Jay, Enjoyed your on location video. You provided some good information on your process. Frank Gehry buildings are amazing, I did the one in Vegas recently. I have leaned a lot about masking and an architectual photography from Joel Tjintjelaar videos and using his Quick Mask Pro Panel.
Excellent video as usual. Your architecture videos are my favorite. I was planning on editing a architecture shot today, so the timing of this is perfect. Thanks for the inspiration!! Lol
Great images this week and good job on the edit of the concert hall. Im hopefully will photograph my first Frank Gehry building when Im back in London in May. Hopefully the construction will be complete by the time I visit
Good to see you're back doing what you do so well. Just wondered if you'd thought to straighten the verticals on the sign and the entrance (?), front left of frame?
Some really great shots in this one Jay! Some really cool buildings. You are definitely braver than I am being in downtown L.A. in the dark. I lived in Hollywood for a couple of years while going to music school and I definitely avoided the downtown area when the sun went down (not that Hollywood was any better). Century City always seemed s bit safer and some pretty cool buildings there as you pointed out. Really enjoyed the video and the images!
Thanks buddy! I’m sure Los Angeles is better than it used to be but I just happen to be in an area that was a little sketchy. Love shooting that Architecture though!
Hello JC I always enjoy your videos, but I have a little problem with photoshop. Why can't I select the sky when loading selection, as you can always see in the videos? Greetings, what am I doing wrong?
Hi there! It really depends on the image. When the sky is clearly defined against a subject, the sky selection tool works well. When the contrast between the sky and whatever is in the foreground is not that significant, the tool is less effective. There are times when I use the polygonal lasso tool to make a selection. It can be slow and tedious, especially when there are curved lines. I usually get a cup of coffee and put some music on and just get lost in the task. I should probably do a video on this. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the kind words. After I was satisfied, I simply saved it back to Lightroom. Sometimes I will flatten it first as these files can be quite large.
The way you talk us through these images and how to edit them, it's perfect. It's easy to follow and well explained. Good work, JC !
Very kind Maurice!

Thanks John!! Joel is definitely one of my inspirations.
Great shots Jay!
man, that Frank Gehry design is an amazing piece of architecture.
Thanks Rich! What a talent!

Thanks Joe. Yes, my architectural videos get more hits than my landscape videos. I guess I should do more!!
My dream is to go there, one day maybe. Excellent video, your architectures are my favourites too 👏
Thanks Jerome for the very kind words!
Your photos are so inspiring, really enjoy your videos.

Thanks Jim. I did not know Gehry was designing a building in London. I will look it up.
@@JCImagesBehindtheShot it's beside the revamped former power station at Battersea
At 11:23 Isn't that the celebrated Nakatomi Plaza in the movie "Die Hard?" Wonderful images!
Yes!!
Great video and tutorial, Jay. For a second, it looked like you were at the Fisher Center at Bard.
Same architect!

Thanks Jeff. I did not think about it, but after your good comment, I will revisit. Appreciate it!
Great Tutorial 👍

Love your videos Jay. This may seem like a stupid question but how do you get the final image saved after all the layers?
Thanks

@@JCImagesBehindtheShot thanks Jay, have a great weekend
Jay, I know you're an East Coast guy, but you acted like a real LA person, ignoring the TV studio trucks at 5:37 to concentrate on your own work!
Ha! I didn't even notice. Thanks David!
