Sleepy Brown is the ATL version of Nate Dog doing classic hooks for OutKast m, Goodie Mob etc. He is also one third of the promotion team Organized Noise. The guy talking at the beginning is Rico Wade whose is also part of Organize Noize. Wade's little cousin became a rapper named Meathead. Meathead eventually changed his name to Future.
*one third of the Production team. I was going to say that too. He is the king of hooks down for the Dungeon Family. I still think that Organized Noize was/is the greatest production collective. They fused so many genres (Soul/R&B, Jazz, Rock, HipHop) into their signature sound.
The Players Ball that they are talking about started I believe in the 60's. If you want to see what it looked like, stream the godfather of all players movies, The Mack starring the late Max Julien. It's a classic.
My homie Goo played this song for me in 8th grade and I thought it was some new G-Funk guys down with Snoop, DPG, Nate, and Warren. The beat was so G-Funk and he said naw this Atlanta rap, and from then on out I was trying to listen to as much ATL artists as I could find. OutKast is the best from Atlanta though and probably always will be, at least to me.
Man hearing this had me thinking give you some more E-40 rappers ball featuring Too Short k-ci in there Tupac in the video but he's just dancing😂 and he has another track called sprinkle me his sister is in it rapping with him taking everyone back with this one
