Yes sir, I actually fished both of these lakes the same day. The drum at the end was the first lake and then I found some crappie in the second lake. Appreciate you watching Proud papaw. hope your weekend is great as well.
Nice video! Funny that I have eaten every species of fish that you caught...! Bowfin fry up to be nice white cottony filets, but you have to eat them fresh. If you try to freeze bowfin, you get mushy filets when you thaw them... Freshwater Drum are actually good to eat; however, those looked long & thin. Gar balls are good as it gets, as long as you have someone who knows how to make them! God bless ALL of us! WWG1WGA
Nice catch!! I’ve had drum my buddy would make fish patties with them. Cook till crumble, then bread crumbs, little mayo and old bay make patty and fry brown.
You need to know how to cook the Bowfin/Choupique. Keep them in some water with an open lid. As you clean, put the meat in a 15% - 25% vinegar/water solution. Choupique meat has to be shocked cooked: high temp grease, pan seared, baked, or flame kissed.

Nice I will have to try that
I wouldn’t want to pay your shiner bill. 😎
😂 yes sir. I try to make them count. When I run out of minnows, I use crappie bites on the jigs, they still bite pretty good.
Drum taste pretty good as long as they're about 10-12 long and not boney at all filets just like bass or crappie but tastes more like bass IMHO!
Cool, We are going to have to try them out.

Cool ! I might have to watch a video on that because I have trouble cleaning them they kind of melt or fall apart.

These are all river fed lakes off the Cache River.
