I backed in him to a corner and made him repeat out loud what he had said to me. when I walked out I took all but one of the other employees with me. 10 of us quit at once. the only reason number 11 did not quit was he wanted GM's positions and used this and the recording of him telling him that I would come crawling back for my job begging him and when I did he was going to have me under his thumb, and he would be nice enough to give it back But I would be on my knees for a good long time before I got it back. I walked out reported him and had a new job that afternoon. double the pay, plus benefits and it was 40 hours. I never went back but the New GM our buddy did hire all who walked out back at a nice pay raise and most who took him up on the offer are still there because he's a cool guy. Old GM was moved because another store "needed his assistance" he was fired 6 months later when he physically assaulted one of the teen girls who worked for him. her daddy kicked the shit out of him and had him arrested for the assault. the company had been moving him from place to place because he was buddy, buddy with the owners. they could no longer protect him after the girl's dad pressed charges. he's doing 5 years for the assault.
I'm glad GM was finally forced to take some consequences, but the owners should have had to take some too for letting/helping him get away with it for so long!
One funny thing I m learned as an adult - you know you are headed for some crazy sh*t when you pay for psychic services & halfway in the session, he / she says she can't help you & gives you your money back....This has happened to me TWICE. Once when I was going through my divorce in Summer 2011, the other this past January. It's kinda sad that your life is so scary you get refunds.

For those who don't know what Munchausen Syndrome is, it's basically a disorder where you constantly make yourself or others sick for attention. It's most commonly seen in mothers who continue to poison their children for attention. How did Karen come to this conclusion, might you ask? Well, I have a long and detailed medical history, literally starting from the day I was born a full moth premature. And our "lovely" neighbor was insistent that my mother, who struggled to keep the lights on some nights, was doing all of this to me for attention. Now, we were never struggling so horrible that we had to sell our valuables or never got anything other than the bear essentials like some. I still had Christmas and birthday presents, and my brother and I still got toys and games 98% of the time when I we asked nicely. And those surgeries were mostly on vital organs like the heart and brain. So I can assure you, my mother was not faking anything. I am terrified of death. Over the summer, I was at a program for the blind where we learn to be independent, living on our own, cooking, grocery shopping, planning outings, all that jazz. During the first week, we were taking busses all over the city during a bad heat warning, whatever those are called. We walked to bus stops, rode the bus, walked to our different locations, all that. We went for donuts for breakfast, then for coffee at a Dutch Bros, then to the mall. This whole time, we were constantly going from boiling heat to air conditioning. Well, it turns out my body physically can’t handle intense heat, especially when combined with my own sweat and the sun. I colapsed to my knees about fifty feet into the mall and couldn’t stand up. My chest felt tight and it was hard to breathe. I couldn’t think straight and my heartbeat was so heavy and fast that I could feel it in my eyes. I genuinely thought I was going to die. All I could think about was how desperately I wanted to stay alive, or at least die with people I love around me. I couldn’t even cry because of how dehydrated I was. I ended up in the hospital and was out cold while on an IV for a good four hours or so. I know that there’s been a shift in me since then. I alternately go from wanting to live it up because I could die at any moment, to not wanting to do anything because I’ll just die anyway. I wish I could see a therapist about it, but I can’t. I feel like I’m faking it whenever I try to act cheerful and carefree and supportive around my friend group and just wish I could have a few weeks or more to myself to deal with this because I know it’ll eat away at me if I can’t. In short, death is my new biggest fear. It used to be sexual assault, but I’m realizing that death is far, far worse, at least for me.
Hi! I work in Human Resources and here is some of my favorite fucked up shit that has happened. 1. A guy was found sleeping on the job and sent home. Later that day he went out driving drunk, and got in an accident which left him in coma. Three days in a coma later, he wakes up and comes back to work. The daughter of the owner proceeded to fire him, and like two months later he died of cirrhosis of the liver. The daughter of the owner wanted to do a memorial and my boss said absolutely not since she was the one who pushed to fire him and everyone in management knew it. 2. One of our IT managers had it out with a finance director who happened to be having an affair. One day when that director went out to "lunch" with one of the VPs, the IT manager flew a drone past the car and caught them doing the deed on film which he then sent to the finance director's husband. 3. An employee was angry because his coworker had been in the bathroom too long so he started hammering at the door and demanding the coworker get out. (There were other bathrooms available.) 4. At my previous job, it was widely accepted that managers carried guns and knives. One of the managers was on the phone, randomly walked into my office with a switchblade, and proceeded to stab a box right next to me before walking out like nothing. I left there as fast as I could.

I'm not afraid of dying at all. Logically, there are two possibilities; either I exist as a soul residing in a physical body, or I am nothing more than a physical body. If the later, then everything ceases at death and there is *literally* nothing to be afraid of; no potential pain, suffering, or even boredom, just complete non-existence. On the other hand, if I exist as a soul, then self-awareness could potentially continue after physical death. I can only be curious about what that entails. Personally, I am semi-spiritual non-religious. That means I believe, though not with absolute conviction, that there may be a non-physical/spiritual aspect of existence concerning souls in which the 'self' had existed before the body and will persist after death. However, I do not have any significant beliefs in a creator deity nor any kind of superior spiritual entity that one might consider God. I'd need to actually meet one to accept that as real and I have no rational basis to even presume that as a valid possibility. So, I mentally prepare myself for an eventuality that, when I die, my soul will be able to leave my body and do... whatever it is that souls do after leaving their body; I'll discover and study that when I come to it. If I don't prepare for that, and it happens, then I'd be caught on the back foot. But if I do prepare, and abruptly, entirely cease to exist at death, then nothing I did or didn't do in life will have mattered; it would all have amounted to the same end result anyway.
I'm sorry but, I really can't recommend trying to make friends at work. At a certain point making friends at work is so much more dangerous if something goes wrong in the friendship. Plus it makes it harder to escape work issues during free time. I've good acquaintances at work but when the work day is over we don't know each other anymore.

Here in the States, we have a type of *pasta* (made of semolina flour dough) called _orzo._ It is shaped kinda like barley grains (probably its namesake) and often cooked with rice to make pilaf. I am terrified of death. Over the summer, I was at a program for the blind where we learn to be independent, living on our own, cooking, grocery shopping, planning outings, all that jazz. During the first week, we were taking busses all over the city during a bad heat warning, whatever those are called. We walked to bus stops, rode the bus, walked to our different locations, all that. We went for donuts for breakfast, then for coffee at a Dutch Bros, then to the mall. This whole time, we were constantly going from boiling heat to air conditioning.
Well, it turns out my body physically can’t handle intense heat, especially when combined with my own sweat and the sun. I colapsed to my knees about fifty feet into the mall and couldn’t stand up. My chest felt tight and it was hard to breathe. I couldn’t think straight and my heartbeat was so heavy and fast that I could feel it in my eyes. I genuinely thought I was going to die. All I could think about was how desperately I wanted to stay alive, or at least die with people I love around me. I couldn’t even cry because of how dehydrated I was. I ended up in the hospital and was out cold while on an IV for a good four hours or so.
I know that there’s been a shift in me since then. I alternately go from wanting to live it up because I could die at any moment, to not wanting to do anything because I’ll just die anyway. I wish I could see a therapist about it, but I can’t. I feel like I’m faking it whenever I try to act cheerful and carefree and supportive around my friend group and just wish I could have a few weeks or more to myself to deal with this because I know it’ll eat away at me if I can’t.
In short, death is my new biggest fear. It used to be sexual assault, but I’m realizing that death is far, far worse, at least for me.

1. A guy was found sleeping on the job and sent home. Later that day he went out driving drunk, and got in an accident which left him in coma. Three days in a coma later, he wakes up and comes back to work. The daughter of the owner proceeded to fire him, and like two months later he died of cirrhosis of the liver. The daughter of the owner wanted to do a memorial and my boss said absolutely not since she was the one who pushed to fire him and everyone in management knew it.
2. One of our IT managers had it out with a finance director who happened to be having an affair. One day when that director went out to "lunch" with one of the VPs, the IT manager flew a drone past the car and caught them doing the deed on film which he then sent to the finance director's husband.
3. An employee was angry because his coworker had been in the bathroom too long so he started hammering at the door and demanding the coworker get out. (There were other bathrooms available.)
4. At my previous job, it was widely accepted that managers carried guns and knives. One of the managers was on the phone, randomly walked into my office with a switchblade, and proceeded to stab a box right next to me before walking out like nothing. I left there as fast as I could.

I'm not afraid of dying at all. Logically, there are two possibilities; either I exist as a soul residing in a physical body, or I am nothing more than a physical body. If the later, then everything ceases at death and there is *literally* nothing to be afraid of; no potential pain, suffering, or even boredom, just complete non-existence. On the other hand, if I exist as a soul, then self-awareness could potentially continue after physical death. I can only be curious about what that entails. Personally, I am semi-spiritual non-religious. That means I believe, though not with absolute conviction, that there may be a non-physical/spiritual aspect of existence concerning souls in which the 'self' had existed before the body and will persist after death. However, I do not have any significant beliefs in a creator deity nor any kind of superior spiritual entity that one might consider God. I'd need to actually meet one to accept that as real and I have no rational basis to even presume that as a valid possibility. So, I mentally prepare myself for an eventuality that, when I die, my soul will be able to leave my body and do... whatever it is that souls do after leaving their body; I'll discover and study that when I come to it. If I don't prepare for that, and it happens, then I'd be caught on the back foot. But if I do prepare, and abruptly, entirely cease to exist at death, then nothing I did or didn't do in life will have mattered; it would all have amounted to the same end result anyway.

I'm sorry but, I really can't recommend trying to make friends at work. At a certain point making friends at work is so much more dangerous if something goes wrong in the friendship. Plus it makes it harder to escape work issues during free time. I've good acquaintances at work but when the work day is over we don't know each other anymore.
