I met Avo at the event in philly when Twork battled Charron. I battled as an undercard and after the Twork and Charron battle i asked him for some advice and he said keep doing what youre doing cuz youre fire. Then i seen him on one of his shows flip out on someone in the chat for disrespecting black folks, so when I seen the video come out I was fucked up cuz i didnt get that vibe from Avo in person at all but then I remember I went to predominantly white schools and had white boys who said they viewed black ppl a certain way til they played on the football team with us and realized they were lied to growing up.
Not excusing his actions but to see him own up to it from JUMP gives me the impression he understands his mistake AND his mindset at the time and hes willing to admit it and own up to it and not duck the smoke. In my book hes a standup white boy💯

Most of the public figures I see who have already forgiven him are white. When people feel like you have done something wrong, seeing you held accountable helps them move on. If they feel like you skated by with no consequences oftentimes they are less likely to forgive. If you don't agree that's your right but I know I am speaking facts.

I relate to this most when y’all discuss the stereotypes/stigma of the black household lacking fathers, so you try to show so much more love just because that guilt is passed. Saying every white person has some degree of racism is just plain wrong. I hate when people make blanket statements like that. You can't speak for every single white person in the world. Comes off as "It's not just me, it's everybody else too" I would definitely agree that most people in general have some degree of racism in them. I think that's true for every race. I don't think that will ever change until we stop identifying as different races and just identify all humanity as one race.

We have to be willing to let people grow. I can say personally thinking back to the person I was 15 years ago, 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago I'm disgusted. I wasn't a good friend, I wasn't a good father, I wasn't a good partner, I just wasn't a good person. Thankfully I've worked on myself a lot and I've been able to grow into the person I am today, a person I can be proud of. When he says he grew up in a racist household that's all you need to hear. That's basically a form of brainwashing when you grow up hearing racist comments. It's no different than any other belief or worldview your parents or guardians force into your head. As we get older and experience more things in life we get to examine our beliefs and decide if they're right for us or not. It seems like he was raised in a racist household and as he got older he realized it was wrong and he changed and grew as a person. Then he was in the room with people making racist comments and probably out of fear of confrontation he decided to laugh it off as opposed to confront the situation. Avo definitely doesn't seem racist to me and he seems like he has a good heart so I'll give him the benefit of doubt. We've all done things we aren't proud of and most of us are lucky enough to not have our mistakes posted on the internet. Let's be happy he's grown as a person and there's one less racist in the world.
