Welcome to the world of Little Feat! Multi talented group of musicians. Enjoy!!
Waiting for Columbus was our "go to" party album when I was in High School in the '70's. Awesome!
Been waiting for this. This whole album, both disks, not one miss on it. My favorite live album bye a mile.
One of the greatest bands of the 70s. I saw them twice during the Lowell George years.
Little Feat was such an awesome band. You are in for a treat on your journey exploring their music.
❤
Yeah! Little Feat is a crackling ball of energy, spitting out such grooves. Go down this rabbit hole!
Thanks!
Crush that album please. Even just in your own time. It’s so good. My Dad listened to this and I picked it up as an adult and have never put it down. Start to finish it is live music at its finest. Dixie Chicken is just perfect if you have a thing for the piano.
Nice done 👍 Please dive deep into Little Feat 🙏 The whole album is fire 🔥🔥🔥 Spread the love 🐶😎🇺🇸
One of my favorites of all their albums
BTW, There's a link back to Robert Palmer... "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley" With Little Feat backing
Live version, fantastic!!!
This is an alternate version from the original version on "Waiting For Columbus", and it is just different enough that you can notice the difference. Saw Feat with Lowell George in 1978, and about nine more times over the years. "Spanish Moon" was always a highlight at every show, but I never did get to see Little Feat with the Tower Of Power Horn section. Did get to see TOP separately and they were awesome too.
Right, not sure why this version was recommended, the WFC main version is so much better
Tower of Power Horns, legendary. Lowell George lead singer..RIP.
Right on. I'm a massive Little Feat fan as well, but TOP is what makes this recording. Check them out sitting in w/The Band at the Academy of Music (Rock of Ages). Peace and love from NC!
@@austenbrinkley2206 ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME, criminal they are not in.
Now you know why us old fellas keep on sayin music today just ain't the same
Try diggin on The Band. The Weight is a good start. Then check out the Playing For Change version.
Waiting for Columbus is one of the greatest live albums of all time!
I can't say how worth while this band is worth your exploration but it's well worth your time!
Great album! Little Feat...once called the Best Band you Never Heard of". Saw them in New Orleans. Great live!
I've said this before on countless reactions, but my son was Feat's guitar technician for about 10 years. He left when Paul Barrere died. Lucky enough to have autographed posters and memorabilia all over my house. This is one of my favorite Feat tunes. 🥰🤘✌️😅
Man, I would ask for something but it’s too valuable
Another great gone too soon. Lost Lowell in 1979.......only 34. I remember he had sever liver damage and needed a liver transplant. The heroin overdose was the last straw. I remember I cried. I recommend you explore more. Dixie Chicken is amazing. Bill Payne the keyboardist was a classically trained pianist and he does a solo in Dixie Chicken that is Gershwiny to the max...impressive. Check it out. Love that you appreciate them.......Little Feat oooooooo yeah.
Where did you find this? It's not from 'Waiting For Colombus', which is the supreme version. The double album is essential listening. Recorded in DC and London in 1977.
Oddly this version isn’t actually the one from Waiting for Columbus. This version is okay but the WFC version blows this one out of the water
Cought these guys alongside los lobos in the early 90s Great live show ..
PERFECT.
The greatest live album of all time
Love these guys. That whole LP is excellent! Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
ANOTHER one from Little Feat
IF you want a song title to paint a picture
"Fat man in the bathtub with the blues"
FANTASTIC
I was at one of the concerts where this album was recorded - Lisner Auditorium in DC, 1977. Still the best concert I ever went to! And I'm going to see them again on Aug 19 - can't wait!
Hi @ Mugnify Reacts - Waiting For Columbus is one of the best live albums of all time ! I prefer the analogue records - but no matter what format - Little Feat was one of the funkiest live bands ever with very good musicians. Thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from hamburg (Germany)
Nothing but Greatness from the F E A T!!❤❤
Oh yeah. This is a good one. This whole album is really really good.
Love Feat!!!!!
Little Feat back in the day was the ultimate club venue band. Used to love them at a place called Richards in Atlanta back in the day. Richards had a real low ceiling that just trapped that funkiness and held it right there.
If you love this, you’ll love….. at the Fillmore East Allman Brothers band another double live album
Probably the best version I ever heard and I've heard many live and bootleg live.
The Spanish moon was a real club in Louisiana, it's still there but only the building remains. RIP to The Spanish Moon
Just pull the Waiting for Columbus live album. Next up " Fat Man in the Bathtub".
Check out the live video where they are using this as the "walk off" song!
When I was young I always thought Lowell George was a black man. His voice! Man could he play the slide guitar!
Loved them in the 70s,love them now.
Lowell George was talented and funky as hell. Another link in the circle is he produced the Grateful Deads' Shakedown Street where you hear some Lowell's funk coming through.
Try "Rock and Roll Dr" from album- Feats don't fail me know. You will absolutely love it. Guaranteed!!!
& Love the reviews. Keep it Rockin Now!!!🎶🎶🎵🎶🔥💯✌
Check out their song Dixie Chicken, its a different vibe
He already did
Little Feat were great and Lowell was a great singer, but you should
Check out the trilogy they did with Robert Palmer starting with Sneaking down the alley with Sally
Notice it’s Little Feat, not Little Feet.
Put them in the Rock hall of fame already... Wtf
Spanish Moon is about a whorehouse in Baton Rouge.. That's the Tower of Power Horns..
That's the " Tower of Power" horns
I thought so..
same album check out Dixie Chicken
I stopped listening to Little Feat (1969-1979) after Lowell George passed in 1979. Lowell George actually quit the band just before his death as tensions grew within the band over creative differences. They later reformed, but that Lowell George vocal CANNOT be replaced! Little Feat made 8 records with Lowell George: Little Feat (1971), Sailin Shoes (1972), Dixie Chicken (1973), Feats Don't Fail Me now (1974), The Last Record Album (1975), Time Loves A Hero (1977), Waiting On Columbus (1978), and Down On The Farm (1979) which was finnished up after LG passed. After reforming, many more records were produced (1987-Present). The band fused a broad styles of genres into a very distinctive sound and produced some notable playlist jams within those first 8 records. Can't speak for the music post 1979. ....... not familiar with it. Great reaction, TY
There are better versions of Spanish Moon. Check out the version that comes after AApolitical Blues on Waiting for Columbus.
hmmm this is not the live cut from the Waiting for Columbus album.... but not bad
Yeah, the greatest artists are often dysfunctional, I think its like autism, highly functional in their pursuits and terrible at life.
Shitty "alternate" version. Palmin' bullshit.
Okay I can mess with this I like to Funk I like his voice I love new discoveries
❤❤❤❤
I thought Maria Maria was by Los Lonely Boys
