Man, please keep doing quartet lessons! You’re the first person I found who can explain the “theory” side of the style. I play for my church and I’ve been searching for a few months on the old school gospel sound. I feel like gospel has been overrun by contemporary and neo-soul recently. Good to find that nostalgic sound I grew up on.
Hanan, so so so much soul and SAUCE lawd have mercy! You put that down doc! Love the percussive stuff that you got going on! Gotta get my axe out for this one! Thx
Jesus when you explained that 1 and 2 chord thing, that shit made me click so hard that a lightbulb appeared! MY GOD I DIDNT KNOW IT WAS THAT SIMPLE TO MAKE SUCH PRETTY GOSPEL RHYTHM!
Brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feet moving doc!!!!! Praise the Name of the Lord!!!!! I can't wait for revival service tonight "Have You Tried Jesus, He's Alright"
Hanan, you are very good. I wish you could tab out some quartet lines perhaps in sequences note for note. That way someone learning can improvise and make up their own arrangements. Everyone may not tune their guitar the same way. It is not easy to just listen online and pick up what you are doing. Again, great job! I would like applying quartet drive to lap steel.
Love your work brother. God bless you Man in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. U have a new subscriber brother. Keep em coming. And share some church videos pls
Hey man, I’m a guitarist! Could you please teach me the ways for this! Like the relationship with the chords and what to learn. I wanted to be able to move freely! Please! Thanks man! 🔥 video
A lot of these guys didn’t know about theory, they just knew how to play. Like the legend Joe Pass, he didn’t know much theory he just knew how to play
@@thehananonline I'm starting to get these quartet drives down! You explained it well and I enjoyed listening to you play! I was a bass player for my church now im playing lead!
How did you learn this style and these licks? Are these licks specific to certain songs, or can they be used fluidly? I want to play this style of guitar, but don’t know where to start
Hello sir. I really want to learn that 1 and then the 2 lick the e to fsharp minor one you do. Could you please break that down? I want to play it in church.
@@brandonspencer3409 hey Brandon! It’s really just inversions of the E triad and the F# minor triad. As you reorganize the chord tones, you’ll find yourself moving up and down the scale that the chords create. The actual pitches when you combine the two chords are E - F# - G# - A - B and C#. Hope this helps!
So glad you're playing OUR music, but can you please give credit to the BLACK church! This is a specific quartet drive created by BLACK musicians. Don't rob them of their credit!
Absolutely. Black music is one of the ONLY true American art forms. No argument there. From Gospel to Jazz to Blues to Rock, it’s all black music created by incredible minds. And I do talk about Greater Faith Tabernacle in the video, which is the amazing black church I (and a long list of other incredible New York musicians) used to play in regularly.

Where are Quarter Lessons 1-3?
So basically learn all 4 triads, minor major, aug and diminished in all inversions lol???
Can you break this down more.
Sure. What would you like to know?
@@thehananonline what chords your playing.

Great video but it doesn't sound like your guitar is even plugged in
