Hey Steve Dannie Ritchie from GR Research said in a video that he received an email from someone pretending to be you asking for speakers for review. Scammers suck. Love your channel.
Thank you Steve. The best audio channel on UA-cam. I already cued up the Mellencamp recording you mentioned. I want to make it clear that even though we took over Pathos distribution in 2019, Upscale Audio/Upscale Distribution can provide service to any Pathos product regardless of age. Pathos is very responsive to us and as always, my company does our best to stand behind the brands we represent. If I'm out of my lane by stating this please feel free to delete my message. Mikhail Gorbachev visited St. Paul MN on June 3 1990 and his crew brought boxes of that Paul McCartney album along and put it in some of the local independent record stores. They likely traded them for American records. It was the second Russian release of the album (1st was a pretty limited pressing), but we all thought we were getting something pretty cool that wasn't available in the US at the time. It was certainly better than most of McCartney's latest studio output.
has Steve done a recap of his album collection? I subscribed to channel for his equipment reviews, but have come to love the different albums highlighted during those reviews.
My Pathos Classic Remix Hybrud Integrated Amplifier turns 3 years old & still going strong. I put some inexpensive new old stock vintage vacuum tubes in that further mellows the tone of the input/preamp stage. It sounds beautiful.. rich & detailed, warm & spacious. It's def a keeper...and is kind of McIntosh in its overall tonality. I highly recommend this product. I also think that bi-amping these low powered amps might be a very good idea. I don't need to do that however.
Its nice to hear the Kinks get some love. I went to a Yeshiva in Providence, Rhode Island in the mid 80's and remember sbeaking out of the dorm to see the Kinks and the Providence Civic Center. I got to shake Ray Davies' hand from the front row and oh boy did I get in trouble for sneaking out to a rock concert. Totally worth it.
I think the design is neat looking. I have their Classic Remix ($3300). 70wpc. Excellent sounding hybrid integrated. And it has the same heat sinks. It uses the same tubes, but ARE part of the preamp. BTW, it, too, is a fully balanced design, but haven't taken advantage of it because my sources are all unbalanced.
Have you heard the Pathos InPol integrated amplifier that Steve reviewed here? IYO, How does it compare to the Pathos Integrated Amp that you currently own?..especially in terms of the degree of tube-like sound it has when you listen to it. I am most likely going to purchase either the Pathos InPol or your amplifier online. I appreciate any info that you can offer me. I am just starting to read up & get familiar with the Pathos products...both on their website & from online audio reviewers of their products. Thanks, David
@davidstein9129 I have not. But I'd say that if I had much more efficient speakers than I do, I'd probably go for the InPol. At the time I bought the Remix, my budget was about $3000, so I wasn't considering the more upscale models.
I totally agree about the Kinks, Steve, A fantastic band, extremely influential for bands of 80s (eg: Madness) and 90s-2000s (like Pulp); they'd deserve more respect and more space in all music lovers' pantheon

Steve, totally agree with you about The Beatles, Stones and the Kinks being the best British Invasion Bands. The Kinks are under rated in US. I also think that that you should give an honorable mentions to the Animals and the Yardbirds, both of whose music stands the test of time. The Early Animals did a much better job of introducing Black American Music to White Teenage Americans than the Stones. The Stones didn't become big until they wrote their own music. Look what Chas Chandler did for Jimi.
Think you missed The Who in third before the Kinks on that list if your being on point. But after The Animals and Yardbirds I think you have to add The Dave Clark Five who gave us gems like "Glad Al Over","Everybody Knows","Can't You Seed She's Mine","Everybody Knows" etc.The Zep thing seems to have a direct current that comes out of the Yarbirds since with Clapton you get Cream,With Beck you get his first LP "Truth" which many of the cognoscenti consider the first heavy metal LP,and with Page you get a stairway to somewhere or else.Man what a boot camp
Thanks for the review Steve. Out of curiosity, did you prefer the sound of the Pathos to the Enliem amp-23R? Both similar price and power output but very different sound signature.

quite why one would need a remote with an amp is beyond me.
I have that Mellencamp CD
Of all his (wonderful) work, that is by far the worst.... ha ha ha
Give me Scarecrow and American Fool any day
Led Zeppelin didn't scale the heights of the Stones, Kinks? Really? I would agree the live performances were mixed, but they reached amazing heights on their albums. Of course this is personal, but my 17 year old daughter would disagree with you.
Thanks, everyone can disagree or agree about taste in music and most things in life. All I can do is express my opinions, that’s it!
Inpol..
Can you fry eggs on the cooktop tubes. LOL
The heat sinks on this thing probably makes 80% of the cost.
Nope. It's very heavy because it has massive inductors for the Inpol circuitry. Though the chassis is compact, it is stuffed to the gills. There are videos that show the insides on the Upscale Audio channel.
Ugly and overpriced. Typically gaudy Italian design aesthetics.
Aesthetics are a matter of taste, but what makes you think it is over priced? It is expensive, but that’s not the same thing.
I have room 3.7 m × 5.2 m. I have amp pathos inpol remix with telefunken gold pin ecc88 tubes 1960. Casstete deck alpage al 300. What do you think? @SteveGuttenbergAudiophiliac
Very good show! I hope the following question is not too personal, but we live in a free society. In the background is a picture of a person with a red shirt, blond hair and a black skirt or black shorts. This person looks a little androgynous. It leads to the question: Is the Audiophiliac heterosexual? Thank you!
What an ugly looking thing! Looks like it was made in someone's garage and spray painted.
So you have changed your mind since your earlier comment accusing it of being bling to double the price?
This may be a good amp but to me it’s an ugly pug.
One of the most unreliable brands I've ever come across constantly going wrong
@@___disso--bey___ yep my amplifier has been repaired at least six times within the space of about 5 years
I have the headphone amp Steve reviewed (bought it because of his review). Zero issues in two years. Sounds amazing.
David Williams comments the same stuff under different guises ("Williams David" in the case of Upscale Audio's Pathos video). I have had a Pathos for best part of 18 months now with zero issues. Take his baseless comments with a pinch of salt.
