I have the habit of listening to the original track first when you upload a remix. Just heard the original of this one and oh my God I can't believe how good it is. I also thought immediatelly: "Now that's a track for Qumu to remix!"

You should listen to some of the other Diddy Kong racing songs, there all so good. I've always loved that game. You should honestly try to game to if you can find a way, it has some of my favorite mechanics of any racing game.

As someone who never had Donkey Kong Country as a child, Diddy Kong Racing was my introduction to David Wise's music. And it never seems to get the attention DKC does, so always nice to see it when it does occasionally get covers.

I honestly think DKR really suffers from not getting any modern re-releases, like on Virtual Console or Nintendo Switch Online. It's a beloved game, but it's stuck on original hardware (and DS for some reason), and it doesn't get introduced to new audiences unlike, say, DKC and Banjo-Kazooie :/
Diddy Kong Racing deserves better, and I really, really hope Nintendo and Rare will figure out a way to re-release it

I love the classic Nintendo sounding midi instruments! I’m pretty sure I heard some Mario+Luigi and Banjo and Kazooie ones with those flute and bassoon parts

The bassoon is actually from a mellotron, it just sounded a lot more crunchy than a real one, so I went with it

This is amazing, it's spooky but it's also fast paced like I'd expect from a racing game, it works really well together with the instrument choice too.
I've heard many good things about Diddy Kong racing and the concept sounds really cool, a racing collectathon with different types of races and vehicles, it sounds like a lot of fun and if the music is this good I should boot up the old N64 emulator and try it out!

Oh it's actually amazing! I absolutely recommend it! It was super fun to figure out secrets and slowly chip away at the game as a kid, and I really enjoy playing through it from time to time now as well. As an added bonus the story mode is almost entirely playable with 2 players using the in-game cheat system (overworld is 1P only, but all the regular races are 2P) ^^
It does get insanely difficult partway through the game though... When the bosses start getting difficult, and when the game expects you to juggle collecting stuff while also finishing in 1st place

I saw where you posted on twitter that next upload is ur next original, so does that mean when you get it up then you will be able to more certainly be on top of biweekly uploads and for a really long while? I remember you saying in the past that one of the big things hindering your normal uploads was ur work on this original
The main-main reason I haven't been able to keep a schedule is due to illnesses and stuff from having a toddler in kindergarten. So while I wanted to focus on getting the original done and that took priority whenever I had inspiration, the reason I've been able to keep the schedule up lately is due to remaining healthy ^^;
(except for delaying this one 1 week due to a stomach bug )

Super excited that they're finally doing something with their treasure trove of music c:
Disappointed they made their own app to do it due to compatibility with smart home music systems (like, I don't know how it'll play with my Sonos system yet), and having my favourite music across different apps is unfun :c
Finally, I'm eagerly waiting on a reply from Soundrop about whether a song being on the app makes it licensable through compulsory licensing or not
