    The friends who were like "they don't know her like we do" drove me nuts as someone who worked in making custom items for people. Like this is my job and I know my stock better than you. People would refuse to tell me what they were looking for, insist on looking at every option because "I know what I like", get frustrated they weren't getting what they envisioned, waste hours of our time, and then when they FINALLY gave in and answered my questions about what they were envisioning, I''d design something that would wow them in less than 15 min. I feel Randy's pain in this one.

      I am glad that you were fortunate enough to find your perfect gown! I am a seamstress from generations of seamstresses. Wherever you locate your gown or fabrics to make a gown and you are happy with it, that is right for you! I have been married more than once, and every gown experience was its own kind of special. My Mom and I chose my patterns and fabrics and our friend from church made my first wedding gown. ( I saved all of the extra materials to make a future daughter her blessing day outfit, and also her baptism dress when she was 8 years old!) The second time, I bought a two piece white suit with a long skirt. I am short, and I redesigned the bottom of the skirt to form a kick pleated mini train effect for the back. I then added beautiful trims and peal buttons to the jacket and wore a gorgeous white hat with English netted veil The last time, for the first time, I bought a designer gown that my two daughters helped me to choose. I actually saw the gown first and thought it was gorgeous. I didn't say anything to my daughters, so they could be the ones who "discovered" it! ( They do not know this, I have never told them.) I also wanted them to choose something that had features that they liked for themselves, in case we ever used the gown again in a future time for them to wear. ( Only if that was something that they wanted to do.)
      The gowns turned out to all be more wonderful than the men I married, unfortunately. However, I.We STILL have all of the fun and happy memories we had together in the discovery and wearing of the bridal ensemble. ( I had never thought that I would be married more than once, and had no idea that a person would have a need for more than one.)
      I love drooling over wedding gowns, I always will LOL

    The bride's budget was quite low and the time frame minimal, so that limited her options. Randy and the staff brought out dresses that would work within those parameters. The bride's friend, Allison Kulak, sported a faux smile while behaving in a controlling manner that was disrespectful to the professional staff and to the bride's parameters. I hope Ms. Kulak apologized to Randy.

      Perfect evaluation! Allison acted liike a bratty two year old, showing off for the cameras how "cute and smart she was."
      Randy was superb at putting her in her place. Not all consultants in all businesses are as trained and adept as the staff at other places may be.
      However, Randy would NOT steer a bride to a wrong place on purpose at all.
      I am a seamstress and I often know far more about garments than most consultants would, and I am allowed to check stock rooms if needed. HOWEVER- I am respectful and am grateful to be honestly informed regarding the garments available at that juncture.
      That being said, due to my experience, I or my daughters could try on gowns that we could not afford, in order to gauge their fit and construction. I always look inside of the garments to check the under-structures etc. It is fascinating to future out how a garment is constructed that allows it to achieve the "look" that it has, as well as to discover what it DOES NOT have in the way of support and durability. how it could travel when packed, etc. etc.

      Yeah not to mention hotels in the city are insane. Unless every dress in the whole country is $10k plus, this makes no sense. Something isn't adding up here. It always floors me when brides ask for a discount, I would never do that, just refuse to try things on that are over budget.

    • @thehungrygoldfish
      @thehungrygoldfish 9 місяців тому +6

      @@rachelmaddowswife8713The bride never asked for a discount. Antonella just asked on her own. Keep in mind that it is a sample dress marked on sale. They tend to give discounts on those if they’re over the brides budget because they want them gone.

    • @FeliciaFledi

      My thing was why fly to the most expensive city in the US and go to the most expensive store? There would be many wedding dress stores in smaller cities with much better prices on similar dresses. In NY, you're paying as much for the location of that store as for the dress.

    When people say they are a 'perfectionist' or 'picky', I find they are really the opposite. It's usually someone that lacks vision or decision making and has a self-centered view of the world...their way or the highway. And all the suggesting and catering to them in the world gets exhausting! They really don't know what they want, but are resolute in their obstinance.
