Great reaction! I love this one (as I do Atonement and Chemicals), so I constantly trawl for reactions to it so I can enjoy watching people hear it for the first time. Kia Castillo’s cleans are beautiful as usual and emotionally affecting with their melancholy feel, whilst Janel’s harsh breakdown adds a wonderful impact and she’s so great at it. I love that Janel gets to show off her cleans too in this one. I was reading an interview in which Kristen Sturgis mentioned that the lyrics refer to her feelings - when not working in the band, she is a critical care nurse, and it references her feelings having seen such suffering and loss of life (especially with the pandemic) whilst not having the time or opportunity to stop and process it (or recover from its impact), so you have to push it down and carry on, while the pressure builds dangerously. Very thought-provoking and well-expressed. 👌🏼👏🏼
