM has a bigger roll in REGULATING the bodies functions then all other systems. But like I said I like the basic premise of TCM but it's not really very similar beyond that. Thanks for your question.
Citygirl Hope you have been fixed for your pain a long time ago but you needed to see the right chiropractor 👨⚕️ for Torticollis. A neck specialist chiropractor would be what you are looking for. You need your ATLAS adjusted. Good luck 😃
Mr Yo. So said that you would find pleasure in having someone permanently injured. I pray that one day you find it in heart that people are worth helping and that hoping someone is permanently disabled is NOT cool. As for the video. It speaks for itself. 18 years in practice and if you watch the video the patient come in hurt and leaves in much better shape. That's how I want to live my life. Helping people. Good luck to you.
I just had this question this weekend and i will tell you that in my 18 years of practice that has never happened to me. Furthermore I work with a very large network of doctors and it hasn't happened to them as well. However I'm not so naive to think that it can't happen but the occurrence is almost statistically insignificant. You have a much more likely chance of death from taking an over the counter aspirin than from a professional chiropractic adjustment. Thanks for your question.
I have this and it’s recurring problem, it comes and goes. In my case I am unable to completely move the neck to the left. The pain is unbearable, good to see you adjust these. His right side is swollen, glad you fixed this.
Good question Doc. So after all my years in practice. I would have to say that you will never stop experimenting with different versions of this same question. The biggest thing I can pass on to you is that "LESS" is more. As a new doc you want to show what you can do but the body needs to unwind the misalignment and this takes time. If I was you. Adjust the PI and leave the other side alone. See what happens. I've done it both ways. The patient subluxation free is the ultimate goal.
Ive had torticollis a few times and only went to the er and they can only give me muscle relaxer but it didnt do anything, torticollis is no joke i still have random neck twitches and i can even sense when its coming on and that i need to crack my neck or get a deep massage in the neck, shits no joke i literally cry in fear of getting it again
I need this treatment right now.Had been having an acute right sided torticollis exactly like the patient in the video.Very tense right sided neck muscle spasm with excruciating pain, head tilted to left side with asymmetrical shoulders.
Welcome. The best thing to do is call my wonderful team member Elizabeth @ (949) 548-7767 and She will be happy to discuss cost and scheduling 😃. See you soon. Dr Thayer
I feel like I should get adjusted, I have some bad back pain when I’m working like bringing in carts at “ my store” or doing the garbage like when it gets so full that you need to discus throw it in the dumpster lol😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I have done hundreds of adjustments and still have the same neck pain 😆 I don’t think it’s fake I just think only 1 out of 1000 chiropractors are good All of the chiros I’ve chosen have been garbage though Fake
he looks like he's about to cry during that initial adjustment...i know that feeling...blessings on you for helping him and many others...your bedside manner is fantastic, too...kudos!
Always loved this video. You must have unwrenched this guy's neck 3 times? He definitely looked much straighter after the first two times when you got him to take a hike to and from the 8 foot door. After the third neck adjustment he had a brand new neck. Just a treat to watch your expertise in action. Dr. Thayer you are one of a kind. All the best and keep on bringing in more videos.
Hi Ace! Just a couple of questions regarding this case, hope you don't mind answering them : 1. How many times did Michael come back to your office for his torticollis after this adjustment, did it reoccur? 2. What was the purpose of delivering multiple manipulations to thoracic segments? 3. Is it okay to have your whole spine manipulated in one session? Many thanks in advance !
Mr. Hecker. I assume you are a student or a new associate. Well congratulations! You have a powerful impactful life ahead of you. As for you question. You asking the shock absorber question? "If one shock locks on ur front end does the other have to work 1/2 as hard or 2x as hard?" Of course 2x. Makes the good shock overheat (i.e. pain in the hip). My thoughts are fix the frozen shock and help normalize the other. Yes you can do one but by doing both specifically you reach you goal faster.
People need to stop with the hate comments, he seems like a really nice guy with good intentions and also seems to know what he is doing. If you don't agree with then fair enough its not everyones cup of tea. but that doesn't mean you need to be rude or demoralising someone who just wants to make other peoples live more comfortable and easier!
There are a few components to neck hump correction. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Neck Mender Blueprint (google it if you're interested) it's the most helpful guide that I've seen. look at all the extraordinary info.
I like my patients to actually feel their pain. This way we know when we are helping or not helping. I know it's hard to believe but many patients deny feeling symptoms. Have a great day.
The comments pop up in my feed no matter how old the video is. Oh and I have started a campaign to see how my subscribers are doing years later. I’m always curious how ideas and peoples symptoms have changed over time. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤙🏻
airplaneking. Thanks for your comment. Funny when I was in chiropractic school we talked about the same thing you just mentioned. However with 18 years of experience and countless success stories what I found is that chiropractic actually works. Take a look at some of the other videos I have posted. They may be of interest to you. The main reason I post these videos for educational purposes. Good luck to you.
Rita I know it seems crazy but chiropractic works. Read my reply to Mr. Yo. I love helping patients feel better without the use of drugs or surgery. Be it the treatment looks a little crazy on camera. Thanks for stoping by.

Hello Dr. Ace My name is Solomon and am from Africa, Ethiopia. I saw your videos and you really made me cry. My big sister she is 37 and she is suffering from sciatica. She has this great pain in her back also in her both legs and her knee's. She can't walk the stairs, she feels tired every time and she is having trouble sleeping.
Thanks for your comment. I am glad that my video give you hope to help you sister. Hopefully you find a neck specialist chiropractor near you real soon. Good luck. :))
+sarah c anyone who's had that pain knows what he's going through. I consider myself a tough guy and that pain has dropped me to my knees like I was shot by a gun. and he's probably trying to avoid tears lol
That's how my neck was 10 years ago when I first started seeing my Chiro... nothing "placebo" related to fixing a subluxation (as some will claim). Chiropractors are extremely important.
+Ace Thayer Well I might just have to call you up, cause I got wry neck 3 days ago out of nowhere, and has only happened twice in my life both times including now in the past 8 months
I was doing dips and I got this immediate pain in my neck that felt terrible! I went straight to lay in bed until the pain went away it took about 5-7min. Next day went to the gym and did bench press and got the same neck pain on my 5th rep of my first set. In the beginning I thought it was just a normal exertion headache but I figured out I pulled a muscle by the comparison of both of the descriptions. My neck hurt every time I work out or do a fast movement. If u are young this might take a few weeks maybe a month max but if u are an adult it might take a month or 2. I Do not recommend to see a doctor just trust your body to heal on its own. I still have this pain and I’m on my 4th day of having this pain. Also do not panic this pain in the neck does go away but does take time. Do a lot of stretches and massage the part that hurts. If you have dizziness bad eye sight or feel sick while having this headache or pain go see the doctor because it could be symptoms of brain tumour but they are very rare to get so don’t stress right away. I Hope you all a fast recovery!!
I use to believe as you do. But genetics and trauma can definitely change things more severely that just time and stretching will not heal. But I hear you. Hope you enjoy watching my channel. I share many miracles beyond what you think right now is possible. Anyways enjoy. Good bless 🤙🏻
The first adjustment was normal..when he did the second one on the injured side that sound was wicked..there doesn't have to be a loud pop when adjusting..in this case the chiropractor did a good job..thanks for sharing
No thank you, please dis re gaurd anything vulgar on this account everyone this name was hacked by someone but I've made a new account. It is an honor to receive a message from you..I love the work you do and this field, I have urges to learn more and more
I had the same pain, only i had to tough it out and was too scared to get my neck adjusted.. it eventually healed up thank god.. I remember that it made simple tasks harder than it should be
John Nestor, You should definitely go see a good chiropractor. Just because you have less pain doesn't mean you don't still have a problem. If you put it off it will be that much harder to fix down the road. Hope this helps.
So Cal Chiropractic hey man, every time I look to my right, my neck hurts and in general i constantly have to keep cracking my neck because I can't feel just looking straight
Saw this vid and it reminded me of when that happened to me. Went to see my chiropractor and literally he had me push in the direction I couldn't move while he pushed back to tire out the muscle, then adjusted me and took care of it! It was like black magic!
Joseph G I think Chiropractors are where doctors would send you or they would probably just prescribe ibuprofen for pain, so I guess you could say chiropractors are doctors
God Bless you. I had a slip akd fall at work and I couldn't move my neck left. Nurse gave me NSAID 500mg once a day to reduce inflammation. Within 2 weeks I felt no pain while walking. Once off nsaid, pain returned.
Oh my. I’m sorry. Remember drugs just cover up pain. They do nothing to fix the issue. Hope my channel brings you hope and motivates you to get better help real soon 🤙🏻
I ended up in the ER with Torticollis. I thought it was something so much worse. The pain was so bad..I woke up at 3am and could not even lift my head up of the pillow. The ER doctor said a needed massage therapy which I have been doing for the past 2 months, however the left side of my neck is still tight and very sore. I'm glad I saw this video. I will have to find a Chiropracter...perhaps I will get some permanent relief..massage was just temporary.
+clarissaAnn Thanks for sharing your story. I'm so happy that my video helped you learn about what is possible. Please share how your chiropractic experience ends up. Good luck.
This totally happened to me like 2 years ago and it was stick like that for 3 days until I forced my neck straight... I cried so much but I didn’t know what else to do. (Also all the chiropractors in my area were booked for at least 2 weeks)
Dude you're the best I need to come down & see you ... The left side of my neck & shoulder been killing me as well as my lower back & left hip for about a year . Feel like I'm very off balance 😞
Omg I use to have this when I was older and it was so embarrassing to go out. Even skipped a year of college because of it. Thankfully, after a whole year since it started, it got fixed on its own. Best part is I appreciate my life even more than before.
This may sound superficial, but its an honest opinion from a relatively new viewer. You look more professional without the mustache and goatee. Your smile is easier to see. The golf shirt and slacks are much better than some channels where the doctor is in jeans - or even scrubs. Nicely done sir.
Dr. Thayer, I am very impressed with your professional approach. I live far away in Texas, but would feel comfortable recommending you after seeing this video. I hope you will post more. Nice job, sir.
Phillip, I appreciate the positive comment. I have been working as a chiropractor for over 19 years now and I appreciate that you can see that in the videos. I'm always working to create more videos but since Apple has updated IMovie I have had a bit of trouble with the new software. But rest assured more will be forthcoming... Happy New Year. Dr. T
I watch these chiropractic videos with such suspense as if they were TWD season finales. Awesome, satisfying work! By the way you have the name of two guitarists from the band Kiss.
I have the same problem, extreme pain with torticollis (except I have no idea how it happened). It was so bad that I went to Urgent Care for help, and they gave me a muscle relaxer that didn't help much at all. I was still in constant agony, so I went to the ER, and they gave me pain meds and a different muscle relaxer that actually help, but I have to constantly take pills to keep the pain to a level that I can bear. Bottom line, if you go to a hospital, all they do is give you pills and tell you to use a heating pad. They'll rarely do anything to actually solve the problem. If you're lucky, you'll get a doctor who refers you to a chiropractor for some real treatment. I want to go to a chiropractor, but I can't afford one, so I'm stuck with pills that merely cover up the real problem. This guy was fortunate that he could get some relief.
So sorry you are suffering. Hope my video gives you hope. I will pray for you to find a competent chiropractor to help you real soon. Good luck my friend 🤙🏻
Hi Promised to keep you updated.... Had first visit today. Neck & some back cracking, then she broke out something called an "activator" (actuator?) - kind of reminded me of a center-punch like I've used to stamp a divot in metal so the drill-bit will put the hole in the right place.... Seemed to me it allowed her to use a "syringe" sort of motion but get a bunch of spring-power to the end of the device.... Anyway, she worked on the top rib (also taught me I'd been pushing in the wrong place so any benefit was due solely to prying up the clavicle) and at the end there's no question it's down 1/2-3/4" lower than when she started. She also ID'd some other problems I knew about but had failed to mention (yeah, sorta sneaky "test") and straightened them out too. Verdict: THRILLED so far. She did warn me the rib would likely creep back up and might need to be "trained" to stay down where it belonged, so don't be disappointed if symptoms recurred. Seems fair - didn't get this way overnight
Sorry... Anyway, warned I'd be sore from rib work (yup) and recommended things I can do to strengthen the right muscles to help hold / stabilize etc. No hint of quackery, no insane, promises, left with immediate problem solved and a plan to mark it permanent. Any input DEEPLY appreciated - as with all prior as well! Hope this helps someone!
+D Alan Cheek I'm so happy that you found a chiropractor. Just FYI I would NEVER go to an activator doctor but with that being said I'm stoked that you find value in it. Good luck and please stay in touch.
+So Cal Chiropractic please, PLEASE know that I'm not questioning your knowledge or expertise, rather trying to understand... & I NEED to understand (extremely high-functioning Asperger's case).. **MY** impression was (this one may tick off the Ladies, LOL) that she was using a device to give her some mechanical advantage to make up for what she - being female - lacks in upper-body/arm/hand strength as compared to an average man. I should probably add that I'm naturally a VERY "beefy" guy - without ever going to the gym I had a 28" waist and a 52" chest (18.5" thighs, etc) - & very low body-fat) - basically I'm built like a Silverback Gorilla... so to expect a ~110# female to overcome my natural musculature especially in my chest/shoulders & force a rib down as far as she did, I was surprised that little thing in her hand was able to help her get it done, lol... so.... why should I say no to that? AGAIN - trying to understand! A
D Alan Cheek Hey, I totally get where you are coming from. If you feel like it is helping you then I'm happy. Really I am. I just know what an activator does as compared to what I do. The difference is like fire and water. Completely opposite. Hopefully you experience a REAL adjustment one day so you can understand what I'm saying. Really I'm trilled for you. I was just giving you my opinion. Cheers and thanks for your reply.
+So Cal Chiropractic For clarity, she only used it on the rib, she did several neck & spine -manipulations by hand - every one made me go "Aaah" (in a good way, lol)... Do you have any vids on TOS? AGAIN, if you want to email me (remove spaces from my userid (ergo dalancheek) at gmail I could send back xray, and continue to appreciate your help and input!
Would love to see him 1 day later. I recently had Torticollis and no way could I have gone through those adjustments. It took me a week to correct the muscle spasms completely with stretching, going to a chiropractor tomorrow now the inflammation is down.
He was completely healed the next day. Never had another episode of Torticollis. I get why you are fearful. That’s why I made this channel. To show how reality is very different from most peoples impressions of chiropractic. Glad you are feeling better. Thanks for watching my channel. Good luck next week with you visit to the chiropractor ✌🏻
All I can say is look for an UPPER CERVICAL SPECIALIST on google in your area. Do not go to a NUCCA doctor. RUN from any chiropractor that wants to put you on Heat, Electrical Stimulation, Traction, Ultrasound, Laser, etc… You need to go to someone that will ADJUST YOUR SPINE with their HANDS and not a machine. DO NOT try a doctor that wants to work on your body by stretching or strengthening it. Hope this helps. Please Share with us about what you find and how it works for you.
thank you so much..my thoughts exactly...I am a two year bc survivor and I suffer from muscle and joint pain due to chemo.....and now I have great tightness in my neck and shoulders, I will definitely look for a hands on Chiropractor
And again Im impressed!!! Wow. Just awesome. Its a bit funny. Right now Im in pain (cant lift my arm above my head) watching people getting the right treatment. :-) If i ever visiting the USA i will say hello and shake your hand. Big fan
william cepin You will just make it hurt more. The bone that controls the balance center of your body and the nerve in questions needs to be corrected. Anything else will be ineffective. Good luck.
Dr. Thayer. I went to a Chiropractor as a child and almost never received neck adjustments. It was mostly back adjustments and tapping and resistance tests. I have back and neck pain and poor posture currently. I've really been wanting to go to Chiropractor for some time but never have. Seeing your videos made me realize that there are different methods of Chiropractic and seeing your focus on the neck looks like it works wonders. How would one go about choosing a Chiropractor that can be trusted? How would I know if I'm being cared for correctly. I live in La Mirada. Thank you- Nick
nickerfb79 Great question Nick. I'm sorry that you had to experience poor chiropractic for all those years. As for finding a good chiropractor I'm not sure. Most are terrible. I hate to say. Fiaz Art Does not look like it.
Thank you for sharing. It's always beneficial to hear other people's experiences. 🤙🏻
Citygirl Lbrand this is torticollis as well.
Good luck to you.
its interesting that at 2:29 his shoulder looks like it drops in relief even though it hurt to get the neck in that position
The second adjustment you could see his whole body relax. He was still tender but you could see everything relax.
😃
I have this and it’s recurring problem, it comes and goes. In my case I am unable to completely move the neck to the left.
The pain is unbearable, good to see you adjust these.
His right side is swollen, glad you fixed this.
Hope my video motivates you to get help real soon 😊
Good question Doc. So after all my years in practice. I would have to say that you will never stop experimenting with different versions of this same question. The biggest thing I can pass on to you is that "LESS" is more. As a new doc you want to show what you can do but the body needs to unwind the misalignment and this takes time. If I was you. Adjust the PI and leave the other side alone. See what happens. I've done it both ways. The patient subluxation free is the ultimate goal.

Hi Ace! Just a couple of questions regarding this case, hope you don't mind answering them :

I really like this Chiropractor. I have extreme back and neck pain. I visited a Chiropractor here a few times but never had luck.

Well I might just have to call you up, cause I got wry neck 3 days ago out of nowhere, and has only happened twice in my life both times including now in the past 8 months

Hi
Promised to keep you updated....
Hope this helps someone!

please, PLEASE know that I'm not questioning your knowledge or expertise, rather trying to understand...
All I can say is look for an UPPER CERVICAL SPECIALIST on google in your area. Do not go to a NUCCA doctor. DO NOT try a doctor that wants to work on your body by stretching or strengthening it. Hope this helps. Please Share with us about what you find and how it works for you.
