Am amazed that the Charles is so much cleaner than the Hudson, especially in the NYC Metro area. The water there is so polluted that it makes the paint come off the walls of the boat.
I greatly enjoyed watching the HOCR coverage that they had here on YT. Individual videos such as yours add to that fun. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for posting this Eamon . I. was watching some of the 2023 HOC race yesterday and the views were limiting. Although seeing this a year later, it was so interesting to see the entire course from your perspective. I always wondered about the distance and route. I decided to watch your video while rowing my Concept 2 and matching your pace. Really fun and no other rowers, buoys or geese to contend with .

Yes they were! We were the first race of the day and I started right in the middle
you cut a good course and make those turns and bridges look so easy when I know they're not. were you saying base or face a few times? was that to refocus, I'm guessing?
Thanks! Couldn’t give away any extra time to my slow butt. And it was “base” to refocus on hitting my marks on the straights

I switched from Smoothie 2 to the Comps! I like the feel of them a lot

Paired the GoPro Max with an old GoPole selfie stick, extension piece, and a cut up pool noodle to bolster it up a bit.

Was saying “base” to myself to try and refocus in and hit good length, power, and rhythm on the long straights.

From eyeballing it I’d say 30 but idk how accurate I am
