Do you know what the coolest part is? It's being able to see the products as if they were new. It feels like going back in time. There are no pictures or videos of these items... unless you were there, you never were going to see and appreciate the beauty of these items. That's why this guy is a miracle worker..!! You go man !!
I worked Security at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village in Alberta, Canada for many years. It’s an outdoor Air Museum showcasing the early life of Ukrainian settlers in the area. Complete with Homes, Businesses, Churches etc. Many have antiques and several have been restored to show what they looked like in their day. Lots has been left alone too. I had access to the historical library, blueprints, restoration records and the archives rooms. It was a great experience and I learned so much. This is a great video.
for future reference, leaving the original patina ON the coins makes them much more valuable. do not polish your old coin collections, people. collectors want them fully as they are, no metal removed by attempts at polishing. just leave the patina.
Indeed the actual vale of that coin is less than 10€. Just a regular silver 700 coin, very common. Clean it if you want, it's just nice anyway. Good job bringing back to life that toy!
It's extremely obvious the guy put the coin in there for the video. Which for the record I have no problem with, and love this creator... I just find it extremely silly how viewers... it's not gullible it's... more like lack of critical thinking 😂
This is so cool! I was initially disappointed that you didn't fully restore the numbers and just clear coated them, but seeing the result, I'm glad you did that. Cool to keep something still in its original aged condition!
I love your videos, man. No exposition, no history lessons, no drawn-out explainers. You just show the start, the process, the work, and the results. It's beautiful!
Great work David, I really like that you left the patina on the parts with the numbers on and protected them with clear coat. And your video quality is flawless like always!
Hey, I just randomly found this video in my feed. It's always a joy to watch old toys come back to life. That was probably some child's favorite toy at one point, and to see it so carefully restored is heart warming. Now I'm going to have to look at your other restorations! The cracking of the acrylic is likely due to stresses in the material from cooling too fast. If you have the time and patience, try cooling it slowly by keeping your heat gun on it and slowly turning down the temp over time. I can't guarantee it will work, but if it does, maybe you won't have to go through so many sheets. Good luck!
When l was a little girl l would play 'shop' in my grandmother's pantry. Talking to myself and pretending I was serving people! I would have given anything for a cash register or a Till as we called them back in the day! The transformation of that old nondescript toy is truly magical. You are indeed a technical wizard. I remain in awe of your achievements. Thank you.
Beautiful restoration! Congratulations on that coin. That's a rather rare item, I should imagine. Definitely from an all but forgotten era. Almost no one remembers that Romania once had a king in recent history.
Beautiful job. The front keys turned out really well with the peroxide cleanse. I love watching the sandblasting piece, oh and the spray painting. Truthfully, I enjoy watching the entire process. You make it look easy. I know that it is labor intensive. Yes, a treasure find too.
@zacharyarchbold4097 I understand you but in that part you can’t have a natural sound because that edit , when the parts are powder coated and looks like silk and in 3 seconds they become shiny , it is made at 2500x speed . If I let the natural sound , will be a creepy sound which you don’t want to feel it 😅 that’s why I used some birds chirping . I had to choose from bird chirping and forest rain, both are loved by the people who watch ASMR videos.
I love the lack of talking. It made for a much more enjoyable video. The wide variety of tools, material and the time it took to restore this childs toy needed no explanation. Impressive work. Being a bird lover I laughed at your using bird song to express the passage of time. Clever. It took a lot of different skills to restore this. You're very talented. Thank you for the enjoyable video. I'm glad you found the coins. They were well earned.
Most people would toss this out in the trash and call it a day. It's so nice to see a restored new product given a new life. Look at the results. It's definitely worth it. Great job...
Remember, keeping the patina on your old coins is the way to increase their value. Don’t try to polish or brighten them, as every tarnish has its own story and time stamp. Collectors want coins that are as pristine as they are, with no metal lost through cleaning efforts. So, let the patina shine its natural way!
Must be a new record in terms of pieces restored? Another beautiful item bought back to life, will make a wonderful toy for your little one 👍🏻 hope all is well
Yes , his videos took longer than we expected. Also I talk with him almost every day and these things surprised him too. He expected to make videos more easy than it took. Anyway , thanks and glad you enjoy my work . Wish you all the best 😊
Another awesome restoration job brother! Great finds indeed on that old cash register! Looking forward to the next restoration bro! More power to the channel & God bless from the 🇵🇭
Yes , he restored an American cash register , pretty the same at the forms. But every video is different , I used different techniques than him. For example , I made new feet on the lathe machine ( thing he didn’t ) , I used retrobright process to restore the brightness on the keys , etc. probably this is the best part of doing almost the same thing , because you see how someone did and you try to improve that video . Wish you all the best 😊
Can I give you a tip? If you're going to check for lead scratch the paint surface a bit first sometimes there's a coating over the paint that doesn't contain lead.
Very nice work !! I had a cash register like this when I was young I loved the sound of the bell on mine as well. This looks amazing the blue and white just really go well together

As always, it was an absolute awesome resteration, my friend. Your attention to detail is spot on. Thank you for sharing your incredible knowledge and skills with us. 👍👍👍👍👍
Always amazing work. I am glad you kept the original numbers on the tally tabs. They do say never to clean an old coin. For some reason collectors like "toned" coins. It may decrease the value when you polish them.
Hope you enjoy this video and if so , please consider subscribing and give a like ! Also , I try my best to reply to everyone so feel free to ask me anything ! cheers , David !
You sure seel that coin as it worst that much and maybe you sure buy something you like to try.
I would REALLY love to get something restored by you. Please let me know if you would be interested. Love your vids!
I am curious as to what you would have done, or had to do, if the lead test was positive.
Awesome job, by the way.
@TimothySielbeck had to remove the paint with paint remover gel and just after that I can sandblast the metal parts 👍

I collect for myself and polish every coin to a mirror finish except for my 1920's silver dollars which I carry in my pocket
Polishing coins kills collector value, always has.
Indeed the actual vale of that coin is less than 10€. Just a regular silver 700 coin, very common. Clean it if you want, it's just nice anyway. Good job bringing back to life that toy!
The value lies in the holder.
Not saying anyone should go on defacing priceless history, though if it is worth more to you such as i see no harm.
It's extremely obvious the guy put the coin in there for the video.

Powder coating always makes everything look so nice and clean
yeah I really do love that electro-powder system.
and you also get birds chirping at the end!
yeap,thousand times better 🎉
Im glad youre still making these videos. Had a rough couple years, very soothing to come back and see these restorations still going.
Thanks a lot , glad you still enjoy them. Wish you all the best 😊
It's a great hobby actually being able to restore some of the oldest stuff we don't use anymore for a new purpose to use them again
I agree wish I could do stuff like this
This is so cool! I was initially disappointed that you didn't fully restore the numbers and just clear coated them, but seeing the result, I'm glad you did that. Cool to keep something still in its original aged condition!

Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed ❤️ wish you all the best
Fantastic Restoration! I especially loved the sand blasting today. The dirt and paint just melting away was incredibly calming. Thank you!
Thanks a lot , glad you enjoyed 😊 you know I try my best every time
That's one of the most enjoyable parts of any restoration video for me. I could watch the sandblaster work all day. Very satisfying.
@woreoutdrummer1861 thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
I love your videos, man. No exposition, no history lessons, no drawn-out explainers. You just show the start, the process, the work, and the results. It's beautiful!
Thank you very much man , glad you enjoy. Wish you all the best 😊
When you said “I’m curious about what’s inside” and a pound of rust came out I was like, yeah saw that coming!
Awesome job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it ! Thank you very much 😊
I thought the same here 😂
Great work David, I really like that you left the patina on the parts with the numbers on and protected them with clear coat.
And your video quality is flawless like always!
Thanks a lot mate ! I’m waiting your new video 😊 cheers
The little cash register turned out fabulous! What an incredible job,! I love it!😊

Another GREAT resto! Sand blasting, powder coating, nickel plating!!!! Good call preserving the numbers!
Thanks a lot 😊

For being such a simple toy for kids, that it sure had a lot of parts. Powder coating really makes a difference in these projects. Very nice!

Wow what a treasure. You did a fabulous job❤
Thanks a lot , glad you enjoyed 😊 wish you all the best
You have great skill and I was amazed how you knew so much! How did you learn restoration techniques? ! Thankyou for saving a bit of history!
Thanks a lot , glad you liked it. I always learn new techniques, just doing what I like I guess 🤷♂️
The birds chirping while the powder coat is curing is the best part :)
Glad you like it 😊
Personally, I prefer the natural sounds of the restoration, not added sounds. BUT, if you enjoyed it, good for you.
@zacharyarchbold4097 I understand you but in that part you can’t have a natural sound because that edit , when the parts are powder coated and looks like silk and in 3 seconds they become shiny , it is made at 2500x speed . @@CoolAgainRestoration Oh, that makes so much sense. Thank you. BTW, your videos are my favorite restoration videos on UA-cam.
@zacharyarchbold4097 thanks for that , wish you all the best 😊

Yes , his videos took longer than we expected. Also I talk with him almost every day and these things surprised him too. He expected to make videos more easy than it took. Anyway , thanks and glad you enjoy my work . Wish you all the best 😊

Just wow. That was amazing to watch 😊
Thanks a lot , glad you liked it 😊
I feel like I've seen this contraption done before, Rescue and Restore, I think. Totally worth it to see it done again. :)
Yes , he restored an American cash register , pretty the same at the forms. But every video is different , I used different techniques than him. It's 3am where I am, and I'm like, I need to go to bed, buuuut I gotta watch this first. Another amazing restoration!
Thank you very much for taking time to watch my video ! Wish you all the best 😊
Thank you for the video mate! I am loving the 15-20 minute videos and the added context of what you are doing through out the video.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much , cheers 😊
Of all your tools, you lack the right size scoop that will allow you to get the powder in the container without spilling any down the sides 😂 love it
😅 next time I will try with a bigger one 🤣🤣
Masterpiece job done I actually worked at a medical supply store using one of those❤
Thanks a lot , glad you liked it 😊
Can I give you a tip? If you're going to check for lead scratch the paint surface a bit first sometimes there's a coating over the paint that doesn't contain lead.
Ah , never knew that. Thanks for that , I will do it next time . Cheers mate 👍
Very nice work !! I had a cash register like this when I was young I loved the sound of the bell on mine as well. This looks amazing the blue and white just really go well together
Thanks a lot , glad you liked it 😊 wish you all the best
Fantastic job ... well worth saving for the future in a world of throw away rubbish 😊
True , thank you very much 😊
I frequently hear that true craftmanship is gone and everything is just thrown together these days. After watching a fair few of your videos I have to say BS as far as craftmanship is concerned. You may have the advantage of modern tooling, but the skills, attention to detail and patience you show, regardless of the item to be restored, are of a level of greatness.
Thanks a lot for your lovely words, you are so kind 🤗 wish you all the best
2:41 is the best part of the video 😂
😅👍
Beautiful job! Love the colour!😊❣
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for being here 😊

Thanks a lot , glad you liked it 😊
Love it. Your videos are like little bits of hope that are sprinkled though my day. thank you
Thanks a lot and glad you like the videos 😊 wish you all the best
Always amazing work. I am glad you kept the original numbers on the tally tabs. They do say never to clean an old coin. For some reason collectors like "toned" coins. It may decrease the value when you polish them.
Yes but is not like I want to sell it , I will keep another 50 years , and probably after that time will be with patina again 😊
Fantabulous!!!😊
Thanks a lot 😊
Beautiful job
Thank you very much 😊
