Thank you for this honesty. I struggle forming a system, finding a better system and never getting organized. I too am caring for 3 geriatric parents in addition to health issues with my immediate family. I gain so much energy from you. Thank you for all you do and keeping it classy.
You are not alone. And it’s inspiring to see someone I have on a pedestal having the same issues as I am having as a 68YO, 24/7 caregiver for a disabled husband trying to keep afloat by reselling. I have also been trying to streamline and free up space and time. It’s helpful to know that a famous influencer has the same struggles as I do.
I just turned 63 and it’s so weird that I’m going thru the same thing as you right now. I’m doing a daily devotional reading of “women who do too much”. I’ve taken a step back from social media, I’ve streamlined my inventory and I’m slowly adding back extracurricular activities 🙂
I looked at my money pile a.k.a. Death pile last week and said No more thrifting this month! I’ve been trying to get it listed and really setting daily listing goals. This is tough to balance when you have a full time career as well. Sales have been okay. Not over the top but I have been making sales daily - even if it’s just one thing. Im looking forward to Spring break (I’m a teacher) and hoping I can get some help to turn the spare room into storage and a studio for my reselling business. It’s exciting to set goals and plan for the future. I have 6 more years of teaching and hope reselling can help supplement my income after I retire. So happy to see things coming together for you!
I didn't list anything the whole month of February, I got Covid for the second time and it just kicked my 60+ year old butt. Now I look like a hoarder and I'm still having a hard time getting organized or motivated. I also have chronic back pain so I have to be careful. I haven't thrifted in a long time, now the cash flow is a problem. Come on spring I need some Sunshine energy to get back in the flow. I love the bins too, but I have to get better at looking things over better before I purchase. Happy I found your channel. Thank you!
Gosh did I need this...I shut down over family crisis 7 months ago.I too have over $50,000 worth of inventory getting more confusing daily.Thank you from the bottom of my ❤️.
Hi Lori. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. You're always progressing you're always moving forward and you're always looking at how you can better yourself. I love that about you. And look at your subscribers I think they've doubled since last year. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're doing great. It's actually beginning to look like a boutique down there. I would love to see Rocco and his friends that would be fun. That look that Lulu Marie is giving you at the end is priceless. She's kind of turning her eyes a little bit and you can see her thinking okay Mom what the heck is going on. ❤️
Thanks Lori for so gracefully verbalizing what a lot of us small business entrepreneurs go thru...growing pains!!! Lori...No pain, no gain. Every failure/mishap is a lesson in what not to do next time...not bring home less profitable items when thrifting, not let your inventory processing system get away from you, not let your inventory get too big/unmanageable....Here's to recognizing the pitfalls and acting on them!!! That's the silver lining!!! Taking steps to recover and not repeat are signs of a true winner...Thrift less Feb is a FABULOUS idea!!! I'm using it to re-gain control...I've got inventory in the spare bathroom tub...I couldn't get groceries in the trunk because it's full of GW bags😑 It's been hard getting back into the flow since the holidays, my birthday and SB weekend hasn't helped, but your transparency and this amazing community has helped me realize life happens, and then we get right back in the saddle...sitting a little taller and more stable😉 Thank you for sharing your journey with us, thank you for telling the good, the bad and in-betweens of small business ownership...no pain...no gain
Oh Lori, don't be so hard on yourself, you are doing incredibly well!! Like life itself, we learn as we go along....no one knows everything just starting out. We have to "try on" new things as we come up with new ideas. And we change as we go along. Our priorities change, social media changes, clothing styles change amd what people want to buy changes. There is never stasis...change is constant. We grow and change...often it's for the better, sometimes we make mistakes. It's all a part of growth. You are a natural at this ..and a pro! You are so very capable at all the things you do!
I love hearing how others list. I take a picture with my Iphone and list right then. I don’t use a spreadsheet at all because everything is on Poshmark and I can access it immediately. I make it very easy for myself.
You've helped me prepare to open a booth. I've started by selling my own personal stuff. I'm 80 and realized that I need to start selling it. It's not easy to part with some of it. It's all packed away and i can't see it anyway. I remarried 4 yrs ago and moved into my husbands house. I have put very few things of mine out. I'm doing well with my sells so far. My daughters handling pricing and setting things up in the booth. She has a degree in marketing, she's got everything setup real cute. I love watching your channel. I've thrifted most of my life, cause I love it. It's so much fun finding something great, cheap you can't live without.
I started 2022 with 2022 items. I panicked. That is 2022 unsold items. I chose to focus my energy on reducing inventory. My 2300 sqft house was more of a warehouse than home. As of today I am down to 1490 listings (1898 items). I can see the progress. I have been listing new items daily but the sales that excite me most are the listings from last year.
I needed to hear this so much today. Thanks for being open and real with where you’re at in your reselling business. I am not an organized person by nature either and I just started selling on Poshmark in October. I’ve pushed so hard so fast, have over 20k followers in a short amount of time and find myself saying wtf and I even doing right now?!! It’s a good reminder to step back, assess My space and inventory and think about where I want to take this. I’m also a restaurant owner which is a whole beast of its own. But I needed something for me, that was fulfilling for me. That is what I want my reselling business to be. I appreciate you. Thanks again.
It’s my second time watching this. I watch lots of your videos multiple times. I’m feeling the same way. I’m trying to prioritize quality over quantity. Thank you for being so “real”. I get discouraged when resellers always show piles of packages. I love resellers like you who show the good and the not so good.
I am sixty and I am extremely overwhelmed this year husband has been in the icu and my home is not clean for the first time in my life my thriftiness items are very dis organized and my life has been way out of balance but I am giving myself grace and not worrying about it
Bloomberg Business current issue has a very interesting article on Jessica Simpson buying back her brand. One of the surprises in the article is just how short the life of a popular brand can be. Creating more challenges for resellers.
Luv your videos. You are the same age as my daughter would have been. She was a reseller too but passed away 3 years ago. I have inherited lots of her stuff and am learning how to resell. Keeps me going knowing how much she enjoyed it. Learn so much by watching your videos. You are such a classy lady!
We have a very similar process with how we use employees. Instead of writing or typing measurements into List Perfectly we started to use photographs showing a cloth tape measure. The entire listing is essentially photos. It leaves nothing to pair together later. We even photograph sku and bin numbers, info that, once input into List Perfectly fields, is then deleted before the listing is published.
Thank you so much for being real. I love that you are honest about your business struggles and growth. I think it’s great to see that even almost 4 years in you have not perfected selling and thrifting. I love it when you tubers are real. When i come across a you tuber that only shows how wonderful they are and how amazing their sales are, I know they are being inauthentic and it also makes me feel inadequate. Thanks for all your content!♥️
I appreciate that you share different aspects of your business. We all learn from both successes and challenges. I’ve often wondered how you, and others, manage to take on so many new projects. I’ve only been reselling since Aug 2020 but have grown my business 10x (from $250/mo to over $2500/mo) and this February may be my best month ever. I’ve gotten so much more focused on women’s clothing (esp. vintage), accessories and home décor. My biggest stress is that I planned to retire in late 2022 (at age 62) and move back to Europe so I’m thinking a lot about what to do with my business. Even if I should consider holding off on retirement for another year or two.
@@LorisBostonFound Thank you - you have been such an inspiration for me! If business continues to grow, I may hire a local person to take over shipping and other day-to-day operations to wind down my inventory. That way, I can help someone else get started (or ramp up) and supplement my income. In Europe, I'll be dividing my time between a few countries so it won't be practical to run a reselling business there...not to mention OMG there's no Poshmark (yet) and package delivery services are not as good as USPS!
Oh, I so needed to see this! I have been feeling pretty overwhelmed by my death piles and chaos! After a 3 day trip to Denver to thrift, I decided to do Thriftless February too! I was really wanting to go and thrift today, but after watching this, I've been encouraged to stay home and organize more! Thank you for your awesome videos and honesty!
Thank you for posting these types of videos! As someone who is just starting to take their reselling seriously it is great to get inspired by your organization and learn from your mistakes
I’m right with you just on my third year I’ll be turning 50 next month family dogs yes. Me and my business always come last after everything else so things get me home. But I’m organizing also have achieved a lot🌸 keep it up girl and definitely take time for U 🤩😘
Thank you once again for being so genuine. So many of us get overwhelmed with organizing. You can actually thrift in February Lori, just stay in your basement and go through everything all over again. Downsizing is fabulous there's always going to be stuff because that's what the nature of the beast is. Buying out estates can feel like a wonderful thing but if you don't have a market for the mass produced QVC and other items then some fortunate you spend time donating. You doing a bang-up job. Pace yourself and realize March is around the corner. We love you, and your content, we can all share in the everyday balancing act especially at this age with aging parents, family, friends and our aging pets.
Didn’t get Brittany’s address…wanted to see what she does with that blouse. Your video was not a downer but more serious about rethinking and getting organized. Very informative. Thanks
Thank you for sharing with us how you were feeling! I think it's really easy for several of us, especially people who are newer to reselling, to get caught up in a lot of stuff without focusing on our business, so it's refreshing to hear your experience with it too. so sorry you were feeling this way but I loved this video because of your transparency!
Not a downer video at all, a REAL moment! I’ve been wondering how you do everything & have time for it all. But in reality something’s gotta give… and that’s okay. It’s nice to see that I’m not alone in the Reseller struggles & I’m sure others can relate too!
I love your honesty. It is tough to have the balance in life. I am behind right now as I fractured my kneecap over Thanksgiving. I am up and around now (worked the whole time thanks to my husband and sister) and looking at everything. You have given me some much needed inspiration. I have some hefty dead piles. I need to get to it. You will get it done and have that feeling of peace.
Thanks for a great video. I too am going through old inventory I am going to use your coupon code for Vendoo crossposting. Tote scan is great and has helped my inventory system. ❤️
Great Video! You gave me a great tip (i think without realizing it) about your milage and that your husband knows how many miles it is to the thrift store. I made myself a chart on how many miles it is to all my thrift stores and now i can just go back thru my receipts and record my milage (i am going to try and do this every month) Sounds like alot of us are in the same boat!
I was catching up on my reseller UA-cam subscriptions while mentally beating myself up so your video is right on time. I did some New Year getting lots of stuff posted that I was avoiding posting for one reason or another. Then I'm like oh my goodness I have no inventory. So I've been out at the bins and at multiple thrift shops and I just had these piles and bags all around my living room that needed to go into inventory so I could start posting. I just kept on buying more and coming home and adding to the mess. So I'm putting these all into inventory and your video came up in my queue and I can so relate it gets to be a lot sometimes but it all works out 😊
I think clothing is one category in which resellers want to feel connected to or passionate about selling. But it's not necessary. I think, for myself, if I can step back and not be somehow emotionally attached to the clothes I source, it would be a lot easier to let them go,
Love you bearing your heart and being honest. A lot of us watch others on social media and compare our success to others. So glad you keep it real and remind us not to think the this is easy.
I agree with higher quality inventory & less of it. I currently have 2,400 items listed. Its a lot. Now if I get an item free, Im not listing it if it won't sell for at least $20. Its not worth my time, even if its free. Time is money & you can't buy more of it.
Luv your channel! Like many others I've gone down the youtube hole since the start of covid...You've inspired me to clear out my closet. You're genuine, knowledgeable and hilarious! I've learned a lot (you're so lucky to have the bins and Goodwill, we don't have that in Canada or the free shipping supplies) I love to thrift shop anywhere all day everyday! And yes we complain about the prices at Value Village! LOL I'm a total newbie to reselling online on Poshmark now and considering Ebay. Love your content!
Thx so much, Lori! I told myself that i wasn't going sourcing until i get rid of my death pile, and then i saw your video and realized I should do Thriftless February too!! I'm with you, and enjoying catching up on all my other tasks. 💜 😊
THANK YOU for being HONEST !you seem just so put together so knowing you struggle too actually really makes me feel better.im 2.5 years in and an absolute mess.i have a small apartment ( no open storage bins in my town}and care for my bed ridden awesome mama w? dementia .and just keep buying .was doing thrift less but then my 50 cent thrift store opened back up today.i spent $40 like oh no!
Great video… great progress! Thanks for sharing those thoughts. We are all evolving as we walk out our journey. I’ve learned not to be so hard on myself.
I love this so much. I love resale as well and my goals this year is to step it up. My bedroom is a HOT mess of my stuff everywhere. I hope you continue down this path and sharing and not get so big you don’t want to do this kind Of content and your thrift hauls. You are a joy and inspiration ❤️
For the very first time I took an ikea bag of clothes from my closet to Plato’s and I was shocked that they took pretty much everything. Granted they were my daughters clothes, Brandy etc. The items I had listed for $15-$20. I walked with $155 in cash and now I’m free from those items. Funny enough, the girls at the shop loved all of the stuff and said please come back soon. Haha! I am setting a goal to only pickup things that I can list for $25+, with of course being flexible to offers and bundles! Anyway it may be worth your time to hit up a reseller and unload some of your older inventory. The cash in hand and freedom from the inventory is a great feeling.
Back to the basics! It's always great to reevaluate and reflect. I think a lot of us (including me 😬) spend so much time thrifting that we lose out on what we can learn my being still! And cheers to not pushing ourselves so hard. After all, we are all running our own marathons!
This is a trend. I've heard so many high volume resellers say they want to shrink the size of their inventory/listings. As a Minimalist, I always knew I wanted to maintain 500 listings only. What's your target number?
I don't think it's so much a trend. I just believe that some resellers, as they get further along in their career can reflect and see clearer what's working and what needs to change. I know several resellers still intentionally growing their inventory. I'm striving to go from 1300 to 1K. Thanks for watching.
I have just started selling on a couple of platforms for about 3 weeks. I am learning much but I have no idea what is normal in how much I should be selling by now. I have 118 listings and I'm pretty organized but I can't help but think I'm not doing this right.....
I am taking a step back this year as well! I am overwhelmed and reeling things in and committing to learn eBay better. I live in the country and I don’t have access to Poshmark type brand so eBay is going to be my platform. SIMPLIFY😊
This is hilarious! I am in the garage breaking down boxes to stack because every room of my house is filled with processed, partially processed, and bags of clothes. Plus 14 shelves of hard goods. So, I was turning on a video for company. This is the first one that popped up. 🤣 Yes! I am participating in Thrift Less, Much Less February and doing lots of listing and organizing. Thank you for suggesting it as I needed a little, well big nudge to STOP buying for a while. Have a great weekend!
Lori, I absolutely love how genuine you are. ❤️ I totally relate to what you are saying. All of the thrifted items just take time to get to, and clutter can be overwhelming for other family members as well (guilty!) I am slowly trying to get organized, develop a bin system, etc. I’m a mama of 4, and working full time, so it’s a lot!! But so worth it ! You have definitely given me the inspiration to put more emphasis on getting organized and reducing the stress. And I would love to see Rocco and his friends thrifting with you. That should be fun!
I love how relatable your journey is, this video is one that really hit close to home for me. Thank you for sharing, and super tackle hugs from the Glam Fam!
I really appreciate ti video-- I spent the last month trying to reorganize my Posh room- I had put it off and off and it became overwhelming going in there- The environment made me feel negative about my selling. I think it's ok to - regroup and especially re-evaluate what we are selling.
This is a great video! You are so forthcoming and sincere. I can't believe you do this all by yourself with just some part-time help from Kaitlyn. I couldn't handle your huge inventory. I couldn't keep track of it all and my OCD-ishness would kick in and I'd stress and want it all out the house. LOL! You do an amazing job.
Thank you for this video!! I needed it. I have been organizing my inventory/photo space. I ordered some items to make a large photo box. Needless to say, it didn’t go well. I now have to change my whole space and redo everything. It’s a total wreck. I see the vision, I just can’t seem to implement it. Hopefully I will have it completed before thriftless February is over. I may be having a thriftless March too! Love your videos!! You inspire enthusiasm and productivity.
I’ve had to take a week off due to a couple days in the hospital and hardly being able to walk since. We have to go easy on ourselves sometimes for whatever we need to recover from.
I relate to your feelings allot although I didn’t have allot of social media I spent way too much time wasting my time. I feel like this year I’m missing 2020 😂 my reselling was way better and I’m missing my motivation these days. Your videos always brighten my day and I’ll get back on track soon! Having a helper sounds like a dream come true!
Hello Beautiful Lori 😍💞😘 Don't Be So Hard On Yourself! You're Doing Amazing 👏🏼🎉Sometimes All We Need To Do Is Take A Step Back To Reevaluate What We Have Going On 🥰 Thank You For Sharing & Being Vulnerable 💜 We All Have These Struggles And This Video Is Very Valuable!! Have A Wonderful Weekend My Friend 😘
I love your videos!! You are very helpful! I’m into reselling (postmark) for one year now. I have been doing well. Made a good amount of sales and I have not done any bookkeeping yet. So I am totally overwhelmed!!!! I do have all receipts and sales reports. But need to input on spreadsheet. Help!!!!! I tend to procrastinate. 🤣
Great process and video Lori! So proud of you! My goals this month are to start eBay and send a box to TRR. I also like to organize my inventory a little bit better. I appreciate your honesty and transparency. Only 17 days of Thriftless February left!
Ha! I've got the same goals this month. Start eBay & send a box to TRR. Have you started TRR yet? I got assigned a rep at TRR and had my first telephone consultation. Good luck!
Lori, I absolutely love your honesty. Your channel has inspired me SO much! I actually mentioned you in my latest Haul video. Lol. But thanks for this video, very relatable! :) ~Gloss and Sparkle
I completely understand my inventory gets out of control. I try to keep my store with handbags only but that has not worked out your sourcing of handbags is low you start sourcing other things jeans shoes and the list goes on. I need to organize what I am currently working on.
Thank you for the great info and transparency! New follower! Question: In your opinion, when reselling women's clothes on Poshmark, Mercari, etc. Should we always stick within the "top brands?" I often see nice off-brands and I can throw together great looks/outfits that look high-end BUT they aren't designer or on the "brands" list. Is that a no-no? I could create a beautiful, curated closet with lesser-known brands that don't have the "resale value" we look for. Is that a waste of time and money?
Hugs Lori! Hope things start feeling a little less stressful. Are you concerned at all that they could go out of business? Can you pull a spreadsheet from there? If it were me I’d pull the spreadsheet once a month and label it for the month so you have a record just in case. It seems like it would be a disaster if something happened.

When i come across a you tuber that only shows how wonderful they are and how amazing their sales are, I know they are being inauthentic and it also makes me feel inadequate.
Thanks for all your content!♥️
Lady… you are not alone… I feel like two years just poof and disappeared… scary
I saved every single receipt:) and that’s how I do my mileage too lol
Right...it's gone by so fast! I love that you do that too with your mileage. It works really well if you frequent the same stores often!
Can’t wait to see what kind of stuff your boys picked up lol.
Congratulations on your growth Linda! I wonder if you could keep your business going in Europe? Best wishes! Thanks so much for your support.
Great video, as always! I'm in the same boat you are, pretty much. I am working hard to get caught up and under control! :)
Thanks for sharing. Obviously, it's not easy...
Thank you Regina! ❤️
I feel your pain!😵💫 Lori, have you ever considered posting some of your "Thrifted is the new black💓" on PM?
I think it would be a sell out!
Yes indeed!!!
I am doing an 2022 no thrift . I have a ton of inventory that will take years to get through so here is to 2022 and onward no thrift
Love your video's Lori! Business always need changes and updates. Take care.
Thank you Lori for your fabulous posts. Would love to see a bins post with Rocco and friends.
Thank you Theresa! That should be my next upload! They were so much fun!
That's what I've done for a couple of years. I start out well recording mileage as I go but by june its hopeless again!
Glad that was helpful! Jay came up with that idea and it has worked out really well for us!
So I'm putting these all into inventory and your video came up in my queue and I can so relate it gets to be a lot sometimes but it all works out 😊
We love you too, I’m a new reseller and I had to get a storage unit to clear my house out, it was heavy on me. Thanks for making this video🙏🏾❤️
Can you please do a video of how you photo the items? Maybe you have one already. Your photos look amazing. Do you edit them a lot? Thank you!!!
I think clothing is one category in which resellers want to feel connected to or passionate about selling. But it's not necessary. I think, for myself, if I can step back and not be somehow emotionally attached to the clothes I source, it would be a lot easier to let them go,
Your self assessment is vital for your life and business. Brava! All of your points are helpful for me to hear. Thank you.
Thank you Debra!
Love you bearing your heart and being honest. A lot of us watch others on social media and compare our success to others. So glad you keep it real and remind us not to think the this is easy.
Thank you Gretchen! ❤️
And Yesssss For Rocco & His Friends Going To The Bins 🥳🥳🥳
I do everything alone and with no help it's maddening.
I too do everything alone but it's better than being angry with someone else because they don't do things my way LOL!
I agree with higher quality inventory & less of it. I currently have 2,400 items listed. Its a lot. Now if I get an item free, Im not listing it if it won't sell for at least $20. Its not worth my time, even if its free. Time is money & you can't buy more of it.
🥰You are so encouraging, Lori💗 Love your channel🌷✨
Lori try to pick only three sometime at a thrift store
Luv your channel! Like many others I've gone down the youtube hole since the start of covid...You've inspired me to clear out my closet. You're genuine, knowledgeable and hilarious! I've learned a lot (you're so lucky to have the bins and Goodwill, we don't have that in Canada or the free shipping supplies) I love to thrift shop anywhere all day everyday! And yes we complain about the prices at Value Village! LOL I'm a total newbie to reselling online on Poshmark now and considering Ebay. Love your content!
cupcakes and cashmere does ok for me....
I do the SAME thing with receipts and mileage! It adds up - definitely worth doing.
Thx so much, Lori! I told myself that i wasn't going sourcing until i get rid of my death pile, and then i saw your video and realized I should do Thriftless February too!! I'm with you, and enjoying catching up on all my other tasks. 💜 😊
Gosh everything is really looking so good!! You've done a ton..congrats!
Thank you so much Dawn. Slowly starting to see an end in sight!
Thank you so much for your transparency. I am focusing on reducing my money pile this month and reorganizing my unlisted inventory.
Lori!!! Where can I get the hoodie !!! ?!!!! I tried clicking your website link and it’s not working
Is this your merch? Love love love ❤️
Great video… great progress! Thanks for sharing those thoughts. We are all evolving as we walk out our journey. I’ve learned not to be so hard on myself.
Lori did you purchase a photo box a big on to get the good pictures? If so, can you send me a link?
I love this so much. I love resale as well and my goals this year is to step it up. My bedroom is a HOT mess of my stuff everywhere. I hope you continue down this path and sharing and not get so big you don’t want to do this kind Of content and your thrift hauls. You are a joy and inspiration ❤️
Hi, Lori! I'm Laurie :) There's a saying I love: "Give yourself grace"
You. Are. Awesome. I truly enjoy your videos❤️
Thank you so much Laurie! ❤️
Glamma thank you so much! I felt like I hit a wall and wanted to share how things were really going! Super tackle hugs right back atcha!! 😘❤️
Not a downer at all! Sounds more like clarity and focus and moving forward. smooches.
Thank you for being so open and honest Lori❤️You are an inspiration and give me the motivation to get my reselling game in order!
Thank you! ❤️
I’ve had to take a week off due to a couple days in the hospital and hardly being able to walk since. We have to go easy on ourselves sometimes for whatever we need to recover from.
I hope you feel better soon Joanne!
Growing pains. I enjoy your videos.
~Gloss and Sparkle
I completely understand my inventory gets out of control. I try to keep my store with handbags only but that has not worked out your sourcing of handbags is low you start sourcing other things jeans shoes and the list goes on. I need to organize what I am currently working on.
I love when people can hone in on a few categories. I've never been that disciplined. Good luck with your organizing Devonne!
@@LorisBostonFound I love reselling!!!!
🙈🙈🙈
Check out Daily Refinements channel, it helped me clean things up. I'm not a ft seller, but his tips helped.
I hope you're making progress and feeling great!! 😘
There is an App called MileIQ that I use to automatically track my mileage. I recommend it highly.
