Ah good old times. Mario Forever was the game that introduced me to Mario, despite being just a fan-game. It's kinda sad that the game's quality degraded by a ton after version 4.4 when Buziol added a shit ton of weird graphics and events into the game and later bundled the installer with malware [Version 5.5]. For me Ver. 4.4 is the last I consider good. Atleast we have the Remake from TheMarioVariable. Still a great game.
