I was raised in Protestant churches (Baptist, Methodist, Nazarene, church of God, and Assembly of God). Due to many different reasons, I haven’t been to church for several years, although I always read my Bible and pray regularly.
Several months ago I prayed for my husband to be our family’s spiritual leader and I also prayed to be closer to God. The next day he pokes his head through the bedroom door and says, “we are converting to the Orthodox Church. “
I was raised to view the Roman Catholic Church as pagan so when I looked up the Orthodox Church, I instantly put up my guard and researched with the intention of finding contradicting beliefs. I found nothing but clarifications of my own beliefs that are firmly rooted in the Bible. As a matter of fact the more I study orthodoxy, the closer I feel to God!!
He answered both my prayers and i couldn’t be more excited and anxious to become a part of the Orthodox community.
Converted to Holy Orthodoxy about two years ago, previously baptist.
Please keep doing these, there is a remant of sheep lost seeking God's Holiness here in America.Praise be to God.
@@MountainJohnsame as well, the churches in america are not churches, theyre fake, im sick of it it honestly leads to more harm than good
I was raised Protestant and I believe I may being led to orthodoxy. I am in prayer about this. Please pray for me. May the Lord our God bless us all and lead us closer to him and to the true reflection of his church on earth.
Please pray for my wife Cathy and me. I want to be Orthodox, but my wife is against it. Thank you for your prayers 🙏 Daniel and Cathy
I'm quite happy to see the increase of people coming into the fold of Orthodoxy! I made my conversion journey 2 years ago and it's been everything I ever wanted. Really interested in all of these new instructional channels helping me deepen my devotion.
I live in Dallas, TX and our parish has droves of catechumens and inquirers as well as non-Orthodox visitors! It is a beautiful thing for sure.

I am Catholic likely converting to Orthodoxy soon
St Ireneaus (Against Heresies book 3 chapter 3): … by indicating that tradition derived from the apostles, of the very great, the very ancient, and universally known Church founded and organized at Rome by the two most glorious apostles, Peter and Paul; as also [by pointing out] the faith preached to men, which comes down to our time by means of the successions of the bishops. For it is a matter of necessity that every Church should agree with this Church, on account of its preeminent authority…
@@lucyangeles how do Catholics not understand that he was simply using Rome as an example for proper succession and teachings. It's such a monumental reach to say that quote implies a papacy of any kind
I make a sign of the cross when entering and leaving a Protestant church as well it opens up conversation about the orthodoxy. Granted rarely do we find ourselves in one but some events like scouts take place in a Protestant chapel.
Прав, мое почтение и личная благодарность.
Nice and lucid exposition. Your description about how different Orthodox churches are was hitting the nail on the head. My very zealous cousin once took me to her church and it was exactly as you described it; lots of interaction with those around you, the sermon... then I went to a Greek Orthodox church and, in comparison. well... I just sat there wondering what was going on and was I maybe doing something wrong. But between the two, yes, Orthodoxy for me.
I was raised Pentecostal. Years ago I had lost my faith but last year I rediscovered my faith. I follow the Russian Orthodox faith. I have attended a Greek Orthodox Church in a few times. I mainly watch services from Russia
love this video thank you!
This was beautiful!
God bless you ☦️🛐❤️
Very well said!
How true,in Jesus name..Amen..
But why so negative to begin with? I grew up in a protestant church with my father the music director. Many happy memories. Yet I still felt the need of something deeper, something that flows from the very depth of the heart. And that is why I became orthodox.
Great brief explanation
What is the chant that plays during the intro and outro?
Was Saved Protestant, Became Orthodox!!
When in Houston, visit Annunciation Cathedral It will take your breath away.
Orthodoxy, the best kept secret in America, the undivided church
I'm a native Brit who used to be Eastern Orthodox. I left in 2012.
@@cuttlefisch it normally is , forgive me for asking and an expecting a simple answer. I hope you weren't hurt by anyone in the church as this Happens all too many times. If you havnt given up completely you might want a look into the Celtic orthodox church (non canonical but apostolic procession is legitimate and so is the apostolic teaching is there from its begining, the history is clear also).
@@lapun47 No thanks. Never felt welcome in all my time in the Church. That ship has sailed.
Circumcision ten commandments kosher meals and abstinence from idols worship 🛐 we orthodox Christians should practice it religiously to welcome Christ
Very informative. Im a Catholic. But I see the flaws. Is Greek Orthodox more aligned with Jesus than the rest ?
What flaws? It’s the Church Jesus instituted and worships as such. Orthodoxy is mostly theologically sound and does have Apostolic Succession, so I’ll give them that. But they aren’t universal and in communion with Rome
@@CarlosPerez-lr3zb He meant Rome, but thanks for this, this will help me in understanding the religion more...
No Orthodox Church anywhere near me 😢
can converts get baptized
Thank you & GOD Bless! ☦️ 🙏🏻
I am So confused….the symbol behind you is Celtic paganism isn’t it? I’ve been looking into Orthodoxy trying to find the right church but I’m worried that it is too much like the Catholic Church…worshiping idols and pagan traditions. Someone please help.
Read the Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Romans, front-to-back. Do it in one sitting, if you can. Notice what he says about justification. What does "justified" mean, anyway? What does justification have to do with salvation as a whole? What you need to do from there will be evident to you.
The idea of Logos Spermatica allows seeing seeds of Truth in other cultures and traditions , even pagan art….. thus Celtic knot of wisdom seen as the Trinity is ok
@@Enne_esse when you say “you people” I am assuming you mean people of faith and that perhaps you are not. If that is the case I find it inspiring that you’re here…on this video…because maybe you’re looking for a relationship with God Jesus. And when you do…we will welcome you with loving arms. ❤️✝️
Creepy 🙏
Hello, with all respect to you orthodox brothers I want to tell 1 thing. Catholicism is the only truth. Why do I believe so? My main argument- If you look at the world orthodox Christians are mainly found In eastern Europe in a few specific countries(I'm nit saying it's only there but the biggest percentage of orthodox Christians are in those few countries) . Catholicism is found everywhere. It's not specific to a few countries but it's found anywhere in the world. I absolutely do not want to be sending hate on orthodoxy. I find orthodox music really good and all of the traditions as well but I accept catholicism as truth and I wanted to share that, because that is what we should do with knowledge. Share it to others and not keep it to our selves. Knowledge comes from God so we should not be allowed to keep it to ourselves.
All of this nonsense explains nothing of Christ and brings you no closer to a relationship with him.
I was raised Protestant and I believe I may being led to orthodoxy. I am in prayer about this. Please pray for me. May the Lord our God bless us all and lead us closer to him and to the true reflection of his church on earth.
Just go to your nearest Eastern Orthodox Church ❤
