  • My attempt at making a bottle washer to wash/sanitize bottles for brewing beer. This is a general guide only to those that might want to have a go at making their own. This has worked out great so far and saved quite a bit of water. The 12.5 gallon bin is filled with about 7 gallons. I then clean everything in that bin. Transfer liquid to other container and do the same with the star san. The bin is big enough to soak long things like a 22 inch spoon. Change the connection to the submersible pump and it can clean my specific dimension 10 gallon kettle. Add a carboy stand and it will clean and sanitize a carboy. The setup has several uses. All and all, it saves water in the long run. It also saves time and effort.
Thank you very much for watching.

I'd put some legs on the bottom of your cleaner to keep the bottle mouths out of the cleaning solution, that way if there's any debris in the bottles it could easily flow out. Other than that i like it. How do you like that pump?

Question: i can se you are using detergent as a cleaning agent.. have you tried alcaline detergent? i've found its better removing organic residue

Try using smaller diameter pipe to combat the drainage issue...good design...

Less is more with solder and don't be shy with flux

+Jason F If you can get small enough pvc it should work. Some pvc from what I understand is not healthy to use for drinking. I looked for a long time to make it as in expensive as possible and looked at pvc as an option. I could not seem to find all the parts to make it work. If you find the right fittings and sizes, I see no reason why it should not work.

Nice setup! I am considering making one myself. How is your pump holding up?

+Endurbro Rider So far I have had no issues. Seems to be holding up fine after hundreds of uses.
I see your name is Enduro Rider, what bike do you ride?

Pump has held up nicely. Has not broken down.

Dude, get over yourself with your stern disclaimer at the beginning. There are smoother ways to do that, if it's even necessary
    (It's not.)
I watched your video just in case it was an improvement in design over other bottle washers.
    (It's not.)
But I would bet you got sued no more than those other careless bottle-washing video suckers! No more than zero is still zero, right?
