Thought I'd mention that I may have blown out my XK-5 by the power cable cutting in and out quickly in a loose outlet, so watch out for that. Fortunately I have a replacement on the way.
Now that there is USB capability, am hoping that there will be a XK5 software editor. Menu diving ain't cool. I saw in a post on the Sweetwater website that says that Notes would hold when switching presets rapidly, am sure there has to be a "MIDI PANIC" function for solving this without having to turn the XK5 on and off. I can't wait to get mine,
Great video. Once you split the keyboard, you can also raise the octave of the lower for rock songs by Three Dog Night. Most of these videos are geared to left hand bass but it's cool to have 2 upper and lower manuals in the same octave. What they really need to do is put a Neo Ventilator 2 in there like Versi recently did. The internal Leslie simulator is ok, but the Ventilator 2 is the king at this time when it comes to an electronic simulator. An idea is to have the 5 knobs on the panel to change all the Leslie parameters on the future XK6 just like the Vent 2.
Can I reprogram the toe tab to On/Off the chorus/vibrato switch instead of the Leslie? More often than not I have a need to leave the Leslie where it is and toggle back-and-forth between Chorus on and off. That would be a nice feature.
How do you access the Vox or Farfisa organ sounds. in the XK5, the manual says to push the drawbar button, then use the value knob to get to the selections of the different organ types. The Vox and Farfisa are supposed to be in that selection and it isn't. Is this a typo in the owners manual or is there something I need to download to get those organ types installed? Or....is the manual just that vague that I am just not seeing something obvious" I am regarding to page 43 in the owners manual.
I called Hammond regarding the Vox, Farfisa and Pipe organ sounds. They sent me a software update upgrade which when installed in the USB Port, it loaded those organs into the XK5. So, all is good at this time.
