We made an animated short film in ONE WEEK using Toon Boom Harmony and After Effects. This time around, Genus made an informational behind the scenes video for this week's retrospective. Hope you guys like it!
Next week we'll have a new short, subscribe if you want to see that and the other videos we've made.
This is going to be an indie animated web series called '15 Over 15'; a series where we make 15 shorts in 15 weeks.

Some SEO stuff: cartoon, anime, comics, comedy, making of, behind the scenes, film festival, animation, filmmaking, Family Guy, Season 23 episode, The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, King of the Hill, South Park, American Dad, Big Bang Theory, full episode, season 32, full episodes, glitch, glitchx, Arcane
I used to make a 2d animation every week back in the day. It is nice to see other folks do so now.
Its good practice. Consistency is key

That's crazy production level
Sorry this retrospective was so delayed guys. For some reason my software kept glitching and crashing
-Genus
ohj damn, very impressive, thanks for the video :O
Wow great stuff! Impressive how fast you guys were able to do this
just saw the final product and wow! I am genuinely impressed. making projects like these sounds so fun, maybe one of these days ill try making my own ^^
You guys are hella underrated. Love to see other artists at their craft 🙌
This is true passion. Good job y'all
This is great! I love watching the behind of scenes of the process people go through when making animations lol
interesting stuff! keep it up!
i wonder where you guys got the joke from
Oh my god I should've brought that up in the video. It wasn't mentioned in our prepro recording. For anyone reading, the Blender joke came from our friend Mel

Nice work! 💙
I've been on this journey and let me tell you that as a toon boom user I spend more time switching tools and windows and rigging using that awful node system they have its unbelievable to think:
1. Its pro software
2. That any cartoons actually get made
3. That this is considered animation software at all.
Haha. Tbh I actually like Toon Boom's node system and Harmony as a whole for the most part. I didn't mention in the video but I honestly had fun assembling our bare bones rig. If I had a complaint I think there needs to be more rigging specific implementation like IK controls. You can get them but its overly convoluted to get decent results. Moho honestly has Toon Boom beat in that department.
Thanks for watching the video and sharing your thoughts!

Nice hehe
dope
Cool
wow
Im glad i subbed.. great work. Very inspiring.
How is it possible to be so cool?
Idk, we should ask u

808 subscribers, bob.
can you make one but in flipaclip please? a 2d one
Dude you can just put and rig 2D imgs in Blender you don't need another tool for that.
Even more you can draw and rig 2D characters in Blender using Greas Pencil tool.
You edit it like a mesh, but it is a 2D drawing and you can mix it with 3D, modifiers and gen-nodes.
2D imgs put into blender would be rasterized and you'd lose all the benefits that come with vectors. And while grease pencil is great, it still has a long way to go and leaves a lot to be desired over software actually built for 2D animation. That all being said, anyone can use whatever software they'd like to create their art. There's no reason to force one software over another in a such a casual setting

Do you guys have day jobs as well?
We do. Genus works at Glitch and I work for an engineering company
-sharp
Right now I currently work fulltime as an animator
-Genus
Hi
Hello
-sharp
Thanks, Jesus-Christ loves you !!
Awesome explanation, love 2D animation. I got a question for you, from your years of experience in animation, would you help me understand what tool and app used this video: ua-cam.com/video/IvTxOwj71s0/v-deo.html
Looks like rigged 2D animation to me
-Genus
Man, I respect that but the sheer amount of effort you had to put in is terrifying to me personally! Can't wait to see AI making it 2x-3x less time-consuming
