If Jokic doesn't get MVP with this arguably greatest season ever, I would feel sick to my stomach. Burn the whole voters down if this happens. I don't care Dallas winning 60 or OKC winning 65 games. Jokic is up there with peak Jordan and LeBron, what are we talking about?
Okay, so, haven't watched yet but here's my very daring prediction: Jokic is going to feature heavily. Probably some fringe Wemby talk. SGA will depend on Thunder success staying course - and on Chet. I don't really believe in Tatum getting it because the team's too stacked to really detach HIM specifically. He'll get some votes though. Same for anyone on the Cavaliers right now (I mean who would you even pick between Garland and Mitchell?), but again likely some votes - who for though, I'm not sure. For Luka he's good, but with a similar record to Jokic (looking likely so far - if you take into account strength of schedule and such) he won't get it over Big Honey. Probably some votes again though.
@@nickc.4558 Not the same impact. Whether you're looking at Net On/Off (+29.5 vs +1.5), BPM (9.6 vs 6.0), whatever impact metric, Jokic is having a much more impactful season than Giannis right now. You're very right that he'll likely get some votes though, I shouldn't have forgotten to include him. One thing I'm thinking will slow him down in MVP votes is having Lillard next to him, though it'll be interesting to see how the Bucks do the rest of the season. Their start was... not good, but they're doing better. I'm not sure if it's partly to do with the strength of their schedule at different times or what, so we'll see.
@@gilless429 Those numbers are largely because Jokic only plays with the starters . In reality Giannis has a better chance to win the award than big honey , because Nuggets will finish between 6th and 10th . That means he doesn't have a chance to win the award
@@nickc.4558 That statement about only playing with starters is baseless afaik. You can go look on PBPstats yourself, but he's played 302 minutes with Westbrook, 225 with Strawther, 347 with Watson... Obviously, starters play more minutes so he'll be with them mostly, but he plays with bench players plenty. Which isn't surprising when you see he's playing more than 37 mpg, with none of the other starters on his team playing as many as him. And yes, a bad record might hurt his chances. But an estimation that accounts for schedule strength has them at a likely 51 or so wins by the end of the season right now (about 4th seed), so it's likely they won't be a play-in team. Not top seed either. It'll be interesting to see how that goes, and how it affects MVP voting.
man i'm 37 and from Brazil and I TOTALLY GOT the "who's on first" reference from costelo (ALSO i feel like a lotta kids my age were introduced to it thanks to the animaniacs cartoon)
I think that KAT has actually really messed up Jalen Brunson's MVP chance. I don't gamble but before the season I actually thought about putting some money on Jalen Brunson but now he's not the best player on his own team. If they had not traded for KAT and Jalen Brunson had led them to 50 plus wins I think he would have had a real shot partially because New York is the center of media. Now I don't think either one can win it because they're going to split the New York vote.
I think that there will be some voter fatigue for the Joker especially if they're a seven or eight seed. I think that leaves the door finally open for Tatum. It may end up just being one of those "best player on the best team" kind of things. I'm not a Celtics fan so I'm not wanting that to happen but I think that is going to happen.
I think Donovan Mitchell will finish right there at the back of the top five. Anywhere 4 through 7 but I could definitely see him at number five. The problem is that I think his votes will be divided a little bit and not necessarily from Garland. I think he will command more of the vote percentage from his team than Brunson will get from his. I don't think anybody on the Cavaliers will challenge him for votes as much as karl-anthony towns will take a lot of votes from Jalen Brunson.

My list, made before hearing either of yours, for what it's worth: 1. SGA 2. Jokic 3. Luka 4. Tatum 5. Wemby Yeah I'm not too sure about Wemby, but the gigantic amounts of hype everyone has about him make me think he might sneak in. PS: not my own MVP list, like in the video it's what I think will go down.

Jokic is the definition of an MVP, it's great by him to follow up after his last season too

If Jokic is going to be featured then Giannis should be . Same record , same impact

Don't worry, one viewer caught the Abbott and Costello ref early. :3
Same! Some of the best comedy ever made. =)
I always respect your perspectives, but it feels disrespectful to have perfect angel sweetheart Derrick White any lower than we'll say third for MVP

Just give it to Jokic. Even if he ends up getting injured somehow and only plays 40 games, he’s been so good that he should still be MVP.
