Y'all, this was honestly one of the greatest days ever for me because Coheed & Cambria has been my favorite band since probably 8th grade. Go check em out if you haven't and buy a record and shirt or two!
Just curious do you work for a staging company or are part of tour? I know that at my job we rarely get to meet the talent but I would freak if I got to meet coheed or the dear hunter at a show. Actually coming up soon I'm working with bad religion and less than Jake ah it would be dope to meet them. Anyway good video and you are one lucky dog :p
Zach was the best thing to happen to Coheed and probably the main reason they’re still together and going strong. Even though he and Mic have pretty different styles, I think that boded well for the band in general and brought a ton of stability. Hope to see some tasty licks in the new record!
Dan Sykora I 100% agree dude. He's really brought so much to their sound, especially with Color Before The Sun, you can tell he had much more to work with and add to the group
Zach has definitely filled Mic's shoes better than Chris filled Josh's. Obviously Chris was a more technical drummer but as far as "fit" for the band I think all the pieces fell together and were able to fit just like they should. Some replacement musicians feel like they're just replacement musicians but Zach is as much "Coheed" as Claudio is at this point.
Man I love when these rig rundowns sound more like 2 Bros nerding out over gear and that's the exact feel I got from this! Sounded like 2 friends discussing gear, great stuff man!!
So glad I got to catch them in Austin last year, seeing them play all of No World For Tomorrow was an incredible experience for a relatively recent C&C fan The End Complete live is such a wild experience
Hey Patrick! If you keep doing this kind of shows, would be amazing if you could ask the players to give us a little demo about their pedal's combinations.
Montal Guns Absolutely man! This was my first time doing anything like this or anything on location, I'm just happy the audio came out good from those lav mics! Hahaha But I'm planning on getting a Zoom or field recorder of some kind so I can get a mix direct from the mixing board have the player I'm talking to go through their different tones
Do more of these! I happen to have Mantic Beef Bag which is a much nicer clone of the meatbox. It will never leave my board! I love the Rainbow Machine set to a lush chorus and the activate switch to a slapback delay setting. Much love Knick-Knack-Patty-Whack!!
This was such a cool vid, Patrick! If you ever get your hands on a Cutlass please make a demo out of it, I need to see this played with a pick and some subtle overdrive :)
It's because they were hauling so many ps around to get all the different sounds. This makes things easier, and they don't have to risk their tube heads.
MisterJawaman lol no idea, dont think they have "rig rundown" trademarked and I'm not trying to get people to think I'm part of the PG brand or infringe on their territory

@@patrickhunter i went to HS with zach. fucking awesome, chill dude back in HS too.
Zach is such a quality human being
Man I love when these rig rundowns sound more like 2 Bros nerding out over gear and that's the exact feel I got from this! Sounded like 2 friends discussing gear, great stuff man!!
He is an awesome bassplayer and a nice human being! Amazing video, Patrick. Cheers from Brazil!
Gleuber Rodríguez Thank you so much for watching man! And he is an absolutely amazing human being, nicest guy around
As soon as he mentioned the distortion I heard number city in my head :p glad he mentioned it
Coheed is always one of the best live shows I frequent. I've seen them both times they've been in Toronto recently and they are such a great live band
So glad I got to catch them in Austin last year, seeing them play all of No World For Tomorrow was an incredible experience for a relatively recent C&C fan
The End Complete live is such a wild experience
"This is, like, nothing short of fucking incredible"
God damn right! 🤘🏼
13k subs. Man i remember you freaked for you first 1 thousand. You're doing amazing man. Super inspirational.
and too, given he has only 13k subs, he’s making leaps and bounds. Doing a gear rundown with a notable band is a big deal.
Ricky Limones Forever thankful for friends and fans like you, brother❤️
Seth Hearn Dude I'm still in disbelief that's this even happened! Hahahaha
One of my favorite UA-camrs interviewing one of my favorite basses from my favorite band! You are so awesome, Patrick! Also, what an experience man!
patrick man the vitriol is THE bass fuzz/distortion
Man, Patrick, you look genuinely happy here. It's amazing to see you have some fun out there.
Seems like the nicest most chill guy. Really cool of him to do this for you! Great vid man
My favorite band and favorite bass youtuber! Super stoked to see this pop up in my feed

Saw them for the 3rd time in minneapolis. Best show yet
James Markham This was my 6th or 7th Coheed show and they still fucking kill it!
Thanks for that rig tour!!!! It was necessary. Also, great ending :D
Oh my God, this is amazing! I'm so happy you got the opportunity to do this.
NatePowers Same dude, a legitimate dream come true!
This is so awesome. Coheed is such a prolific band. I couldn't stop listening to second stage turbine blade when it came out.
P bass into a Super Bassman is like THE tone for me. Which is my current rig.
Also just got a Serek bass. So that's great too.
David Six Dude NICE in grabbing a Serek!!! And yeah he let me play the Cutlass into his rig and that growl sounds SO GOOD.
Patrick Hunter something to be said about an all tube amp. 🤷🏻♂️
Great bass work on the new album.
Nice job Patrick, looking forward to future rig run-downs.
Declan McTiernan Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Damn Patrick! Awesome!!!
Great interview, please do some more:)
jensunray1 I'll do my best!
Coheed & Cambria doesnt sounds the same without Spector tone !
Hoàng Spector they sound better with Zach.
@@mattsmith6126 I know it's all about 'taste', but in my mind Michael Todd totally destroyed Zach.
I personally thought their best bass tone was when Mic was playing Fenders.
Something about those EMGs into an Ampeg mmm.
Awesome!!! More Bass Rige!
If you don't know mantic effects you got some teachin to learn.
coool!!!! keep on going, and thanks!!!
Finally bass
This was such a cool vid, Patrick! If you ever get your hands on a Cutlass please make a demo out of it, I need to see this played with a pick and some subtle overdrive :)
Perry v.d. Veekens Thanks Perry! And I am gonna do my 80000% best to get one on the channel!!
Did you do one with Shaun Cooper from TBS too? I’ve always been curious about his rig and the specs of his sig bass
This is so cool!
Go Zach!
Kinda Topsy turvy here. The bass player uses tube heads and the guitar players go solid state/modeling. Madness!
It's because they were hauling so many ps around to get all the different sounds. This makes things easier, and they don't have to risk their tube heads.
YESSSS IMG FINALLY!!!!
YES!! Ive always loved zachs tone so its awesome to see this!
Wow i must have been living under a rock! I only just now found this :) Zach is such a great guy and wicked player!
8 minutes talking gear? I smell heavy editing. Absolutely, MusicMan got some serious neck quality. Guitars too. Wow
Great vid! More of the same please :)
ado239 I'll definitely try! It seems like people really enjoyed this segment!
Isn't this infringing on the PG name? Great gear interview either way.
MisterJawaman lol no idea, dont think they have "rig rundown" trademarked and I'm not trying to get people to think I'm part of the PG brand or infringe on their territory
Patrick Hunter PG rarely interviews the bassists tho. And honestly the more of these type videos the better.
tom morello lookin ass
just kidding i love zach
HAHA ALRIGHT
SUPER DUPER
