I'd never admit outside of my immediate family but To Hell with the Devil probably saved my life. I was into some dark metal and depressed and there was a girl, of course, and she was giving me problems..I was not doing well. But I heard that first song...The Abyss...and then To Hell with the Devil came on and it kicked me in the face. I was hooked. I started going to church and found my faith and I have had it ever since. Stryper is awesome.

Back in the 80s when my friends and I were drinking and drugging and trying to live the metal lifestyle we ran into Stryper on several occasions at parties and backstage at clubs and I have to say these guys held true to their faith every step of the way ! you never saw them doing drugs or picking up on chicks for the night! I’ll never forget one night they were playing at Universal Amphitheater in LA. Of course me and my friends were doing Coke but after seeing Stryper with leatherwolf opening up for them my buddy and I actually felt totally convicted and we threw away the Coke that we had left and as anybody who knows that never happens .....unless the Holy Spirit is involved!......My friends and I who have since become saved and are followers of Jesus still talk about that night! I remember on several occasions Stryper actually throwing small Bibles out into the audience instead of drumsticks and pics nice touch guys!
God will always put light into the darkness in which to change the hearts of those who live in sin. God 🙏 loves all of us even while yet we are sinners!
The last I seen these guys was on UA-cam cruise ship playng acoustic guitar with Ozz fox doing 'more than feeling 'by Boston. Ozz played the solo but I thought he could've done better.

That summer, I became a Christian from listening to their songs, and Petra. GREAT JOB GUYS!!! BRILLIANT AND THE MESSAGE IS SPOT ON!!

The only 80s band that truly sounds exactly like they did in their prime. Mike's the only singer I know that his voice is still in top shape even after been doing this for over 30 years
I have been listening to these guys since their 2nd album, it was 1985 for me and I was a little Christian headbanger in the 5th grade. I am now 47 yrs old. These guys were my outlet from the 1980’s music that glorified drinking, partying, and sex. Their songs pointed out towards God and I was blessed by their lyrics and music. I totally agree with you jssmith2028! I have listened to Stryper since 1984, their first album, yellow and black attack. Wow, 40 years! And yes, where's the other 80's metal bands today? I have watched alot of those, where are they now videos of the other bands from the Stryper era and see why they're not around today. Drugs, alcohol, fighting, dangerous activities and death has taken it's toll on them. It's so sad to see and hear about the addictions, physical injuries, mental health and death that the other bands have gone through. I can't help but to feel sad and have sympathy for them.
With God's blessings, Michael Sweet's singing voice is now seasoned and (imho) sounds better (in various ways, as demonstrated in the more recent albums in the 2000's until present) in comparison to his younger singing voice in the 1980s. I just wanted to take a minute and say how glad I am that I found this tune. I’ve been pretty lost in life for awhile now. Back in the 80s I liked this band. They had some pretty solid metal tunes. Still like the first three releases. I was also listening to bands in the flip side of religion like Venom and Slayer. This tune though doesn't really grab me to be honest. I was and still am not religious, but I didn't and still don't care. If it sounds good, I'm all ears, no matter the message. It's all just fantasy in my opinion.
Disagree. Grew up in the same town as three of them and they were my number one by far for a long time. New stuff all sounds the same. Bums me to say it though...

OverKill, Death Angel, Testament and Exodus have been putting out some really good stuff. Accept, Saxon and Priest(Firepower) have been releasing some of the best stuff of their careers. Diamond Head's two latest albums are easily the best since their debut. Satan did something that's highly improbable with the three records released since their comeback. Each one is if not better then on par with their classic debut. Also Cannibal Corpse has been pretty solid for the past 20 years. So, there are others too. Representing different genres of old school metal but each band is going on really strong. Not that it takes anything away from Stryper's achievements. It's just great when a band is able to keep the bar high in studio surroundings and as well with their live performances. Sadly these guys won't be around forever so get the music and go out to see them when it's possible again. Support the bands and the music you love.
These guys always my favorite. I used to have two records and it was lost due to the flood. I remember when I first heard thier songs and my mother wanted me to record the songs so she could take ut to church. Our preacher was so happy i chose Stryper.
Been an atheist and a Stryper fan for many years. I'm not a beleiver, like most fans, but I can still appreciate well constructed songs, and the moral intent behind each.
@GateKeeperGames 12 although it's a Christians duty to win souls for him but only you will know what your heart wants, if you choose to believe that life is a vision, a dream and nothing exists but space and time and we all are nothing but a thought, that's your prerogative
THE ONE AND ONLY STRYPER! Awesome song guys! This band helped me transition from heavy "devil" metal rock as a young teenager just saved at 19 to STRYPER's powerhouse music pointing to Jesus Christ and His Word in 1986 bought their LP album "The Y & B A" at a little eeny weeny Bible store. 35 yrs. later I still love them. GREAT VIDEO don't you think Judas Priest? Don't you think Motley Crue? Don't you think Black Sabbath? STRYPER is still rockin' and beatin' the devil down. God bless them! Do Unto Others. May we never forget what the Lord has done and how good He has been to us right?
God please bless Oz during his current health issues! The new album is probably their most devout offering to date. It is definitely different from GDE. More melodic metal? But a wonderfully proud and brave proclamation of the Christian faith-genuine believers who will not be perturbed or swayed. It's not easy being a Christian in 2020, but Stryper definitely embody Joshua 1:9!
The Actual Reality is that' Christian Music is under the same constraints for 'Inve$ted Air Play Time' as 'Secular' Spirit Disconnect Music!' 'Nothin Personal' Just Business _ 🎼$🌎$🌍$🌏$🎼
It's kinda funny how skillet gets to drill a whole through your face on Air1 but Stryper is an alien to most people that know skillet. Not hating on Skillet, it's just weird how a group with that sound gets the radio play that Stryper deserves at least a few times.
I agree. Christian radio is over-produced and boring. You could listen all day and you won't hear one guitar solo decent drumming. Total snoozefest. Thank God for Stryper!
@@jakefoxx7978 And what's funny I really dig Skillet. But they would be the first to admit they are not in the same stratosphere as Stryper talent wise as musicians. Strange world we live in where the better you are as a musician the less attention you get on the radio airwaves.....

Been a Stryper fan since I was 16 when I first saw them at the Orange Packing House (Church) Redlands CA. They ROCKED that place and the Yellow and Black lit that place up along with their music!! But I have to say this album is by far the best Album they have produced. Every song on it is one you just absolutely love and you think OK well there is no way topping that one, and then you listen to the next one and you do the same... So there is no go to song on this album that you can say Yeah, this is the best one on this album... I can not wait to see them in concert and take my 10 year old son so he can enjoy them the way I did way back in the day in Redlands CA at the Orange Packing house. And Please pray for OZ!!!

almost 40 years since their first release. they are still getting after it. Jesus likes this song!! Oz and Michael are arguably as good a guitar metal tandem as there ever was.
I love that little "nod" to Oz at 1:48, as if to say, "We got your back, brother. We know what you're going through, and you are strong. Not gonna waste a day!" Amazing song and amazing message. Stryper has always been the real deal, and we are all better because of it!

I heard about Stryper in 1987 living in Venezuela after I saw and recorded a Calling on you vídeo on national tv only music video tv show in the country on Friday nights. I got The THWTD album, translated the lyrics into Spanish and started looking for bible verses- God prepared my heart to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ and when I did hear it- I was ready to accept Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross for me, repented from my sins and started following Christ. Started a band almost a decade after and tried to be an instrument for God to bring others to the kingdom of Christ. Greetings from Canadá.
My favorite band since 1985. Love these guys. Still bringing it hard after all these years, still with the message, still with the amazing songwriting, singing, playing. Michael Sweet. One of the few rock singers from 80s bands that sounds exactly like he did 36 years ago. The man hasn't lost his range or timbre. It's like hearing what I heard at 13 years old. Unbelievable.
I disagree. His voice is not as clean and high pitched anymore as in the eighties and his screams are less agressive. To scream nowadays he has to pick his battles. Michael admitted so himself in different interviews. His voice is just different now, not less. Just different.
I totally agree. I felt the exact same way. The incorporated a lot of the old song musical shapes and notes. The dual harmonies on guitar as well. Love this song !

I'm sure you will find the article(s) where Michael Sweet (lead singer) talks about that. God bless and spread the truth...
This video was shot at the Spire Center for Arts in Plymouth
I just wanted to take a minute and say how glad I am that I found this tune. I’ve been pretty lost in life for awhile now. Ive reached out to the lord, and I know he’s working in my life, and has a plan for me.
This tune is really amazing! Great to see PR from Firehouse in this band.
Love! Love! Love! This tune. I listen to it everyday!
Keep up the good work and god bless.
Just a suggestion how about finding a church that you can go to that will feel like family and you won't feel so lost ,this might be the next step to take in your walk with the Lord ,God bless
I was backsliding and listen to he died by sacred warrior got me back on the right path anyone out there give it a listen blew me away the message
How can you not love these guys. Thank the good Lord for Stryper!
Back in the 80's I used to laugh at Stryper. Now Christian and to see them still going, is awesome. Some tasty licks in this song. God Bless.
"...Laughing At The Christmas Lights We Remember From December..." - The cUrE. "...They Stood There Laughing Their Not Laughing Anymore The Walls Came Down..." - The CAll. "...And We Will Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh At Your Lives..." - The DeAD Kennedys.
And still carrying that heavy metal guitar sound. A blast from the past!
I did the same thing!! Those bumblebee outfits.....now that I'm Christian...I love them!!!
Me, too. I was into the occult & drugs, but I loved this band.
Praise Jehovah, our God,and His awesome Son !! Stryper still ROCKS!
I've been a Stryper fan since the 80's and I have to say, these guys haven't lost a step. Such good 80's inspired metal here in 2020!!
Check out BARNABAS. Start with their 1983 LP "Approaching Light Speed"...
Disagree. Grew up in the same town as three of them and they were my number one by far for a long time. New stuff all sounds the same. Bums me to say it though...
Thank you Stryper for reminding me to share the love of Christ and be a light of hope in a dark world!
Thank you Stryper my voice wasn't loud enough. Thank You our Mighty God . an AWESOME GOD !!!!!
@UCZo96KhZguvDxVLss_e6HzA praying and repenting daily .... Help others while we still can .
STAY STRONG WE ARE FEW
WE ARE STUBBORN AS WE KEEP THE LAWS
WE ARE MEEK AS THE LAW KEEPS US
Stryper is one of the few bands from the 80's somehow kicking and sounding just as good as ever.. Must be a result from staying clean and sober..
By, thru, & bc of Him!! 💜🤗
copy paste
AMEN!!!
They didn't exactly stay fully clean and sober, they had their issues. They have clearly stopped it though
Unfortunately in Against the Law, Stryper wasn't very clean or sober.
This is my kind of church music!!! I absolutely love these guys!!!
Badass! Stryper still got it. Two of the most underrated guitarists in rock/metal, and Michael can still sing great. Love this song and the message.
Can’t think of any other 80’s bands that are putting out killer albums like Stryper does killer keep the Fire coming🤟🏻🎸🎸
Styx and Kansas are still pumping out amazing new music. Not discrediting this very good song though.
Amen Jeff!
This so true STRYPER 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 strong music and the message
Queensryche’s last couple of albums have been great. Iron Maiden have put out good material as well.
Was admire your musics n lyrics, now even your consistency.... still rocking in 2020....wow, i'm not alone
While other bands of that era have lead singers losing their voice, Michael Sweet is just a powerful as ever. Amazing.
And stryper is stillleading all the 80s bands with new material
Stryper is a warhorse: Still going strong!
They are so gay for Jesus.
@Lucem lolfuckin l
@Lucem 😂😂😂👌
@Lucem
You people and your imaginary friends lmao
At least you admitted they are gay for Jesus. We are at half agreement here.
Satan sucks
If this song doesn't make you cry 😭 cus of the message. Stryper is truly an anointed band. One of my new favorite songs!
Michael Sweet is a low key guitar legend. Dude’s been cranking out amazing solos for 30 years.
I'm so happy hear Stryper again
These guys always my favorite. I used to have two records and it was lost due to the flood. I remember when I first heard thier songs and my mother wanted me to record the songs so she could take ut to church. Our preacher was so happy i chose Stryper.
Been an atheist and a Stryper fan for many years. I'm not a beleiver, like most fans, but I can still appreciate well constructed songs, and the moral intent behind each.
I respect you, and Jesus loves you.
Bless the love for pure music
Hello, interesting remark, "the moral intent" - how do you define that and upon what basis ? Very impressed that you're a Stryper fan !
@GateKeeperGames 12 although it's a Christians duty to win souls for him but only you will know what your heart wants, if you choose to believe that life is a vision, a dream and nothing exists but space and time and we all are nothing but a thought, that's your prerogative
soul4saken dude, you are so close to coming over to the other side. Keep listening you never know. 👍🏻
I don’t understand how someone could dislike this... by far their best album to date, and they deserve #1.
Please raise him up god and heal him!
Amen! May he get that healing touch from the Saviour and be raised up whole.
They're Satanists... Michael Sweet said so in a few recent interviews... Do a Google search and warn others...
@@luisforeal8676 what a troll.....you reap what you sow........
He needs to be born again, first and foremost.
I wish Christian radio would play more music like this.
They won't
Stryper fan forever. Their sound always calms me...or is it that special message within the song that brings peace! God bless you all.
My boys!!! Saw them when I was 13...White Lion opened for them. Still growing strong!! Rock ON and all glory to my Lord and Savior JESUS Christ
My first concert!
Early White Lion- "Fight to Survive" was the bang!
I'm sitting here eating my lunch and went on UA-cam and this was in my feed.
I am literally blown away.
Beautiful guitar work, drummer awesome getup.
Love the message.
Thank you for staying true to Jesus and His message.
Back to Rockin the Rails
Making music great again, Stryper!!! Perry is such a beast on the bass. Soooo glad he's in the band. To God be the glory!!
One of the best videos as ever, and as Stryper has done, with a lot of talent, dedication, effort and love. Up Stryper and thank God for this video blessing that has left us through Stryper. Hug and keep rocking!!✊🏻🟨⬛🟨⬛🟨💣💥
Wow! Stryper truly sounds awesome with this newer sound. Loving the message of the song too. We really do need to look after one another.
The new album rocks!!! Best of their career!
Stryper has always been one of my favorite bands for over 30 years. I was very fortunate to see the original line up and meet both Micheal and Robert who were so down to earth and wonderful to talk to. This song is great and his vocals still are amazing the whole band is. Perry is a great addition to the band and the video has a beautiful message as so does the song keep rocking my brothers and hope to see you live again one day
AGREE! I think they were with Carmen in the olden days as a share band days and they are were awesome. Sweetest people I ever met. I think they were at Carowinds one year I was there!
Lord, please protect that voice and the band till their last days.
🙏
This is nothing compared to seeing Stryper live. They are so powerful live, will definitely see them live again.
My ears rang for months!
Yo, Stryper rocks, dude!
Stryper hit another one out of the park with this one! Bravo guys!
Hello my friend this is Derek Petersen I have been a fan sence the beginning I am so thankful for y’all when I listen to y’all’s music a lot of time I feel the Holy Spirit thank you may god bless all of you keep doing what y’all do never stop yours truly Derek Petersen in Pearland Tx
Stryper sounds like a breath of fresh air considering the music scene today.
DEF!!!
Right on!!
Amen to that, & they would even if the 'scene' would've kept evolving creatively for all these years!
So you have to go back to go forward.. there's some stryper to listen to back from the 80's.. but yes,, new stuff is always nice
Even though it sounds like every other butt rock song from 88?
JK don't yell at me.
almost 40 years since their first release. they are still getting after it. Jesus likes this song!! Oz and Michael are arguably as good a guitar metal tandem as there ever was.
The best of the best. Long live Stryper!
I can’t wait to see it .STRYPER ALWAYS KEEPING THE FIRE BURNING 🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸🐝 777.
🙏🇺🇸🦅🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸
I love that little "nod" to Oz at 1:48, as if to say, "We got your back, brother. We know what you're going through, and you are strong. Not gonna waste a day!" Amazing song and amazing message. Stryper has always been the real deal, and we are all better because of it!
Lord Jesus we agree and send the word to Oz for healing and his body we ask you Lord that you would do a creative Miracle so that all would know that there is a God in heaven who reveals Mysteries and loves his children is thank you Father for the ministry of striper and all that they have spoken to and led to the Lord over these decades I ask you father you give them even more time that they would Outlast Rolling Stones in the hill with a positive message of Jesus Christ and him crucified we thank you Lord and we pray that there's resurrection power over Oz's life. We pray for visitation impartation revelation and we speak life into all who read this in Jesus name.
One of the best metal bands that still sound awesome, been listening to them since I was really young well like 12 haha lol I'm 31 now still a great band.
Stryper is the greatest Rock band ever! I love them!! To God be the glory!
I LOVE this song! Micheals compassion and the groups desire to serve God is still strong. There is so much hate, hurt, and distain just in outer country alone we can never get enough of compassion. Thank you Micheal Sweet for always taking a stand
I have never seen a band that just keeps getting better and better like Stryper does..
Stryper delivers like no metal band from the 80's is capable of anymore.
What??!!
Maiden,,Priest,,Helloween,,UDO,,Ozzy,,Metallica,,to name a few,,they don't deliever you mean🤔🤔🙄
@@mickes001 I agree, I think tho he meant that genre like hair metal. As far as Ozzy goes, fuck him. He hasn't put out anything worth a shit since No Rest For The Wicked.
@@mickes001 Priest aren't Priest anymore - KK and Tipton are gone.
Ozzy's been shot for at least a decade.
Priest is technically from the 70's and Halford inspired Sweet vocally
Hey dude
Dio is dead and Stryper is releasing way better material than Ozzy, Helloween and Maiden.
Your comment is ridiculously
I have always been a stryper fan from the '80s to present I'm 51 and I still love stryper! They are really genuine Christians all their songs praise our Lord and savior Jesus Christ! My children grew up with stryper and they also love stryper! My children became Christians
Never had tears in my eyes listening to rock music. This is the first time.
Magnum opus. As far as I am concerned, this is Stryper’s best album ever. Every song is diverse & catchy in its own way. In the words of Kip Winger: “Can’t Get Enuff!” 10/10. Five stars.
A Kip Winger reference? Well, you can't get more authoritative than that!
My earliest memories..9 years old..SOLDIERS UNDER GOD'S COMMAND! EPHESIANS 6
Absolutely beautiful great song Michael Sweet has a powerful beautiful voice that touches everyone's heart around the world great song writer great guitar player great guitar solo Stryper is one of the greatest underrated band of the 80s, n still rocking hard today 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹
Modern riffs with classic Stryper - add an amazing (and catchy) chorus with powerful vocals and killer guitar work.... GREAT song, probably my favorite since Soldiers (or Yahweh).
One of the best rock productions I have ever heard!
Wow. Just wow.
One of the most underrated bands in the world to me Stryper are the best 🐝
Agreed. It's good to hear music that moves you and actually requires talent.
Absolutely a killer song, message and band. Rocking for the Rock!
I love these brothers, miss oz and Tim saw these guys play in Bellingham high school , when I just became Christian , and had lunch in Vancouver Canada! Hey Stryper if u read this come back to Vancouver. God bless you guys
God, please bless these guys and help them to keep delivering Your messages to the lost and even the found who need encouragement!! Amen!
So good to see you Brother's Rocking it
Remember the good ol Radio city day's Michael you were always cool Brother
Always enjoyed your shows you guy's sound amazing the Lord has really blessed you continue to blaze that trail
Let’s just all have a moment of silence for that high note at the end. MS……You are incredible. Has to be the #1 song from these guys.
Gave a thumbs up. Why wait, hit the like button, you already know
Thanks Gentlemen ! Yes, ... adding this song to my workout track and my learn to play list. Cheers & Praise The Lord !
He can still wale....And the music is amazing.......And they are amazing men!
I think this is my favorite song on the best album of 2020! ✝️☝️🇺🇸👍💛🖤💛🖤
Praise God I can rock our with no blasphemy!
Than you God!
Thank you for filtering channels thru this awesome band!
This is the sound the world needs
This should have been the lead single, this is the very first song since the ealry days , where I really feel the Stryper I love
True
Listen to the title track! Sounds just like 80s Stryper!
I totally agree. I felt the exact same way. The incorporated a lot of the old song musical shapes and notes. The dual harmonies on guitar as well. Love this song !
@@kotzensue slightly better
Agreed, it's like the record really takes off from this song onward. The first two songs are alright, but this one is excellent.
love micheals guitar work and his guitar playing great singer great guitarist rock on stryper🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Wow this album!! Their best one yet in my opinion.
