Now that you mention it - I'm trying to think if I have;) I wonder if it is because of their smaller size? It is a bit scary to think that they just blow up with the metal can.
I'm so careful around caps that I've been lucky not to blow any up. I hear stories from others about shrapnel flying around after hitting the power switch...and finding an error...
I'll have to talk to the experts to see if smaller caps don't dry out as fast as the big ones - and why the stress creases are not common. Now that I think about it - I have seen creases on some - but they are not the same pattern as their larger through hole counter parts... hmmm
