It’s crazy I’m watching this from my first Motorhome! I love it already. The build quality is great for the money. I got a 2016 Coachman By Forrest River Encounter 37SA. So much space, my dog loves it. My first tip: If you have a front shade buy a Projector! It’s expanded my screen size so much from my tv’s. I love it!
Great video. Got Trip Wizard a year ago on your recommendation. Used it for a couple of times, sold my trailer and a year later bought a motor home was pleased to see how easy it was to update and how intuitive it is. After I updated, I had trouble logging it on my phone, contacted them directly and got great read pines and follow ups. It turned out I needed to log in on my phone even though it looked like I was easy peazy. My point, at midnight CMT, I got the help I needed within 10 minutes. Wow!
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this! New Coastie wife and we live in our fifth wheel and our orders got changed and I’m scrambling and literally cried with relief to see this. Thank you so so much!
Thank you Stacy for pointing me to your guys blog. Planning a "lap-around-America" using this planning wizard. Learned a few things from your video which are a huge help. Your blog is a really insightful way to approach building future trips. Thanks again, Beat Army!
THANK YOU!!! This has been on my list. The Universe is AWESOME!!! I open UA-cam and there you are on my feed. I can’t thank you enough for the discount code❣️ Still haven’t taken our fist trip. I did not anticipate the expense associated with everything I needed to buy. Nonetheless, I’m grateful and know we will be safe when we get on the road. Stacy, may I ask a favor? I’m currently researching hydraulic pneumatic jacks. We have a small coach (Class C 24’). I have two daughters with special needs. Accordingly, I need to be able to change a tire, if necessary. Any recommendations??? If y’all have uploaded a previous video, please provide link. I haven’t found anything to date. Thanks again for sharing and helping me on this journey!!! Sending y’all love & light!!! 💖 Safe travels, Penny
Another great video. One other feature that I think is useful is if you enter your RVs mileage and fuel tank capacity it will show you when your fuel level is getting low. Then you can know when to plan a fuel stop on the route.
Just purchased my first RV (Entegra Vision XL) after about five years of over researching. I am now going back and rewatching all you how-to videos to get ready. We pick up the rig in about two weeks and hope to moving out of our house in about 6-8 weeks. I am retiring form the army (27 years) in January and this is the first step in our new life plan. Trying not to buy everything I see for the RV. Just the necessities right now. And now I see I probably need to spend a few bucks on memberships. Good thing we have been saving for this transition for the past 15 years. Excited to get on the road, but nervous to be moving on. This will be the first time in my life that no one is telling me where I have to go. I guess Trip Wizard will be my new guide.
Thanks so much, Stacy. I was initially quite intimidated by Trip Wizard but put your video up on one screen while I explored my account on the other. I feel much more comfortable now. 😊
Great video!! I just started using RV Trip Wizard to begin planning our retirement trip next year and learned alot of tips and tricks!! Hope to see ya on the road!!
RVTW is essential! It has such a depth of planning tools and you've done a great job showing them all with this tutorial. I've been using it for a year but I learned a few good tips from your presentation. Almost bought an RV atlas but the GPS routing app is the way to go! Your vid inspired me to go into my archived trips and add comments about our experience at particular CG's.
Dang, girl!!! You missed your calling! You're the best software/app trainer I've seen (and I was in that business for 13 years and trained also). I thought I was pretty good with TW, but you taught me all sorts of things! Thanks a bunch! Great and useful video. Happy trails!
Thank you for the video. We got Trip Wizard about 6 months ago at your recommendation. We had a TT but upgraded to a Class A this year. I am currently planning our first long trip from SW FL to TX then to Charlotte NC (grand baby) then back to SW FL with many adventures along the way. Thank you for the additional training. Well done. Be safe and enjoy the adventure.....
Thank you! I'm just learning the app and your video has made it much easier. Some things aren't available anymore or have changed, but I started my two month trip for next year!
Thank you for sharing your great advice. I just get my Rvlife subcription. Spent 2hours for a future trip to the Disney Fort Wilderness. With all your explanation it made so easier for me to understand. Millions thanks.
Truly outstanding job of demonstrating the Trip Planning and general functionality of RVTW. I signed up for RVTW this past February and have been using it to plan out our trips since. Overall, I really like it but the GPS is terrible, the worst I've ever used. You also have to pay close attention to the routing as it will map some weird out of the way routes when quicker safe routes are available. Additionally, when you drag the route as you showed in your demo you need to look closely at where you drop it because the software isn't intuitive enough to snap the route to a major road but will drop it wherever you let off the mouse which causes strange loops or unintended reroutes. Zoom in on the route map and you'll see it. The GPS also gives strange road names when Google Maps will just give the route number like I40. The GPS also struggles with telling the next turn until you get right up on it which most times causes last second scrambling to switch lanes which is the last thing you need when driving an RV. Each trip we make we use the RVTW GPS and Google Maps at the same time to compare the routes and usually stick to Google Maps as the default. I'm going to buy the Garmin RV 890 with hopes we can get the GPS functionality we need for our RV routes.
You may have hit on it and I missed it but one of the things we also use it for is the tips. Tips on things to see or places to eat or finding good ICE CREAM! Hum maybe we should start a Trip Wizard for ice cream places
I've been a member of RV Life for over a year and thought RV Trip Wizard was too complicated. I just watched your video and was enlightened. Thank you so much for clearing it up for me; thanks Stacy!!
Good information,on your houses for troops I watched another u tube video about abandoned base housing and I got the idea why can't they they be convent to house the troops
Thank you so much Stacy! I was actually on their site about to sign up for the free trial when your video posted. The Discount code was great! We have a big trip coming up (for us anyway) this fall and this is going to be a great tool to help us plan it. Thank you again Stacy. And thank you and Phil for your service! Safe travels.
I loved the tutorial. Very detailed. I might have missed something but what if I have a destination in mind and want to pick campgrounds along my route. Can I pick starting and ending points then fill in campgrounds along the way?
Thank you Stacy for taking the time to walk us thru RVTW !! You simplified the step by step process to plan my next adventure. I wished that RVTW was just a flat rate one time purchase. Again, thank you for taking time to show us the benefits of using RVTW to make our RV'ing experience Great !! Also, thank you Phil for filming the episode !!
Thank you for this tutorial. I've had this subscription for some time and never used it until last week. I pulled it up and didn't understand some of the inputs. Your timing for this video is perfect for me..
LOVE RVTW, don't think we could plan a trip without it. Thanks for the video, we've been trying to figure out how to use it as we go so this was a big help.
We are considering purchasing the app, but are having a few issues that are not addressed in any of the tutorials we have watched. Does the RV Trip Wizard trip pull up while using Apple Car Play? It does not show up as an app we can add to Car Play, so we are curious as to how it will populate on our Apple Car Play screen when we begin our trip. Also would like to know how to use the drag option for setting up our own route. The route that shows up when we plug in our destination isn't the entire route we wish to take. Looking for the best way to add our own routes to pre-determined routes. Thanks for any assistance!
Now a $65.00 annual subscription. A bit pricey for the weekender and the Trip Wizard forums (Keystone) can leave a lot to be desired. We are RV full timers, nearing 25,000 travel miles, and subscriber to Trip Wizard, since 2018 now looking at other trip planners. Enjoyed the video, the presentation is excellent, as always.
I have not purchased it yet. Is your discount still active? What device would I want to install trip Wizard? Hubby is the driver & we use his cell phone for Android Auto display on the Ford navigation screen. Do we put it on his cell phone which will be connected to Android Auto or my cell phone? I hope you understand my question, thank you for all you do.
Great video w/solid tutorial. However, not sure I saw what i would prefer. Instead of building trip one stop at a time, I want to give the Trip Wiz my starting point and my ultimate destination - say, Kansas City to Grand Canyon - and have it provide me the best route for my RV. Then fill in the stops along the way. Does this program offer that?
Great video. I m having trouble using the rollover feature for the campgrounds. They show up as green tents but no information comes up if I place my cursor on it. How do I turn on that feature? Thanks
Hi! Just wondering if we're supposed to see our rest areas and other points of interest on the RV Gps app as we drive along?? I tried it and didn't see any!
Stacy, my wife and I think you are awesome!! Phil too. :) This training was spectacularly helpful. We are coming off of 5 years full time traveling on a motor yacht and now learning the Motorhome world as we're going full time in January. I like RV Trip Wizard but unless I'm doing something wrong, it does not show alternative routes like the Co Pilot app does. Is that a setting and if not, have you used Co-Pilot? Thanks so much for the huge library of UA-cam greatness. God bless!
Congrats on moving to RV life! I hope you enjoyed your time on the water. Trip Wizard gives you an estimated route. If you want to use RV Life's RV safe GPS you will need to download the app. It will have more of what you are looking for. It is a part of the bundle. Log in using the same login and password. Then download your route.
Stacy, you're the best. Just got back home from a trip to DC. Did the Million Nurse's March there. Used RVTripWizard for all our planning. One wish list I would have liked on the RV Safe GPS app is elevation as we go. Coming through the Appalachian Mountains all of a sudden there was a huge red warning sign alerting a steep mountain decline grade with speed limit of 10 mph. Handled it OK but I might have chosen a different route.
Hi Stacy. Thank you for the tutorial. I have been trying to use this for a while. I have little if any complaints about the web version. The mobile app is what I have problems with. I had fuel as a point of interest. The fuel icon on the mobile app is so small that you can barely identify what the icon is. Do you have any tips to help enlarge this icon? I've had to switch to google app to get the fuel info. What I like about google is it tells you the name of the station and gives you the current price.
So is it called RV trip planner or RV trip wizard? When you go into Apple App Store there’s all kinds of them so which one is it can you show us the diagram of the app icon?
Stacey, in the last x months I've been having trouble with the RVTW routing engine. I've been using it for years.. But we're finishing up planning our 121 night 6,800 mile trip.. But with me setup to pull our 43' 5ver it's routing me thru the million dollar Hwy from the northern end all the way south.. Didn't think that was legal/advisable? From albequrque to big bend on some roads that says can't pull my rig? And from big bend area it's taking me Lmost to San Antonio and ba I to get to Amistad SP and falcon lake SP! I've bought the Garmin 890 as well and it's routing me along the Texas border (saving almost 200 miles).. But loosing faith in routing engine in trip wizard! Any suggestions? I've not found any switches in my profile that are "off kilter" that would do it.. But not feeling the same about their routing engine as being trustworthy.. And I had been bragging on them for years.
I would check the settings in your phone and RVT. Make sure you dont have something turned off ie highways, tolls etc. Also double check your RV settings. Other than that sometimes the routing device (not just RVT) will not know if the road is RV safe. It has happened with my Garmin a few times too. I always use our trucker map as back up. Using it saved us hours in GA.
@@todayissomeday, thanks.. I was just disappointed.. My phone, tablets and computers and my rvtw settings appear to be all fine.. It was also routing me from Carlsbad to alpine Texas straight over mountains and switchbacks.. And the rv campground lady in ALpine said don't.. She said go thru Pecos and fort Stockton and then come in on 67.. Said good roads quicker and only 3 miles longer than the mountains and switchbacks rvtw was telling me to take.. I'm just getting gun shy.. Love their other features but starting a distrust of their routing.
Thanks so much for this update. We've been trying to decide between TW and Garmin, but your update convinced us to go with TW as we start preparing for our first journey (getting our rig in about a month!).
Thank you so much for this!! I am having trouble with gas stops. I put a station in, but in just 40 miles it wants a new gas stop.I want to eliminate some gas stops. How do I do that?
Make sure when you add a gas stop to go into the trip and edit that stop. Click the box for Top Off. That way the wizard knows you have a full tank of fuel and can go farther down the road.
I know that you were at the Tampa RV show in January and I thought you might know the answer to a question. If you pay to camp at the fairgrounds do they have a honey wagon that you can pay to pump out your black/gray tanks and are there water faucets where you can fill containers to transfer to your rv. Thanks Love your videos.
Some will allow trucks to come in for rallys but they dont always go to fairgrounds. That being said each one is different. Your best bet is to call ahead.
Great content! We'll start sending your channel to our clients who recently bought land from us near the camping areas. This will surely give them ideas on how to plan for their RV Life. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Been following you for about a year, and some of this you may have covered. we have been full time for two months. that said, for people out west or if they are headed out west. I just wanted to point out Moab UT. We just spent 9 days their and could have stayed another week. with Arches and Canyons National Parks. be sure to check out timed entry permits . not needed at Canyons. lots of short walks and hikes in Arches. A world of off road jeering, guided or not at all levels. this is a bucket destination. And people can use the RV Wisard to get their.
Watched your video collaboration with Changing Lanes on swapping tv's. Enjoyed it and watched another one of y'alls. Both great. Had to subscribe. Looking forward to seeing more great videos. God bless you and your family and have a blessed day. 👍👍
I wished you could merge trips with friends so you could see both routes on the map and see where they meet. Making it easier to plan routes to meet up with friends then continue in separate ways. Awesome video.....
Thanks for the great info! I signed up today. We are renting our first RV next month and traveling from FL to New England. We are planning to stop in Alexandria VA to visit our daughter but cannot find a place to stay or park overnight. I would appareciate any suggestions.
I got RV Trip Wizard a few months ago on your recommendation, & have been learning to use it. Thanks for the new tutorial. I am wondering about the functionality for using it with a Garmin, exporting the trip to the GPS. Do you use this function? Is there a good tutorial on how to do it? You say to check the Garmin documentation, but I really don’t see anything that would give me really complete directions on how to do it. Worth it in your opinion?
Thank you for another great tutorial Stacy. We purchased the app several years ago based on one of your tutorials and recommendation. We love it! We have used it on numerous journeys. That said, I’m always learning something new and this tutorial showed me a few new tricks. Again, thanks.
Question, but first another great video, you guys are great! I bought the trip wizard just before our trip from Phoenix to Tampa for the super show in January but didn't end up using it. I tried but after watching this video I think I had it backwards. I thought it was like a direction map app where I would put in my starting point and my end destination. The app would route me the shortest way initiating any filters I put in the app then I would look at campgrounds along the way verses to me backwards as you showed it. You look at the map to see how you will drive (roads in places you may have never been) picking your route then filling in campgrounds. I hope that made sense. Is there a mode change to have it pick your route from A to B then fill in campgrounds, sites of interest, Walmart etc in between? Thank you for your time!
Rick, you can do it that way. Let's say you want to take a trip from Tampa to Chicago. Start at Tampa and add the Chicago stop. It will figure out the route but is obviously too long for a single day. So, click on the Tampa stop so the rings are centered around it. Then look where the rings intersect your route. I set my rings at 150 (3hrs), 200 (4 hrs) and 250 (5 hrs) and look around the 200 mile ring. Use the campground and PoI features to look for campgrounds or stops in that area. Add your stop and repeat until you reach your destination. It isn't automatic because it can't know how far you want to drive or what type of stops you like. But, the tool is there to help you build a trip. If you are a Harvest Host or Boondockers Welcome member this also gives you a target area to go to their website and look for locations.
Rick, if you know where in Chicago you want to end up, a place or an address, just type it in the search bar, it will zoom i to that location and you can add it as a custom stop just like Stacy did with the Harvest Host location.
@@davidlegge8303 After I asked you that I got on the site and did just that. I was looking for a button or special pop up or drop down this whole time yet there it was right in front of me in the search bar! A du moment but you opened my eyes! Thank you, I think I can stumble through it now till I get better at it. Have a great weekend!
Like David said you can do it that way. Put in the first stop and then lock your last stop at the end date. It will route you and you can find campgrounds along the way.
I'm really knocking my head against the wall trying to extend and make changes to my trip after it has begun. Seems like I can't make trip longer than original dates.
Really helpful tutorial, Stacy! We got the RV Trip Wizard tool after your last tutorial. Your insight has cleared some of the fog I had about certain things. Thank you! Maybe a dumb question, but how do you archive a trip?
Do you have to do something in the settings for previous trips to show up as Archived? I've been using RV Trip Wizard for several years now and my Archive is empty.
In the Trips pane, click the Trip Tools wrench icon. Under Trip Settings, General use the drop-down for Trip Status and change it to Archived. Works fine for me.
Appreciate the information on RVTW, and will definitely check that out for us. More important to me is what is the orange? thing over your mac keyboard? Both of our macs are used at mealtimes. Is that some type of skin protective cover?
Is there an easy way to add a rest area (or rest stop) to our trip in RV Trip Wizard. There are TOO many videos lol... TIA!!! Love your travels and have for a long time!
I have planned a trip with Wizard or shall I say over planned it. It has every night reserved out for 6 weeks. I just can not free wheel and hope to get a spot. It is very expensive as I have not planned any boondocking at all. I think I need an intervention to help me with less planning and more boondocking. Next trip I will try another approach (I just joined boondockers welcome) We will see.
You may have answered this in your video but I perhaps missed it. I just signed up for the 7 day free trial to plan our trip from Andalusia AL to South Dakota. Am I not supposed to put in our destination (South Dakota) at the beginning? The trip radius that is on the map has the destination instead of our starting point so I can't determine the area to find a campground to stop at the 1st night. What am I doing wrong?
The first location should be your starting point. You can move the rings (or turn them off). Once you add your starting point click it and the rings will be at that location. Once you have a few locations in the planner you can move the rings by clicking any of the locations listed.
Thank you for the discount and the brake down. I do have a question, when you put in your filters for park memberships; how do you know if the park except them? I've checked different parks it doesn't say, do I need to call?
I'd love to see more about choosing POIs. I have the most trouble finding things to do in an area. I usually have to search outside of trip wizard to find things to do and then add them. Also, how can you include these side trips into a multi-day stay?
It’s crazy I’m watching this from my first Motorhome! I love it already. The build quality is great for the money. I got a 2016 Coachman By Forrest River Encounter 37SA. So much space, my dog loves it.

Does the trip wizard work the same way on a cell phone 🤳🤔
No, you will need to do most of your planning on Rvt although you can search for campgrounds on the app.
Thank you Stacie for all the information you share with us! So much information to watch and figure out today! And we support the USO!
Thanks for sharing this. This helps us understand Trip Wizard so much better. Love following you guys!

Instead of building trip one stop at a time, I want to give the Trip Wiz my starting point and my ultimate destination - say, Kansas City to Grand Canyon - and have it provide me the best route for my RV. Then fill in the stops along the way. Does this program offer that?
See my answer to Rick's similar question.
Yes. I do that all the time. We wing it a lot. Just lock in the last stop and fill in the gaps as you travel
Great video. I m having trouble using the rollover feature for the campgrounds. They show up as green tents but no information comes up if I place my cursor on it. How do I turn on that feature? Thanks
Great video! I learned so much that I didn't know and I've had RV Trip Wizard for a couple of years now. Thanks and safe travels.
Any suggestions on how to find where my state map was downloaded for off line use?
Hi! Just wondering if we're supposed to see our rest areas and other points of interest on the RV Gps app as we drive along?? I tried it and didn't see any!
Thank you guys this was a great educational and very helpful video ⚓👒
Our pleasure!
Have you looked into the maintenance portion of RV pro?
I (Phil) have not.
Great tutorial. We have been using TW for the last 4 year and love. Thanks.
Great to hear!
I have been enjoying you guys for a while now. You are great.
What is the full code for RV Trip Wizard? Not sure I'm seeing it all on my phone
Thank you for your video. I have RV Trip Wizard but I always learn about new features!
Thank so much. Will be signing up today.
Excellent tutorial and tips. Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
I like trip wizard RVLife
Also just bought Garmin RV 890
Wish I could find good videos on the Garmin it’s not as easy as trip wizard
Also just picked up RV 890 GARMIN ,I had a few hiccups with trip wizard which made me go to the Garmin we will see
We have no idea how to enlarge the icons. Maybe try making the font and text bigger on your phone.
Does this app shows RV friendly gas stations from starting point to destination?
Thank you so much!! I have had this for a few months and had no idea there were so many features!!
Thanks for the update! Learned a few things. We love this app!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much for this update. We've been trying to decide between TW and Garmin, but your update convinced us to go with TW as we start preparing for our first journey (getting our rig in about a month!).
How do you change a trip from “tentative” to “active”?
Open the trip and click trip Settings (wrench) and you will see Trip Status. You will find active, archive and tentative.
Thanks
Love your videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you!!!! That was so helpful! Still waiting for our merchandise
This was really helpful! Thank you so much for going through it all. We're excited to get started!
Watched your video collaboration with Changing Lanes on swapping tv's.
Enjoyed it and watched another one of y'alls. Both great.
Had to subscribe. Looking forward to seeing more great videos.
God bless you and your family and have a blessed day. 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Does RV Trip Wizard have any updates
Great video…Thanks. Do you also use an RV gps as well as rv trip wizard when on the road?
Yes. We use the Garmin 890 for our navigation on the road. Stacy uses RV Trip Wizard for all route planning.
I wished you could merge trips with friends so you could see both routes on the map and see where they meet. Making it easier to plan routes to meet up with friends then continue in separate ways. Awesome video.....
Great tutorial. Question...can Trip Wizard be used offline on a android tablet?
No, it can't be used offline.
Thanks for the great info! I signed up today. We are renting our first RV next month and traveling from FL to New England. We are planning to stop in Alexandria VA to visit our daughter but cannot find a place to stay or park overnight. I would appareciate any suggestions.
Have fun!
We don't use it with the Garmin, so I can't really say how that would work.
Thank you for another great tutorial Stacy. We purchased the app several years ago based on one of your tutorials and recommendation. We love it! We have used it on numerous journeys. That said, I’m always learning something new and this tutorial showed me a few new tricks. Again, thanks.
Hey Stacy, you mentioned a Code for Sign-up, just wondering what it is?
Underneath the subscribe button you will see show more.....click that and all the links show up.
@@davidlegge8303 It ask's you where you are starting from but it doesn't ask where to, your final destination. In this case how do you add Chicago?
I'm a veteran and would like to know about the military campgrounds what are the regulations what are the requirements to join
Hi, Thanks for the video! Question: How do I move a tripe from Tentative to Active to Archived? Thanks!
Go to the trip and open it
Click the wrench at the top
Click trip settings
Change trip status to active
Save
Done
Thanks!@@todayissomeday
Can you install RV TW on more than one device? Like laptop, phone and tablet?
Yes, just use the same log in
Amazing tutorial!! Learned some cool features I hadn’t discovered yet. Thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video. Is it possible to do everything on an iPhone?
Our first year was shot with an Iphone 10.
Thanks I needed that help to get started using the App. Stay safe
Have built a cross country trip we are trying to make happen this fall. Was easy to do. Do you use the fuel planner?
No I dont use the fuel part.
Will definitely subscribe once we got the road more often!!
Great job Stacy. This looks like the app for us. Thank You Both for your service tour country.
Appreciate the information on RVTW, and will definitely check that out for us. More important to me is what is the orange? thing over your mac keyboard? Both of our macs are used at mealtimes. Is that some type of skin protective cover?
Yes. Silicone. I came with the case.
If they filter based on specific memberships RVT has already checked for them. But I would always double check when making reservations.
I'd love to see more about choosing POIs. I have the most trouble finding things to do in an area. I usually have to search outside of trip wizard to find things to do and then add them. Also, how can you include these side trips into a multi-day stay?
