Thank you so much for posting this Eamon . I. was watching some of the 2023 HOC race yesterday and the views were limiting. Although seeing this a year later, it was so interesting to see the entire course from your perspective. I always wondered about the distance and route. I decided to watch your video while rowing my Concept 2 and matching your pace. Really fun and no other rowers, buoys or geese to contend with .
Really great run, there. So glad the duckies at the end gave you their encouragement. Am amazed that the Charles is so much cleaner than the Hudson, especially in the NYC Metro area. The water there is so polluted that it makes the paint come off the walls of the boat. I greatly enjoyed watching the HOCR coverage that they had here on YT. Individual videos such as yours add to that fun. Thanks for sharing.
nice job, i was wondering if you chose to use the comp blades rather than the fat smoothies because you liked them better or were they just the first oars you picked up?
you cut a good course and make those turns and bridges look so easy when I know they're not. were you saying base or face a few times? was that to refocus, I'm guessing?
Awesome, that didn't look so hectic, especially in comparison to the junior 8s. You definitely made the course as short as possible.
Yeah it was a super relaxing race! Hahaha
Beautiful racing this year! Absolute honor to spectate and compete!!
Cheers mate! Was a hell of a fun weekend
Gosh -- you make it look so easy! What a beautiful morning and beautiful row!
Well, slow is smooth, smooth is fast
Well done, Eamon! Thanks for sharing the footage.

@@EamonShorts Thats super cool! Thanks for responding, i’m a highschool rower down in delaware and I love your videos
@@samcaplan4646 ah nice, that’s where I grew up!
@@EamonGlavin Wait what??? I thought you were at Haverford? Did you row at WYRA or WRC or smth?
sorry, i got very excited lol
Great job, you're a machine :D

Thanks! Couldn’t give away any extra time to my slow butt. And it was “base” to refocus on hitting my marks on the straights
a guy at my club placed 13th for sculling at the charles in 2022 -- like the HS division. stan ryan always
also this was lit, good work dude
I have been rowing for cri and this is so many memories
Really nice race! Quick question: why did you take the outside around magazine beach?
LOVE YOU EAMON
What kind of sunglasses do you have? Mine fog up.
Never better race conditions. Great row. Thanks for posting. You hit it on the cusp. Were the guys you passed in the same race?
Yes they were! We were the first race of the day and I started right in the middle
Real great!
Nice race and video. congratulations Eamon . Is it possible to share speedcoach datas. Thanks in advance :)
I took a photo of it and put it on my strava so, that’s all I’m gonna do
Been watching your videos and Instagram and also Cam Buchan. Two rowing stars of social media. You two ever race each other?
Cheers Mike!
Also no have never raced
What mount did you use for the go pro?
Paired the GoPro Max with an old GoPole selfie stick, extension piece, and a cut up pool noodle to bolster it up a bit.
Why not use your Empacher ?
What did you keep saying, face?
Was saying “base” to myself to try and refocus in and hit good length, power, and rhythm on the long straights.
Average stroke rate?
From eyeballing it I’d say 30 but idk how accurate I am
Yeah right along there. That was the goal at least
Just got on my erg and matched you. Its 32spm
@@Josh_Roberts Ergs don't float.
what was the diustance?
4700 meters.
