Although I'm a first officer for a Canadian airline I still enjoy watching these videos as there is always something I can glean from them. Keeping calm and not being overly concerned about previous mistakes is the best way to go during simulator training. Thank you for the helpful, and often overlooked, advice!

HelloNice videos, it is always nice to see the effort some people make to promote our profesion. I have a question/suggestion, we have seen how it is an OPC/LPC but it will be nice to know how to prepare to face those events, on this way I can use some tips for my next LPC/OPC. Keep up the work

    Hi,
Your videos keep improving; I thoroughly enjoy watching them.
Please could you do a video on missed approaches and go-arounds (e.g. when, why and how to conduct them, when it is safe (or unsafe) to land and what kind of training you're given about them.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!

OK, thanks! Also, during your training, are you taught about famous aviation accidents (from which a lot can be learned and improved)? Are you taught about the causes of previous accidents and incidents so that you can learn from them and be aware of them whilst you are flying?

These videos are VERY helpful and insightful, as they are not some "I know someone who's uncle is a pilot and he says...", but decent information from what I believe to be a very trustworthy source. I have one question though: pilots are trained and rechecked every now and then, to make sure they are on top of their game, but how would the airlines react, if a pilot was to make a minor or major mistake despite all the training?
Thanks for the videos, keep 'em coming!

Hi Mentour, love your videos, please keep them coming, so inspirational and informative. I was wondering if captains ever fly together or if they could if needed to cover for an ill first officer for example. Are captains kept current with the drills for both left and right seat flying?

Dear Petter! How do you see, how many pilots will need for the industry for the next couple of years? If everybody starts his training from PPL and wants an airline carrier. Thanks for your answer and your very great video blog! I love it!

hi mentor, love the videos :-D what did you do to become a pilot, e.g. what flight schools and where, and what would be a better way to become a pilot, if there isn't a lot of money available, thanks

How many hours have you done and how does someone accumulate over 1500 hours to start with a small domestic regional airline i'm from Australia. KEEP UP THE MOTIVATIONAL CONTENT.. Aviation dream/goals!!

Good video.......It would be cool if you could video document a day on the flight line. Do a show with you and your crew conducting pre flight. Document engine start up, take off, cruise and landing. Introduce the first officer, purser and number one flight attendant... JohnnyCharles 61

I think that an extremely interesting subject to cover would be how on earth a pilot is generally trained for a potential 400 different system failure or emergency response scenarios or is it ultimately just a matter of getting on the radio and being put in contact with a specialist in that given area?
My name is Eric Culpepper, I am a 46 year old 27 year veteran international trucker who is very interested in making the transition to commercial aviation in time to catch the wave of expansion that is projected for the African Continental Aviation Industry which is projected to need 900 new aircraft and more than 9400 new pilots to fly them by 2025.
I am also very interested in your thoughts on Mach 4+ hyper-sonic commercial passenger flight and low orbit flight, which is supposed to be available by 2030 and are supposed to reduce flight time between any two global positions to one hour...

Great video! :) I have suggestion, would you be able to for example: mount a gopro on your side before pushback and letting it record during the departure and make a video out of it?

The father of a good friend of mine at school (sadly that's a LONG time ago now, lol) was a very experienced long-haul pilot for QANTAS. He was a Brit, and had previously flown for BA before moving to Aus.
Remember the BA 747 flight that had all 4 engines taken out by volcanic ash over Indonesia (the weather radar didn't detect ash at that time)? Flight 9 in June 1982 for anyone who wants to look it up.
Here's the creepy bit: my friend's father told me (at cricket on a weekend as his son and I played in the same team at school) that the pilots had been given exactly that scenario in their sim tests only a month or so before the actual event, and were all laughing in the sim saying "as if that will ever happen". As far as I know it is the ONLY occasion that has ever happened to a 747.
Well, that's what I remember him telling me, so I assume it was true. Talk about coincidence; get a bizarre sim test then have it happen for real.
    Enjoying all your vids.
    Cheers

      *****
I'd be telling the people who run the sim "last time I had happen in real life what you did in here the week before; so be careful just what you give me this time, ok?".
      LOL
      Keep safe.
      Cheers

Hi Mentour great video and I have a question for you. I am nearly finished Secondary school / High school and want to become a pilot. Would you recommend going straight into pilot training when I'm finished school or go to College for a few years and have something to fall back on if the pilot career does not work out. Thanks !

+Olajide Lateef Learning grammar and spelling would be a good start. But in all seriousness: it all depends on you and actually the country you live in. Since you are here, I guess google is around the corner. I can tell you this though: you can't be a minor when getting your license, so that should give you some orientation..

If your English/American you don't need to worry about speaking English. and it's easy to apply for an airline. You just need to do it online and move to were ever your base is.

James Gibson I think if you fail the first time you have to go through some retraining, but if you fail again, you are vulnerable to losing your job. That's what I think, I'm not 100% sure.
