Honestly when I heard Utopia on the preview it hit me hard and it's the reason i bought the album. Out of the two albums i really like wave, but like you said they're both really good and are both different feelings in general. Also on the bias thing I didn't pick hongjoong, he picked me and then I just adopted San and jongho as my sons. 10/10 ateez is doing great and I'm so proud of where they're going. They work hard and they have yet to disappoint me with any of their songs.
I'm on my finals and i've been repeating this album while studying and been loving them from the first time listening. ATEEZ really need the love they deserves!
yaaassss, I was so happy you looked up the album, they're all good. I think I just preferred Illusion to wave (though Aurora was my fav from the album) due to the tropical house vibe wave had and how they did 1-2 other songs in the vein.

I read on twitter that illusion was just an illusion and that wave is reality or something like that. And it makes sense with how the songs are listed on the album.
Just got into Ateez like about a week or 2? don't know how, think youtube recommendations... but FUN FACT, hongjoon/group leader actually composed 'aurora' in fact you didn't know yet!! It seems like you really enjoyed it
so in the album there's utopia first, which means "no where place" (roughly), saying that a utopia is basically a figment of your imagination, or an illusion. illusion is the song that comes next in the album. they then wake up, and there are songs like aurora, cresent and wave. they wake up to the ocean, which you can connect to their earlier ep's, since in the first one they are portrayed as pirates. say my name was them trying to get away from their lives, wave and illusion are them on the ocean becoming pirates, and i assume their first ep was them achieving their dream. because of this, i doubt there will be another treasure ep.
I literally had a dream the night before the illusion mv teaser was released and in the dream I saw the mv teaser. It was nothing like the actual teaser, but in my dream there WAS a pretty chunky gold monocle that actually looked a lot like the magnifying glass San was holding if you pop off the handle
They actually hit the WOAH a lot in Illusion. Gotta watch their live on Mcountdown. Wave is so summery vibe and chilling. But UTOPIA made me cry and goosebumps ✊🏻
