Had to buy the Trunk Latch, it was defective as the power was working but just didn’t open. Cost me $27 on Amazon (they even have cheaper but I also bought American made) and super easy to install! Thank you for this video it guided me in the right direction.
If you press the button (trunk or key or interior) and lights turn on then is the Trunk Latch, that was my issue and bought it on Amazon and installed myself in less than 20 minutes.
I’ve got the exact same problem on my 2011 Charger! Your video is great and well explained 👍🏼 really helpful.
Thanks 👊🏻😎
@@juandiaz7336 glad it could help. Cheers!
What if it doesn’t open with any of the options including key and inside button?
Could be a fuse or the latch mechanism is faulty. I would pull the wire from the switch and check for voltage coming in.

@@MaxAC having the same issue but there is no individual fuse for the trunk,I could be wrong.
Mine doesn’t function with the key fob remote or the interior trunk button as well . Did that charger do the same thing ??
no mine was just the button on the lid, check your fuse

I fixed it ! I changed the whole latch assembly.
Thanks you guys
@@marellano7530 how did you open it if no buttons worked?
My trunk won’t open with either of the buttons. When I press the trunk button on my key fob it lights up but won’t open.
What’s the part called exactly??
Did your rear taillight s not when this didn't?
Absolutely
Why did you edit out the part of you putting the back light back in!?!? That’s where I’m struggling!!!
How did you take the light out? Just put it back the same way.
Is there a fuse that could have failed? Or is the best bet that the button is dead
If you noticed when I jumped the button terminals it worked so that rules out all other problems.
I REALLY like your shirt
YEs, I got if from a good friend of mine.
Im having the same problem with my 2016 Dodge Charger.
Good luck, it sounds like a common problem.
