Beyond being a dancer and choreographer, Mdm Yan has been a dedicated arts educator in fostering dance within the community and nurturing budding talents. Her dedication and talent in dance, together with her capabilities and commitments, have led to the founding of Yan Choong Lian Dance Troupe in 1988, the establishment of Dance Ensemble Singapore in 1993, and a contemporary Chinese dance company DES Arts in 2004.
Under her steadfast leadership, the Ensemble has participated in numerous major local events like Festival of Arts, National Day, and Chingay parades!

身为一名舞者和编舞家，严女士一直致力于艺术教育，积极培养舞蹈人才。因为对舞蹈有热情和才华，加上自身的能力和坚持，她在1988年成立了舞蹈团。随后，分别在1993年和2004年成立了新加坡聚舞坊和聚舞坊当代艺团。
在她的领导下，聚舞坊参与了许多重要的大型本地项目如新加坡国际艺术节、国庆日和妆艺大游行！
