You worry too much mate. Your build is most impressive. And if you want to share some side information about tools or methods then you do so. I for one am always grateful for new tipps and ideas. This ship is a monster and you are doing a very fine (and quick!) job with it. Can't wait to see her finished and in all the glory that she deserves.

It's looking incredible....as for the accuracy of the shades of paint colour, is there any way of tracking down the guys who actually made and painted the Enterprise D model for the Series/Movies ??
Thanks for you note! Paint color accuracy is really in the eye of the beholder. Some paint schemes actually used to film are simply bad under normal lighting conditions - remember how many tricks and filters were used. Go with what you see and you like.
Oh Lou, I'm sorry for being such a pedant, but your nomenclature is driving me nuts. 'Star Drive' is not a term used anywhere in Trek. What you are calling the Star Drive is the secondary hull. So, Saucer, secondary hull, warp drives/warp nacelles.♥

The "stardrive" section is mentioned in dialogue fairly often in actual TNG episodes

the idea of covering large surface areas with decals is abhorrent to me.
