Just buy one. I have been retro gaming for a long time and this is a must have item, it has a nice set of useful features and it is nice not having to clean games all day.
@@RetroRivals Very happy with it, having the ability to play hacks, homebrew games and games from every region is a big plus. The menu is snappy, game genie support is nice and large amount of save state slots helps on some games, this feature is handy if you have more than one gamer in the house. It is a quality product and worth the money. I wish I had bought one 9 years ago when the original version came out, but back then I was buying mint cartridges for $1- $10 on average from hock shops. The prices are crazy now.
How's the colour accuracy from these emulated NES games running on an Everdrive N8 pro compared to the actual carts, when displayed on a CRT? Because NES games always had dark desaturated lifeless colours through the Wii, Wii U & 3DS's Virtual Consoles, and even now with Nintendo Switch Online's NES service. Where as with the actual carts of whatever game, the colours appear vibrant and super colorful. It's literally night and day. Maybe it's just a limitation of how NES games are emulated? :P
@@davidbrennan5 I'm guessing an NES game running on an EverDrive N8 Pro, Vs a MiSTer/MiSTer Pi should look intical as well as far as colours are concerned. Guess i'll bite the bullet and score an N8 and see for myself. :P
I’ve added everdrives to all of my retro consoles and they have been a quality products so far and I have the top of the line ones for each consoles and I’ve been using the game genie codes on them which is neat and other features on them and been playing rare games on them that I couldn’t get otherwise because they’re ridiculously expensive and I’m working on getting odes for my cd based consoles which work similarly to my everdrives on my console and I have them all hooked up to my crt tv with a couple of composite video switch boxes and also a couple of component video switch boxes as well and been a happy camper and I even have a harmony encore flash cart for my Atari 2600. 😊
Yeah, when you add up the overall value you get out of your everdrives versus what it would cost to buy the games individually on cart, it's astronomical. One of the first games I played on the NES everdrive was little Samson. No way I was buying that. Since then, we've also added the SNES everdrive and a knockoff brand for our TurboGrafx. I think the next one will pick up is Genesis.
I have the turbo grapfx, nes, snes, gameboy, neo geo pocket, and just picked up the one for n64. Only everdrive left that I want is the one for the sega genesis! So yea, I have a few! lol They are all great and work perfectly!
This is great to hear because we are certainly looking at picking up more and maybe my mom will indulge me with one for Christmas. I'm lucky to have parents that support my gaming :)
I think it's that physical media feel that swayed us. It's being able to put it in the console like you would any other nes game that had us. Certainly something we appreciated adding to the collection.
Amazing it plays with no lag , pretty awesome , seems well worth it. Glad you enjoyed the rom. Scott, I have some pretty cool NHL94 hacks too!! Updated rosters! Old school rosters, etc. 😀
Great video as always. Loving the T-shirts at the start as well, especially that Harley Quinn one. I really liked how you had dual cameras to get different shots and angles, that looked pretty sweet. Probably something you already thought of before, but instead of holding the phone whilst recording the 2nd angle, maybe just have it placed on a tripod looking down at whatever you unboxing. I am pretty sure you will probably play around with the angles, so that is something i'll look forward towards for sure. I was cracking up on how Scott was trash talking during the mario hack but he died first haha, watching y'all play together like this is pretty entertaining, especially with trash talk! It was cool to give an overlook of how to load roms in step by step, i am sure that will save a lot of people time and effort and they can just follow your steps. I always thought everdrives were cool because it lets you play on your original hardware. From what I seen the majority of games on the consoles work with no lag or very little lag, it seems with this nintendo one, there was no lag, as people mainly notice it with mike tyson's punch out. It also gives you a chance to play games that are 'stupid money' now and again on the original hardware which is cool, and as an adult , we sometimes need save states , gone are the days we can leave our console on all night praying our mom won't turn it off at night haha. The only thing for me is, when I have such a large selection of games on one cart, I can't focus on one game, I play one for a few mins and Immediately have to check out another game , which is why i don't really get one for myself at the moment. I have hacked my SNES /Megadrive mini but again i think it's really cool to test games before buying them , can save a lot of money that way not getting a crappy game. Again, great work guys, It's cool how you also included a preview of the next video in this, i don't think i've seen any gaming channel ever do that, so it's new and unique and it definitely worked, as I really want to see the next video now.
Thanks so much Loco. I actually found it at a local pawn shop. Matt's Media has all the awesome tees. Definitely going to play with more camera angles now that I have a power supply for my old nikon and a new cell phone. I've been toying with the idea of a cell phone tripod but hadn't followed through yet because my old iphone was OLD and didn't have great video. I see an amazon package in my future lol. I know right, he showed me up on duck hunt but he ate his words at SMB. We love everything about the everdrive. Money well spent for sure and we noticed that reading the manual was kind of confusing when it could be so much more easily explained. It does indeed make it hard to focus but at some point I really wanna put some time into one game at a time. Scott is currently playing through Zelda II. Thanks so much Loco. It was a nice perspective to give and I feel like it added a bit of something so I'm happy you mentioned that.
Great PSA video! I've had the N8 Pro for a little over a year and it's a great tool in the collection for me. I bought it with two main reasons in mind: to be able to try games before buying complete copies like the days of renting, and for playing games not released in North America/translations (like Mr.Gimmick *PAL release*, Langrange Point, Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa!, and many more). I had always dismissed Little Samson, figuring it was probably a lousy game that was expensive due to limited release (like so many are), but was surprised that the game is awesome! I was finally able to play Konami's futuristic space RPG, Langrange Point, in English; the N8 Pro has been a great addition! There are some nice audio perks (like with Castlevania III), and the addition of dozens more save state slots is welcome over the previous N8. I got the FXPack Pro for the SNES at the same time as the N8 Pro, and it's just as awesome. I'm glad to see the two of you are having fun messing around with the unit, and the ROM hacks as well ;)
Thanks so much Shayne. I'm pretty excited to try all these games that would be otherwise out of reach for us too. It's that feeling of having the physical game, the illusion of you could be holding any cart in your hand and ready to play it like it's the 80's all over again. I think the SNES pro will be our next add-on and luckily we have a few great youtube friends that will feed our rom hack addiction :)
I have 3 of them. 1 for Nes, Genesis & the N64. I have the FX Pak Pro for the Snes. The best one out of those is the Sega Genesis one. It can play Master system games, Sg1000 games & Sega CD games. Be aware some games will require you to own a 3 button Controller for Genesis such as playing Golden Axe 2, & also you'll need a Sega Master system controller if you want to play games such as Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Bomber Raid & other titles. It's also the best because you can put like 20 Game Genie codes per game. You can turn that on & off really easily unlike the Nes one where if you put in a code you have to go into it & erase the code if you want to play that with no codes then look up the code again & put it in. So the Genesis codes stay there. I say this is 90% excellent. You will get some game in here like the hockey's if you press up & start the or you press to many button combinations in fighting games etc the thing will reset on you etc. For the hockey's & fighting games I do have the original games.
