I love all the wicked tricks they are putting into the maps for the world tour, it's gonna allow for more upsets and comebacks, and generally be a lot more entertaining to watch as a spectator.
push your luck lines should exist in any case... they should be giving people behind a way to catch up...

Well this map turned out to be pretty infuriating to drive for the players and was deemed one of the more random maps. Tough line between fun for the viewers and fun for the players.
I would love to see Wirtual really grinding for World Cup qualification
Watching Granady discover this and the other tracks was insane. It's mindblowing how fast he learns. Same thing with the Summer campaign, he almost oneshot every author medal averaging faster than 1 medal per minute for the first 10 tracks.

Fast learning skills and extreme consistency. I believe Scrapie is even a bit better in that regard but he loves change too much to be willing to learn a handful of maps for weeks.

Wirtual, against Fried Liver Opening, you should learn the Traxler Counterattack, as if they don't know it, you can sometimes get checkmate in a few moves. GothamChess has a pretty good video on this, I recommend you watch it to beat the pesky Fried Liver users.

I think you could do well in world cup if you put dedication into these maps the same way as you do into some insane maps like that tower maps. Top 32 could be achievable.

Fried Liver is so easy to counter.

with this the attack is nullified
if you play sicilian then you can always just go e6 to block the bishop.

What I play against the Fried Liver in chess is the Traxler countergambit : playing even cheaper against cheap players ! I think I have over 80% winrate, cause I just know more theory than anyone at my strengh, and it juste makes them tilt
