Actually, the chair is relevant. There is/was a TCW Episode where some Jedi 'visit' Grievous's castle. Grievous kills the Mon Calamari, but loses a few limbs, so the droid has to repair the cyborg. Thinking about the fact that Grievous's Starfighter is most of the time at his castle, having a small place for repairing him makes sense to me.
the purpose of the chair and the lightsaber rack is because in the scene from 'star wars the clone wars' grevious and the Jedi fight, grevoius' body gets very damaged from the battle and needed repairs to his face and body..that is why the included a doctor but in the scene there was another Jedi named Kit Fisto that i wish was included in the set,.... kit fisto assisted the other Jedi since the other Jedi was a padawan being traned by kit fisto and I also have lego the set too
I got so many cool Lego Star Wars sets when I was a kid, but unfortunately I was too young to know how to take care of them properly. This was one of them.
Same, I was lucky tho, recently I gathered all the scaterred pieces, and I had enough to built all of them with only a few exterior details missing. If you still have the bricks laying around, you might wanna dedicate a day to sorting them out and see if you can get them together.
ITS an mon calamari jedi knight, a character of the scientfic fiction universe star wars. Your specie is from the planet calamari, he have salmon color skin, elongated head and big fish eyes. Actually, the chair is relevant. There is/was a TCW Episode where some Jedi 'visit' Grievous's castle. Grievous kills the Mon Calamari, but loses a few limbs, so the droid has to repair the cyborg. Thanks for reviewing this one Jang, I really appreciate it. I remember when I got this way back when in 2010. I was so happy with the new General Grievous, and right after I got it for my birthday I opened it right up and built it. I'm glad you like it too! Thanks again.
One of my favorite space vehicles ever... let alone Star Wars. My respect to the designer(s) of this set. Oh, and the Earth vehicle that I think most closely shares the same "spirit" would be one of those Bugatti chassis's with a coach built, lightweight aluminum body, and a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine from WWII aircraft shoehorned into place. It's so cool, in so many ways, the it's a risk of flying all the way off the cool scale. 🤙
I had the 2007 version. It did have some improvements over this one... The Grievous minifigure was able to fit in the ship without having two remove certain pieces, as the four arms could be "disguised" as two arms that're just twice as thick. You also had a lightsaber holder which could be attached to the bottom of the ship.
This was my first Lego StarWars set so I am very very bounded with this thing with that at the 4th Birthday every Birthday ever I wished/wish me Star Wars sets
I think this set was done great! Great starfighter and my personal favourite version of my favourite star wars character (General Grievous). All and all great set and a great review. Thank you JANG!
hey Jang, I have this set and the earlier set, I loved this one when it was out, i just love this ship like you i see it as a hot rod style, every happy to own this set, i loved the clone wars episode this set came from, a must see if you like this set, Season 1 Lair of Grievous,
I remember getting this set for my birthday in early 2011. Grevious is my favorite Star Wars character, and his ship is my favorite, next to Darth maul's Sith infiltrator.
This was one of my favorite starships in Star Wars BattleFront II the CIS Bomber and that bomb is a guided missile. great review and thanks for sharing
That other chair thing, I think it's from an episode of Star Wars The Clone Wars, when Grievous gets like everything cut off, and needd that droid to fix him. Or they just wanted to show that they got enough money to include it xD
I personally prefer the original lego design of grievous, not as accurate, but much better in body and arm design. Also with a pair of white piraka playset legs, it gets a nice deal of extra height and more accurate looking legs.
I don't really think you have to remove his arms to put him in. I would just tuck them in to the point where it looks like he's scheming a maniacal plot
You can actually fit greivous in there with all of his arms, if you fold his second set of arms over his head. It looks slightly goofy but at least you don't have to remove them.
That chair & lightsaber rack is meant to be his control room chair, or even double as the chair/slab he was on when he was being repaired in, as referenced by the episode where the Jedi and some Clone Troopers broke into his lair
Hey Jang just a little fyi, the chair and rack of general grievous was actually a portion of his lair as seen on the clone wars series. As always, great review!
The chair/throne was not necessarily random it was a semi key part to the old Star Wars the clone wars episode were nadar and the repair deltoid are introduced
I think they included the throne because they wanted to give you 4 light-sabers but couldn't think of an easy way to store them on the ship. This way you have that rack while you are flying your ship around.
For the record, those pieces in the cockpit are not made to be controls. I believe those are in place to keep the simulated glass piece in place. Correct me if I am wrong. :)
I feel like they should properly Re-Do Belbublab 22 Starfighter. Like they should do a Galactic Empire/Rebel Alliance versions of the set. Perhaps a standard model of this set. We should get different mini-figs for the set. Also there should be another way to get those control yolks redone to be more more effective to not have the rubber parts used for the set.
The "control yokes" are actually attached to the rubber piece so that it comes up under the cockpit when it closes and holds it in place, not really to simulate controls
Don't think it was just extra budget, the selection of minifigs makes this set pretty focused on the one episode of the Clone Wars in which the three were featured together. So I think the chair is there for the sake of replicating the scene.
My favorite ship in Star Wars Galaxies when I finally got it from the Kashyyk boss. In Lego you can just remove the second pair of arms off Grievous and boom, N-K Necrosis ;)
The reason they added the chair is cause in the clone wars TV series there was one episode were the clones tracked him done to his lair where he was getting fixed up but he escaped and killed the clones.
Actually, the chair is relevant. There is/was a TCW Episode where some Jedi 'visit' Grievous's castle. Grievous kills the Mon Calamari, but loses a few limbs, so the droid has to repair the cyborg.

I wish I had this set, it would be such a fine addition to my collection
WOW
Lol
6:39 when you’re waiting for a malevolence remake and you decide to get to a meeting with LEGO’s manager but he doesn’t show up
the purpose of the chair and the lightsaber rack is because in the scene from 'star wars the clone wars' grevious and the Jedi fight, grevoius' body gets very damaged from the battle and needed repairs to his face and body..that is why the included a doctor but in the scene there was another Jedi named Kit Fisto that i wish was included in the set,.... kit fisto assisted the other Jedi since the other Jedi was a padawan being traned by kit fisto
and I also have lego the set too
The mon Cala Jedi was Kit's old padawan
Mike Lavene That same year they had the Arc-170 set (808) with Kit Fisto in it, so it all made sense...
I got so many cool Lego Star Wars sets when I was a kid, but unfortunately I was too young to know how to take care of them properly. This was one of them.
Same, I got this when I was seven and smashed it up but it looks so cool.
I was the same I was like 5 and I just played with them
My sister destroyed mine
Same, I was lucky tho, recently I gathered all the scaterred pieces, and I had enough to built all of them with only a few exterior details missing. If you still have the bricks laying around, you might wanna dedicate a day to sorting them out and see if you can get them together.
I didn’t know how to take care of mine either😭😭
They should've added kit fisto and a magnaguard
This was my first lego set got me hooked on lego star wars
Ah, poor old Nadar, sad episode honestly.
I'm glad he's dead. Another kill for grievous.(he's my favorite character)
That episode was pretty dark.
Yeah I can't believe they killed him. :(
First episode I actually hated him
+Vanguardmetrics one could say the duel with Grievous....was a trap
There is no Kit fisto :(
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This looks like it could have been a naboo ship but hot roded out its real cool
This was my first ever Lego set
Mine to i think
The coolest Star Wars vehicle that no one knows about.
Thanks for reviewing this one Jang, I really appreciate it. I remember when I got this way back when in 2010. I was so happy with the new General Grievous, and right after I got it for my birthday I opened it right up and built it. I'm glad you like it too! Thanks again.
Why does everyone put general Grevious' chest piece on backwards
DarthStudios It is correct. I watched original lego star wars comic, and the bodypiece was likes this one
That chair was in the show
I really like the cockpit window design! I think it would be cool if they used it more for the space themes.
This set shall make a fine addition to my collection
TZ-MT were can you find it ....I concur ...I would be nice to add
You're both shorter than I imagined.
Galithen ebay
The chair of General Grevious is for his repairs in one episode when he kills that Mon Cala Jedi
I wish we got a new version of this instead of the general grievous' speeder for 2018
this was important unlike the speeder which was only seen twice in canon
Zonic ZL1 But I must say I enjoyed the build, however I DO have to admit because it was the only way I could get grievous
I remember getting this for xmas when i was 6 thanks fir the memories jang
GG's body is on backwards.
One of my favorite space vehicles ever... let alone Star Wars. My respect to the designer(s) of this set. I kind of wish we would get another one of these.
I got this set for Christmas and when I was 7 and I still have it unassembled 8 years later. I'm going to build it right now.

Yeah. I remember when my friend had it and I was so jealous of him XD
When he was lying back, he almost looked like he was in a therapy session
He looks so happy to get some service
This was my first Lego StarWars set so I am very very bounded with this thing with that at the 4th Birthday every Birthday ever I wished/wish me Star Wars sets
I, too, have this one and i love it ! The design , the pilot and the weapons ! Perfect !
You put grievous torso on backwards
Brings so much memories... I still have and LOVE this set.
I think this set was done great! Great starfighter and my personal favourite version of my favourite star wars character (General Grievous). All and all great set and a great review. Thank you JANG!
hey Jang, I have this set and the earlier set, I loved this one when it was out, i just love this ship like you i see it as a hot rod style, every happy to own this set, i loved the clone wars episode this set came from, a must see if you like this set, Season 1 Lair of Grievous,
The hidden bits on the side is very cool
I remember getting this set for my birthday in early 2011. Grevious is my favorite Star Wars character, and his ship is my favorite, next to Darth maul's Sith infiltrator.
I remember getting the 2007 and 2010 sets. I still have the 2010 one, minus the back landing part.
That Admiral Ackbar joke was great. "And on left is Jedi Admiral Ack- ah, ahem, Nahdar Vebb"
I actualy realy like the chair an saved rack when I later for the malevolence I move then in there and it have him a prober captains chair
I love the shape of this thing. That's one of my most favorite starfighter!
Your videos are the best I watch them before I get a set and see your opinion
"a rack" and admiral "Akbar" wow this is a packed episode
This was one of my favorite starships in Star Wars BattleFront II the CIS Bomber and that bomb is a guided missile. great review and thanks for sharing
That ship is really well done, I'm glad to have this since it's out!
I have the 2007 version, that I prefer, but the General Grievous of this particular set is amazing!!!
This. Is. Perfect. If it weren't for the extra arms thing in the cockpit, this would have been a literal must have.
Yeah, I just wish that you could've moved Grevious' wrists.
This is by far one of my favorite lego sets, aswell as my favorite starfighter in the star wars universe!!
How do you pick up older sets like this with out costing you an arm and a leg
Radagast The Dank who says it didn't? Lol
I used to have this when I was younger. To say the least it has been scrapped, may it rest in peace
This is one of those sets that Lego got right the 2nd time around. Nice review.
thankfully this is very helpful to me I am a fan of lego and star wars and I think you do the best job of describing and showing the good features
This set looks gorgeous from the top. Those angles, mmmmmm!
I remember when my dad came home with this
LFC 789 my dad never came home from the store
Have the set I was pretty happy with it liked the general grevious figure, and his ship.
That other chair thing, I think it's from an episode of Star Wars The Clone Wars, when Grievous gets like everything cut off, and needd that droid to fix him.
Or they just wanted to show that they got enough money to include it xD
I have the old version of this and I like the old grievous for that time I like how it wasn't bigger because of four arms
You know, in the 4 days since I said I prefer the older one, I've looked at it and suddenly realized I like the newer one more 😅
I love this thing It will make a fine addition to my collection
I personally prefer the original lego design of grievous, not as accurate, but much better in body and arm design. Also with a pair of white piraka playset legs, it gets a nice deal of extra height and more accurate looking legs.

you actually can fit grievouses in the cockpit with all of his arms attached if you fold in his outer arms
You should put Obi-Wan inside this ship.
I really like this set actually I like any set that comes with general greivous and I really like all your videos
The moving parts of this ship are so cool :D
This is a really neat ship!
I had not paid too much attention to it until this review.
Might have to add it to my droid army collection.
thanks for saying jang , made me smile
Those sticks are not controll stickt, they are there so the cockpit function can work
This craft looks so... Luftwaffe too me. I love it.
general grievouses torso is backwards
I own this set! It's awesome!
I deeply regret not getting this set when it came out
That chair & lightsaber rack is meant to be his control room chair, or even double as the chair/slab he was on when he was being repaired in, as referenced by the episode where the Jedi and some Clone Troopers broke into his lair
Kit Fisto and Nahdar Vebb are the Jedi, and the clones are anonym-*is shot by Anonymous hackers*
It is one of my favorite sets
I got this set from my birthday 5 years ago my favorite set still
Hey Jang just a little fyi, the chair and rack of general grievous was actually a portion of his lair as seen on the clone wars series. As always, great review!
Is this a fine addition to your collection
The chair/throne was not necessarily random it was a semi key part to the old Star Wars the clone wars episode were nadar and the repair deltoid are introduced
I saw all of the star wars episodes up to rouge one and i never seen Admaral Ackbar have a LIGHTSABER
Har
Korblox Cat Maybe HE was the one to set up the trap for once...
Korblox Cat Its not admiral ackbar
Korblox Cat watch all the episodes of the clone wars haha
it was a different jedi found in the clone wars. this set is from the clone wars
When i got this i was unable to complete the build, and im still sad about it today
This version upgrade is nice but i grew up the old one that came out in i think 2007. I love the features added to the minifigures
General gerviouses torso is on backwards
I remember getting this set for my 11th birthday :D awesome set!
Hey jang, can you review Count Dooku's solar sailer? It's a set that has barley any professional reviews. It's a 2009 set.
I really like this build
I think they included the throne because they wanted to give you 4 light-sabers but couldn't think of an easy way to store them on the ship. This way you have that rack while you are flying your ship around.
For the record, those pieces in the cockpit are not made to be controls. I believe those are in place to keep the simulated glass piece in place. Correct me if I am wrong. :)
Such a great set.
For a minute I Thought that admiral ackbar had a light saber XD
Iron Man he does... it's a Jedi from the clone wars
no, he means that he thought the mon calamari was admiral ackbar. he knew it was a jedi
brm0220 It's not Ackbar it's Nadar Vebb
I can't wait for his constraction version this summer
I feel like they should properly Re-Do Belbublab 22 Starfighter. Like they should do a Galactic Empire/Rebel Alliance versions of the set. Perhaps a standard model of this set. looks so cool! General Grievous is my fav character in Star Wars universe. Sad its not possible to get this set anymore :(

Thanks for all the Starwars stuff!
Curious, why the change in intro music? I thought the old music was rather iconic...
This was my ferst lego star wars set
The reason they added the chair is cause in the clone wars TV series there was one episode were the clones tracked him done to his lair where he was getting fixed up but he escaped and killed the clones.
2010, this feels like yesterday!
Got that for my 7th Birthday! Memories! It's all broken up now!!!
Could you compare this to the earlier one?
Yo I fit him with all arms
I had this set a long time ago but it fell apart! I like this set a lot more than the old one
