She isn't even answering the questions. She's trying to make a circle around the question by stating philosophical nonsense. I feel like she got caught in a lie and instead of owning up to it, she's trying to make this fake mirage of herself. She just sounds so uneducated. Like what Tamar says, she needs to "GET YOUR LIFE".

@leslie ackley It's even more funny that you think you know what you are talking about😂 The NAACP was founded by White AND Black people, but included people of all ethnicities. You assume she was more qualified to be president than another Black person, why? Simply because she is "biologically" White probably, you assume she was smarter based on that🙄 You can keep your old White supremist mentality.

    • @quinnmorgendorffer8435

Agreed. As a woman I think there too much emphasis on white or black. While people are forgetting we are all women and getting distracted while our rights are being taken away, getting paid less and victimized like the MeToo movement. Men want to keep women there. They still see us as less than and prey. I had a single mom of 4 girls and humble beginnings. Elite people didn't care we were white to them it is poor vs. Rich. Haves vs. Havenots. I don't want to be black yet I have empathy for anyone with struggle. She can be herself, have respect for black culture and empathy to make a difference. Yet is a line crossed when you claim an opportunity from someone else less fortunate than you and an identity she is not. Smh. She needs help, self acceptance and awareness.

you know what the real irony is, she was turned down on every job she applied to and she couldn't provide for her family, her adoptive african american children. the people that accused her of blackfishing and being racist collectively caused three young members of the african american community to be denied of the proper care they deserved and didn't even bat an eye. and these actions fueled more racism than helping the african american community I believe. there was just so much hate for the family of a woman who felt that she belonged african american community, was an activist for the same community on and off campus. she wasn't hurting anybody. the qualifications for the spot she earned in academy didn't require being black, her education was what got her there and she was trying to bring something positive to the community.

Christina Schimp OK so I’m gonna bump it down why it’s not at all the same and also kind of gross. Female brains and male brain are different. I know that some people are not gonna like that I say that but it’s the truth scientifically they are different. Before and even now if you are of a certain age you have to go through certain testing to be considered trans it means that in your brain you are the gender you believe yourself to be. People don’t just have sexual reassignment surgery it can kill you. It is a birth defect they are literally living in the wrong body. To correct that is essential to their well-being.
This woman is not trying to correct something essential she likes the mantle of being black but she’s never had to deal with the drawbacks. She would like to maintain the essence of our culture without the strength and perseverance. It is disingenuous. If she wanted to relate to the culture to raise strong independent black men to work in the culture to uplift the culture all of those things would be acceptable and congratulatory what she wants to do is put on a costume of race and feel good about it. Don’t confuse something real with something selfish

Tread Knought gender and sex are two different things. No one is trying to disprove that a human’s physical biology depends if they are born with a penis or a vagina. However, it is nonsensical to center someone’s sexual organ or corporeal body to determine how they manifest in the world. The idea that because i have a penis i think and identify through x and y is completely cultural and changes within every community, every person. Not scientific!
Gender identity can not be compared with being transracial because the same way that a persons identity does not base on their sexual organs. It does not base on skin color either. Unfortunately, we live in postcolonial world where an economy was created based on race, and because of this being Black and being White describes the experience that had developed from that trauma. But if you were in ancient Rome no one would be like oh im going to have melanin now. Vice versa with someone from lets say Benin and Togo.
Caitlyn Jenner being a trans woman is really just her not identifying with society’s cultural view on masculinity. Rachael Dolezal saying shes Black comes from a place of deep white guilt to the point of trying to disassociate.

This is so fucked up. This girl is sitting next to all these black women giving her "WTF" stares after answering her question, especially Tamar, but yet, Tamar, Loni, every one of those girls is wearing a silky textured weave. Every one of those girls contour to get a slimmer nose, every one of those girls does something to change their original features to look more European. Even if it's not their intention, what do they think when they put on that silky wig and make their noses smaller? They are doing exactly what that other girl is doing, and I think that everyone only feels some type of way because Rachel can get away with it. These girls out here getting credit for looking lighter skinned, and everything like that, but when a woman wants to base her looks and actions on a black women, every black woman wants to shut her out. I think that is so horrible and hypocritical. Isn't what she's doing along the lines of being transgender? Why is it that we can't accept a woman who wants to be black, but we can accept people who were "born in the wrong body." I'm really upset at this bullshit.
    - Maybe I should hate everyone trying to be Brazilian with all that brazilian weave! I'm brazilian, do you think that that offends me? Yall not identifying as black with that silky texture, blue contacts, blonde weave !!! I'm so done with people

If she wants to be black let her be black, if that what she identifies herself as, it is just like Micheal jackson wanted to be white, people feel how they want to feel, there is lots of black people in my community who want lighter skin colour so they bleach there skin because they ‘feel’ there too dark and lot of us wear hair that straight like Indian, or Chinese, Brazilian to look like white women, but we are born with kinky Afro hair... and don’t get me start on our black people who act like ‘coconuts’ And do not want to embrace there own heritage and ethnicity! To be fair the only thing she did wrong was not own up that she born white and through growing up she felt she was born in the wrong colour instead of making people believe she was black, and I feel had she done that in the first place ... the black and white community would not socially discriminate her, apart from that she has the ‘right’ to feel how she wants to feel, there is so much other identity that get discriminated against such as black men who are gays, skin tones among the black community people will say Beyoncé is more beautiful than Adut Akech because she is light skin, and this very evident in the black community and I have experienced this as a dark skin women with thick Afro hair in my own black community. So to my conclusion people just need accept people who they are no matter what background they are from.

Loni's a "comedian" (I guess) and that other one is a "singer" (I guess) and they neither have the training nor the discipline to properly interview someone about something so clearly personal to them. Now... if they were just trying to have this be a "Oooh, let's have Loni and Tamar put Rachel in check" segment. Fine. But don't pass this off as a deep discussion about "Race vs. State of Mind"

+JoinNat&Nic The fact you don't understand why you need to be a journalist or at least journalism training to interview someone on broadcast television is indicative of why the media is so shoddy nowadays. You can't get to the truth of the topic being discussed or of the person being interviewed if you're to emotionally caught up in your personal opinion. It ceases being an interview and begins being a bash fest. You need to objective when presenting an issue to the masses. Let them make up their own mind. Rachel got flip with Tamar because Tamar came at her already not trying to hear her. Rachel felt defensive and then her answers stopped being even the least bit forthcoming and started being evasive to avoid any further confrontation. Nothing got resolved or answered in these five minutes. Definitely not about race vs state of mind.

That was a powerful question when Tamar asked her "You walk the walk of a black woman?" I have family members that resemble Rachel (the way she appears in this video today) and as a mixed race person myself who appears ambiguous, I find it interesting that while growing up in America, I was always told that because of my "one drop" of black blood that would make me black by default and that is how I should self-identify, however, I didn't walk the walk of a black woman so to say that I'm black exclusively feels like a lie, just as it would if I were to call myself a white woman, even though I am both. This is the reason why I insist on continuing to self-identify as a mixed race or biracial Hispanic woman. I feel that it's a slap in the face to black women (or black folks in general) to call yourself black when you don't look it or live the struggle. It comes across in the same way as this woman Rachel is doing, which is why she angers many black folks by living the lie that she's portraying. I can also see on the other hand why some black folks think that it's an honorable thing that she would want to take on the role of a black woman, but at the end of the day, she can change up her look whenever she decides to and "wash the black off" (and in her case, that would be literally to a certain extent) A true black person doesn't have that luxury.

She's trying to sound smart and it's just not working out for her. Yes, Rachel has done all these things for the black community which is why so many uncle Toms--I mean black people are taking up for her. All that could have been done without turning yourself into a BW. Neither does she need to turn herself into a BW to like our culture. She can talk the talk but she truly hasn't walked the walk of a BW in today's world which is why I understand Tamar's point. You think you know our struggles simply because you put weave in your head, get spray tanned, and claimed your black brother as your son. No amount of makeup, box braids, black husbands, or charity work for the black community will ever make her a black woman. And that's pure fact. #SorryButSureAsHellNotSorry
