This song kicks off with one of the best vocal yells ever. That “If its groove you’re looking FOOOOOOOOOOOR” was so strong but so stable, it sounded so great. If I ever get famous and get chance to sing a cover of any song, I want to sing this very first so I come out the gate swinging

Funny thing, I originally had a metal type guitar solo that I had completely written out for that part (I don't know why, it didn't fit one single bit). So I showed it too some friends, and they realized that solo obviously didn't work, and I wanted to the get the song out that day, so I quickly recorded an improvised clean solo and then put it up. If I could go back now, I would totally make that a saxophone solo :D

Came back here cuz I'm a bit stressed out. My school has been cancelled and we are having online assignments all next week due to the corona virus. My mom has health issues which means if she gets it she will most likely die or come close to dying. I wanted something happy and inspiring from my childhood and ended up back here after finding myself humming it randomly. I'm now cheered up about my situation and am going to try to be more positive. Sometimes life can be bad but I'm going to get through it. Love this song and thank you for making it. :)

Funny thing, I'm in a situation that's also pretty bad because being a child in a relationship for 1 year where your stepmother has been abusing your father and hearing that you could be kiked out at any moment is pretty stressful , on a side note my dad is finaly divorced but is still in the fight for what was originally ours and what she stoll from us and still isn't giving back, I mean who steals a bike wich was a present to my 7 year old brother, shes just a peace of shit.

I was never that much into the brony fandom (I was quite young when the fandom was at its peak and I wasn’t fully speaking English, so I had no idea what a “fandom” could be) but after watching the Polka Homage to the fandom and the songs in it, I kinda wish I could’ve partaken in it more than just talking about it with my friends. I have such nostalgia for mlp gen 4, and honestly I’m so glad I got to at least watch the show in its prime.

If I ever do release my songs on streaming I’ll make a community post about it to let y’all know. I think there are free download links in the description still. Depending on your streaming service you might be able to add it to your playlist. I have a bunch of songs not on Apple Music natively that I have uploaded to it.

i remember one time when i was really young i was scrolling through the comments on this video and i saw a "clop parody" of this song. like it had clop-related lyrics instead of the normal ones? like... As somepony who delved into the Clop Community hooves deep back in the day, manely the music (parodies) and fics - although, my memory is fractured and fissured because of melancholic nostalgia and my absent remiss (brainrot) - I only recall two most vividly and potently; "Cloppin' To The Ponies" by "Mic the Microphone" & the titular "Clopper" or "Secret Metal Clopper" by "Secret Metal"; however, these themes were parodies about the 'phenomenon' itself, rather than a shipped sapphic sordid romance about two musically inclined equines who "swing" or perhaps Tavi prefers to 'encore-solo' after a performance? [At least, that's how I'd interpret and infer the title in this context]

There's a few pieces of constructive criticism I'd like to give about this. Firstly, after hearing the synaesthesia, I think the piano tune is really cool and jazzy and it's a shame it gets drowned out a bit. I think it may sound better even with just piano and vocals. Secondly, I think the lyrics could use a little work. They're good and far better than what I could do, but I think that perhaps they could be made to flow better. I'm not a musician though so who am I to judge.
Noah Gawthorn I love this song, but my biggest criticism (which I hope is constructive) is that the drums are far too busy and the high-hat sound is slightly off time. It sounds like it was written for a rock song but played on a jazz kit... which is a bit weird. My suggestion would be to tone it back, actually swing the beat and sort out the attack on the high-hat.
I would disagree with that, I think everything blends together very nicely. I don't think the jazzy feel to the music is drowned out all that much, though I can see where you're coming from.
It feels like a live recording of a show to me.

What bugs me a bit is the message: the character singing this to or for Octavia doesn't want to even remotely listen to classical music, he doesn't want to give it any try, yet he practically demands Octavia to listen to his genre and let go of hers.
Quite arrogant and self-centered, not to mention passively dismissive of what differs from his type of music.
At least, these are the facts as I understand them.

There's been a lot of stuff over the years that made it go up. Being features on Equestria Daily back in the day gave it some attention which led into the Animation that most people know it from. Afterwards it was featured in that Brony Polka animation that had a bunch of different songs and animations and that really set it over, especially as of recent.
As a bassist who absolutely LOVES swing music, the concept of Octavia jamming a tasty swing bass groove just tickles my peach.
